Got a question for the guys???

Harleykat,

You're right re: the risque talk. I wouldn't have brought it up, otherwise. ....but some of the answers seemed to focus more on whether people thought I was baiting the guy with the talk rather than explaining what he was thinking, which was the question. (i.e. those posters were essentially telling me what I was thinking rather than what the guy was thinking, which was the Q)

pokerjimmy,

Neither guy was married, but you're pretty close with the 1st guy....I found out later he (1st guy) was seeing a whole string of other women. He was dating one woman and telling her she was "the one" and she found out (think she had gotten into his computer & phone records) he was meeting all these other women from online, so she told the other women about it. I felt pretty ill when I found out what was going on considering the phone talks. Adding to that, the way he came on all night when we met, well, I felt even more ill! (Yep, option (2) turned out to be the case.) Even later, I ran into yet another woman who knew no.1 & she told me he'd been saying nasty things about me. (All I can say is what nerve.) Anyway, the 2nd guy seems a lot more straight forward plus we know a lot of the same people, so he really surprises me. It was the 2nd guy I originally asked about in this thread....I still have no clue what happened....maybe the same thing, but who knows...even now, I still have a hard time believing no.2 would do anything underhanded. As I said, there won't be a 3rd time. All I can say to the men who do these things, is don't be surprised when women complain about it.

*pulls on her "man pants" to answer *

You were both at fault. You were at fault for leading him on over the phone. Regardless of what you said about no sex on the first meet, you still did risque things with him over the phone, thus sending mixed signals.

He played you thinking that despite what you said on the phone about no sex on the first meet, he knew you were willing to say risque things on the phone, so he figured once you got together, you would be willing to follow up in person.

Did you say "I have never done this before........." when on the phone? Did he say "I know, but just go for it........."

Don't do something on the phone you wouldn't do in person, save yourself the grief.

I think every woman should have some "man pants." I agree. Months and months of calls too and no meet.
