I could not imagine a guy telling me that my normal body function and reaction from arousal was something he would like to rid me of. Once again...WOW! How unsettling to know this. I am sure they have their reasoning and they actually see this as a good practice, believing it serves their purpose just fine. I am just thankful that our society has not become accustom to this practice. I don't know many males or females that would find pleasure with this. There is a reason our body creates lubrication. It enhances the feel and helps protect from many infections, not just due to STDs. It may not be as painful to a man because of his anatomy, as his foreskin moves and may become irritated, but most likely would not rip and things of that nature.
Then again, has anyone seen what is out there in America? People are into some painful and sick stuff. I guess if they are willing to do it and it suits their fancy, who am I to judge? It's different when you are forced though, I must say. But this goes to show that everyone is once again into and willing to do anything to achieve pleasure....... | |

Dry sex is a sexual practice of minimizing vaginal secretions by using intravaginal desiccants, by wiping out the vagina, or by other methods before and during sexual intercourse, thus making the woman's vagina dry and tight. The practice is supposed to generate extra sensation for the man during intercourse but may be painful or uncomfortable for the woman. The practice is common in Sub-Saharan Africa and is of concern as it increases the chances of transmitting sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including AIDS, due to vaginal tearing.
Furthermore, the practice of dry sex is generally incompatible with the use of condoms (which require lubrication to avoid breakage). It may also result in vaginal inflammation and/or traumatic lesions which in turn may increase the transmission of STDs in other ways.
I think some responses have been somewhat dismissive of the true subject nature, namely that women in some countries around the world have yet to achieve equality with their menfolk and subsquently get used as sex objects and chattels regardless of the results i.e in this case possibly intense discomfort for the women short term and greater risk of infection spread long term amongst the population.
While few people would say that any western society has yet reached perfection with sexual equality given differences in provision of health care for women for example, or lack of childcare narrowing further education and employment prospects, however the OPs example is a fairly extreme example not much less repugent then the taliban's habit of stoning to death rape victims for having sex outside of marriage.
So it would be nice to see responses that reflect the seriousness instead of the usual flippant throwaways that reveal certain individuals preoccupation with self. However, the real purpose of these forums is not to engineer social change but to allow the unwary to expose their prejudices and immaturity to the watchful, adding another team exercise to the selection process. So maybe I should throw some more rope into the pit.
