These are facts, not media rumors.

Fact #1- The Nets and Nuggets did have talks in place if the Nets won the draft lottery.
It was going to be the #1 pick and contracts for Carmelo because Karl would love to be rid of Carmelo.

Fact #2- LaBron James wears NY Yankees gear to Cleveland Indians Games.

Fact #3- LaBron James was at Jay-Z's wedding. It was on the off day between games. I remember this because I bet against Cleveland the next night when I heard he was there. I don't know about someones god theory but they are closer friends than you think.

Fact #4- In LaBron's Nike contract, it states that if he plays in LA, New York or Chicago, he gets a 100 MILLION dollar bonus. That is more than his 3 year contract is worth. He signed it in 2006. The Nets are set to move to Brooklyn in????? 2009. 2006 + 3 year contract plus new team in New York = $100 million outside of his contract in 2009. Stern was quoted as being mad that players could be controlled by outside companies in their shoe contracts.

I could care less about my teammates if Nike gives me 100 million in bonus for playing in New York. If LaBron wanted to stay in Cleveland he would have signed more than a 3 year deal for his 2nd contract.

Who's looking silly, when three people are taking one side (ON! Plymouth Rock) and you, just as U A ego said, living under said rock. In your case, YES, Plymouth Rock did land on you.
mm, I kind of agree with George Karl, it looks like Melo is following in A.I.'s footsteps. Ironically, they both played in the Big East and won their first and last championships in B-Ball. I know Melo won with the Cuse' in his freshman and only year and I'm willing to admit my apprehension about A.I. winning at G-town? Or, did the Hoyas only win with Patrick Ewing?
Because, only a REAL man admits if he's not sure (or wrong)
And, Lt., sir,...PARK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR the next time you come into MY house!!!

Nah, no title in college for AI.

AI is probably the most underrated player of this generation though. What he did with some of those sixers teams was amazing. If he didn't have corn rows and tattoos those those years would have been talked about like god was leading that team.

I'm not taking anything away from A.I. He almost single handedly put the Sixers on his back and led them to the promised land. His only problem is,...PRACTICE!!!

fact #1 which has what to do with Melo being interested in the nets as a free agent?

fact 2 he is a yankees fan.....he is also a ohio state, Dallas cowboys and former bulls fan.......let the lebron to the maverick and bulls rumors begin!

fact 3 hes friends with Jay-z, its been well documented again where is the "so what" part of this? Im sure he is friends with many celebrities.

fact 4 really? because id love to see you hold up the contract and point to that clause! I mean were you in the room with his representation when they hammered out the details? Its amazing what some people will believe through word of mouth.

see this is all funny because i went to st vincent st mary during the duration of lebron's years there and i know many of his close personal friends and relatives, the fact that you people
believe this media tabloid fluff is hilarious to me.

lol oh oscar what a pathetic desperation move, the all too familiar "im looking like an ignoramus so ill throw out some random moronic diss and be on my way" whats the matter? run out of pseudo facts and homo erotic characterizations for yourself?

in addition Brian Windhorst beat writer for the akron beacon journal and the only reporter in lebron's inner circle had this to say about it last year.

"I've only written this about a dozen times, but here goes again: LeBron's Nike contract does not have location escalator clauses. He signed the deal for the maximum penny the night before the lottery, a lottery the Bulls, Knicks and Clippers were in. That was three years and three days ago and the deal has four more years to run. Some of his other deals do have such clauses, but even if those endorsement deals tripled they would not cover the difference in him signing with the Nets rather than the Cavs."

Brian Windhorst has NEVER named his source on his Nike views. So David Stern expressing anger over the issue or a beat written from Akron who has never said his source(Or I bet traveled to Oregon to read a Nike contract) and has only said, I've said it a dozen times as his evidence...

So now you have a jornalist writting to Cleveland fans who buy his paper that their star is staying. What a shock...

Okay, I'm waving the white flag. No more of these childish games.
I'll admit, I don't read up on the offseason going ons like I do in baseball. But, I know the game of basketball like the back of my hand. I grew up in the Bronx and I've been playing since I was nine years old. Some people might think 6' 1" is tall, but not in B-Ball. I played against guys who were from 6' 5" to 6' 9" and I never backed down once. What I lacked in size, I made up with brain and brawn. I outsmarted them on the boards and psyched them out both mentally and pyhsically intimidating them, by outmuscling them.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'll leave you at peace,...until the season starts!!!

OKLAHOMA CITY (TICKER) —The NBA filed for trademarks on six nicknames for Oklahoma City’s new franchise, The Oklahoman reported on Friday.

Citing the United States Trademark and Patent Office, the newspaper said that the league filed for a trademark on Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind.

It has been rumored in the last few weeks that the team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics is leaning toward Thunder, but the NBA would not reveal that information.

“The NBA will not have a comment on this until a nickname is selected,” NBA senior director of basketball communications Tim Frank told the newspaper.

I used to live in Oklahoma and I know how terrible the wind there can be, but they absolutely must not choose that as a team name.

It would never get past ESPN when their analysts would sooner or later have to say, " Nobody executes the fast.... break like the Wind ".

Brian IS the source, name one person how has been closer to Lebron James inner circle. Brian knows lebron on a personal level and has since his high school days. Is it a factual source? maybe not indisputable but where is the source for the people who swear they know the contract in and out with all of the assumed escalator clauses? thought so.

How about the Oklahoma Rustlers, since they stole Seattle's team away from them

Yeppers. He'll certainly become a better player in the years to come, but I feel *for once* the Bobcat's FO made the right decision by refusing to max Okafor.

I agree being a north carolina man and going to some bobcats games. They have good pieces in place though with okafor and gerald wallace and jason richardson and raymond felton. I think they're one big man away from being a good team.

What makes you think his days as a bobcat are over? not that im saying you are wrong i just havent heard anything on that front except they are not looking to sign and trade him.

restricted free agency is really slowing things down and leading to some ugly negotiations. Players arent getting market value because other teams dont want to get into a long bidding war with whatever team holds that player's rights. I wouldnt count out him being resigned it just might take a while.

Like someone else said though they would be wise not to overpay for him, he has about hit his ceiling and hes not really worth more than 8-9 mill. At the same time he is a key component, if you lose him the bobcats are right back to being horrible as it stands they are probably about a low 40 team with him at best and they need to find a go to guy.

Between salary and luxury tax they save 40mil by moving him.

I still don't understand the trade....teams are going to run layup drills on the Nuggets now & they might still lose J.R. Smith via free-agency.

I don't think they care. Karl also hates Melo, so don't expect him to be around much longer. Or Karl to be around much longer.
