do any of you remember a place called the Canal of Venice?

I do....I do....I believe it was called....La Grande Canal of Venice.

First time I was introduced to Antepasto....and the 3 - 4 course meal....who knew?

Was the first "fancy" restaurant a date took me to....OMG almost 35 years ago.

In the exchange there was a restaurant called Chopins. Great food and good service. One time, I was told as I ordered that I had to pay before service. Seems that the year before the Fringe Festival entertainers kept skipping out after eating.

Tumbleweed's on Ellice Avenue was a great place to go for breakfast. Small restaurant...you had to get there early to get a seat!

Odd how no one is lamenting the closing of the Orpheum.

A place I was thinking about just the other day was Merks. It was a good buffet with great pizza.

Anyone remember Uncle John's on McPhillips? I believe it was where the Feast is now.

Easy Side Mario's - a fake Italian restaurant that had very good food. And that trivia game.

Was that the polish restaurant on Albert or Arthur? I used to go there many years ago.

Yes, that was the one on Albert street. Great food, although the occasional lady of the evening wandering in made for some unexpected..... anecdotes.

How about the Garden Crepery, think it was on the south side of the Holiday Inn on York, or Brothers on Portage.

Yes, Pharo's Restaurant on Portage had the best pizza & the sizzling steak sandwiches on those metal plates that would spit juice all over one's shirts.
Never ate at the Paddock but spent a bit of time in the lounge.

^^^^Yezzzzzzzz the metal plates at Pharo's..........Brother's was fantastic for a long time.......Then a change in ownership late 80's due to passing of original owner....Brother's was not the same in the 90's.....Widow wife became part owner again due to long time clients comments..............was nice for awhile again..... The Italian Restaurant now in it's place is not bad....................
