| When a woman finds a man attractive she will first look at his shoes.?. Posted: 7/6/2008 6:53:23 PM | "along with that high-polish shine. You're at work, not a fashion show!"
I have to take exception to that comment. If I buy a pair of shoes that were shiny when I bought them, I would keep them looking that way. I wear some leather (loafers/lace-ups...no tassels) shoes to work and want to look professional. Personally, I don't care what women think of my shoes since I was raised to "always put my best foot forward" (no pun intended!) and any man that would buy a nice pair of shoes and not take care of them is just lazy IMO!

I don't usually pay much attention to anyone's shoes, especially mens-well unless they're wearing socks & sandals with shorts. Then its really noticeable. But other than that no. If I do happen to check out his feet...its not really his shoes I'm looking at. Kind of when we check out his ummm...belt...yeah....its not really the belt we're checking out either

Women look at everything - don't you?
I agree with this. Everybody looks at everything. With me if you have dirty sneakers it's a HUGE turn off. Same as has been mentioned with the socks and sandals. Or if you have unkept feet and sandals. But I look at the whole outfit If it doesn't look nice and crisp/clean even if it's just a shirt and jeans. It MIGHT not always be a deal breaker but it's definitely got the deal on edge.

Now see...I was gonna be good but Laughinglibra...damn girl.
Seriously OP...you might laugh but oh well. My mother used to tell me that you can sometimes judge how well a man takes care of himself/his life looking at his shoes and his hair. Shoes--if a guy's wearing scuffed, worn out shoes, what else is scuffed and worn out? Hair...not whether it's long or short, but is it kept up. Is it dirty, does he have obvious dandruff that he's not maintaining. If so, what else doesn't he maintain? His house, car, finances?
I used to laugh whenever she said that, then a few times I used it. Does it matter in the end? Heck no--please! The guy with the great $100 haircut and $300 pair of shoes can be as much of a d**k as the one with the $10 cut and the $50 shoes--maybe even worse. But I did notice that those men who don't bother to pay attention to those things may have been careless with other issues as well.
But...I agree with LL...we're not checking out your shoes... ...really...we're not.

My ex in the beginning seemed to take care of himself. Then I noticed he started to "let himself go", his shoes were always dirty he barely washed is hair. He barely shaved and cut his hair. Once every so often he'd go and get cleaned up but after the clean up day he just let it go down hill and it goes on and on. Come to find out, his house was a wreck, he barely paid his bills, he was extremely unreliable, etc, etc. I'm in 110% agreement with Mothers method. I'm going to keep her quote in mind.

Turn-offs - Really out of style shoes. Cowboy boots - ex bought very expensive cowboy boots when our family was struggling financially. High heels and pointy toes. I now associate cowboy boots or any pointy toes with an abusive personality.
Dirty or worn-out shoes don't bother me at all. Neither do sandals or sandals with socks. It's quite a European thing and common if you've ever lived in a multi-cultural city in Canada.

Men who wear less than pristine or worse out of fashion shoes are routinely denied jobs when interviewed by women regardless of how qualified.
You GIRLS want to be taken seriously by MEN? Stop judging people based on such dumbass things.
