| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 7/10/2008 12:10:19 PM |
I´m one that hasn´t got enough knowledge about astrology, but what I do know is that one can NEVER tell the qualities of a person just by telling what sign they are. True astrology is, what I have learnt, much more complicated than that. In fact, a true horoscope can take hours to complete only for one individual. However, I´ve had bad experiences from some people born under a certain same sign (and it´s not Scorpio) ...but it´s no big deal since it´s a persons qualities that attracts - not the sign itself. Dito “Orionican”, I believe you’re right.
And “driily”, you’re right too!
I keep an open mind about people when meeting them, but have found the signs to be a good jump off point. Yes i've come across people who won't date me because of my sign and i've noticed that some signs are better suited to mine. The best sign i know is the peace sign.
And “ActionSmiles” - your message is so true...
I've noticed that two capricorns together never work. I have a certian antipathy to female capricorns due to thier aggressive demanding natures and insistence on expensive presents or overly elaborate controlling rituals.
...And “nuttykitten”? I find Gemini’s can get on with everybody so hats off to you!
In answer to the thread's Q., I'd have to say yes, as I believe in this zodiac lark. Female Scorpios are very intriguing star signs to me however - almost errrrm... errrmmm... well I... I can't find the right words right now... See - now they're getting to me - and not in a bad way either You might scramble my vocab at times, but what I fail to say I'd make up for in so many other ways. Actions speak louder than words. It's the Capricorn way I think.

| Zodiac Signs Posted: 7/10/2008 8:32:07 PM | Hehe, I KNEW the quesiton is going to be about Scorpio! :-)
Being a Scorpio myself, and having seen people react to it negatively... Many people don't know what Scorpio means. Scorpio is a sign of transformation. As my favorite writer put it, Scorpio's evolution goes this way:
1. Tarantula 2. Grey lizard 3. Eagle 4. Holy spirit (not nesessarily in the Christian sense of the word, although this term I think has been borrowed from christianity.)
This of course means nothing wihtout elaboration; the point is, the range of Scorpio energies/situations is enormous, from very base to very high.
Me, I am not put off by any signs (after all, we know sun-sign astrology does not mean much), though if I see Virgo or another sign compatible with me, I take notice.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 7/11/2008 1:43:42 AM | I thought asking about zodiac signs was the last thing on a person's mind while on a date lol According to those things, I'm a Saggitarius, you know, loves to travel, almost a social butterfly, gets bored with men easily etc. But I don't think a lot of those characteristics that are assigned to Saggitarius are related to me at all. Some are even the opposite, in fact. With compatibility its too hard to keep in mind which signs I should date and which ones I shouldn't. I definitely don't go out of my way to find out what sign a potential boyfriend is, that's just silly. Who really cares about that sort of thing in this day and age?? | |

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 7/11/2008 12:13:27 PM | ^ This may be because you you might have a very weak Sun in your chart. I'd venture to say your Sun is not aspected by any planet. Now, if your Sun was in Leo, you'd almost certainly feel like a Leo, because Sun is the ruler of Leo. Or if your Jupiter was in your Saggitarius, same thing.. a bit different manifestation though.
Sun-sign astrology is vulgar. Every astrologer will agree with that.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 7/11/2008 6:34:02 PM | So, like, can you make up your own zodiac sign? Like a skull and crossed swords or some such? I'm, thinking that would be a cool one to have for February 29th...
Yeah ok...you can't,,,but still...could "modify" your sign...cancer could be, like, a cigarette, libras could be a drug scale or a weigh scale! Wonder what else could be "modified"?

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 7/11/2008 6:48:59 PM | I get negative feed back on my sign. Cancer...yuck what a name! But then we do have that cool"69"(turn it on its side) as a symbol.
I had a fwb guy a few years back who just about wet himself when he found out what my sign was. He was a scorpio. I knew our signs were compatible but I kept that to myself. Heck, I thought he had hit the lottery or something when he found out!
But really and truely my best relationship was with a Virgo...I never would have guessed that one.
The sun zodiac is just the tip, so I don't really pay that much attention.
If somebody is going to make a judgement call on me based only on my sun sign...they're not for me anyway.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 9/3/2008 7:00:02 AM | Hmmm... now that you mention it, I think someone stopped msging me when I told him I am kinda a stereotypical taurus (he asked if I fit the description of a Taurus).
I don't really pay any attention to zodiac signs at first. I think when I'm on the fence I might check, but otherwise, I can't be bothered.

Are there any zodiac signs you may find to be intimidating or would never be interested in?
I enjoy what they have to say. I believe that if someone is open minded they would consider that you would have to consider the actual time and day within the sign to get the most out of it. If you consider a sign without regard to such factors as whether it is a cusp or not you would be thrown off. For instance. I believe a scorpio sag cusp would have different traits than a scorpio that is earlier in the sign. Do I believe I am judged by the sign itself? Not so much. Like most other people I think it may have some influence. However, someone who doesn't really go further into it if it is something that is pivotal in their relationship decision making wouldn't be someone I'd be with in a dating relationship with anyway. I'd say it would be more reasonable not to consider it at all if there is not a better way to be objective about. The books say that the best partner for me is a Libra gal through all phases including the Libra scorpio cusp. I am not intimidated by it. I also don't put everything into it because I'd say nurture would have to have some influence in part with any of the characteristics. But I do think alot of people use astrology as a conversation starter or as a gateway item.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 9/4/2008 11:10:49 PM | | I like to read the horoscopes for fun. There is always something that will fit the person that you know is their sign. Food for thought: The stars have moved in relationship to the Earth. They are constantly moving through space. Therefore, the dates established by astronomers before Christ are no longer valid. The Earth and stars have moved and are not in the same relationship to each other. So, whatever sign is designated for the dates of your sign are not accurate or you might be on the cuspid of your sign and actually be the sign before you. | |

This is not a recent revelation. I'm thinking you are wise enough to know that at the same time the planets have also done so. Unless of course your research tells you that Jupiter is now closer to the sun than earth.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 9/5/2008 10:54:00 AM | I think there might be a little something to it if you dwelve into it. Most of those things are in general. I'm a "Leo" and I looked it up and I'm not the type.
Only thing I found was that I like my home and very aggresive. A lot of people would fall into that catagory.
Other than that, I don't go by it but hope that's not a factor if someone is looking for a match, that's a person I don't need. I'm not trying to be sarcatic but real here.
I know anyone can get along with any sign if you work at it like everything else in life. That's what it's all about.

That's a shame. Perhaps he had some bad experiences with Taurus women. But to paint all Taurus women with the same brush to me would be well less than intelligent.

| Ever thought your Zodiac sign could be intimidating to others? Posted: 9/6/2008 9:16:15 AM | Pffft, it would be wise for someone to be intimidated by me - I'm a Leo and you can definitely hear my ROAR!!
But really, if someone is going to pass me up simply because I happen to be a lion, then so be it. They won't be petting MY mane anytime soon! ;-) Hahaha!
