Darin, I had a blast, and so did Amy, Robin and Kat....as we stumble around here this AM.....
I was talking to one of the waitstaff who was just hired two days ago to try to sort out their service 'issues'.....I think she was in shell-shock by the end of the nite........
OMG, I can't believe we were playing TWISTER in the middle of the club.....shame on you, RD.....
Yes, it was harder to ID each other as so many were not wearing their flipping NAME TAGS!  And, we were spread out.....can't help going OUTDOORS!
The fishees I talked to were sooooo impressed with the Tiki Bar and the river view.....
not to give up hope yet.....even if there WAS a band, it probably would have been tailored to the younger crowd.....I have no problem with DJ's, just music choices.....
We'll give 'em some time for their 'growing pains'......then, I know I'LL be back! | |

A bit crowded with young people, my daughter said her friends have found a new place to go, so thats not encouraging for us old folks, and the music was not my cup of tea, but they don't always have a DJ. Posted: 7/27/2008 1:01:33 PM | i had a simply wonderful time...you big city boys were awesome...i tried to meet everyone, lol, and i really think i got close....a special thank you to our wonderful lhl, breakfast was yummy...i didn't have a problem getting drinks, lol, pushy thing that i am...thank you darin for hosting this great event...it was just so awesome meeting all my forum friends...thanks for the beer mr. holms and jon...i stole my traditional little kiss, mmmmmm...well maybe more than one

They had a band come in I saw the box that would hold a trumpet and few boxes that I recognized as amplifier boxes also one the looked like a guitar box they had brought at least half the equipment end when I looked away then I looked back and they had a DJ.
trust me I used to manage a few bands when I was younger and put a few years on me.
I think they are having problems most resturaunts have this especially during start up. But they only allocated 3 waitresses to our 70+ party a more realistic total would have been 5 and we would not have had such waits. I think they hired a bean counter( sorry patty) rather than a manager. well that's my two cents

Posted: 7/28/2008 6:03:21 PM | All right Bob this coming Saturday night, I'll meet you there at eight o'clock and we'll talk to the owner and see if we can work out some of the problems we had. Anyone else that would care to attend to put their two cents in feel free to be there by eight o'clock. I have to work on Saturday otherwise I would try to get there sooner hopefully I won't have a parking problem.

Think I will stop at the Speedboat bar in front of Bob's first though. I have been hearing how good their burgers are for years. I wasn't too impressed with the mini Tiki burgers I ordered at Bob's.

Thinking about it I wonder if there is something happening here in Wyandotte that I don't know about. I was at the Detroit Festival of the Arts down in the cultural center back in June. I got talking with a lady who owned a gourmet market downtown. When she heard I was from Wyandotte, she said that she had been exploring sites in Wyandotte for a second location. I asked her "why Wyandotte?" and she said "Wyandotte is happening". Maybe it is. I'm always the last to know. | |

I hope that they can get things together....I just thought that they had problems because it was so new. I really liked that place.
I was at Bob's ast night for a bit. My Grandson was in the hospital.... But is fine now Thank God!
