Posted: 7/6/2008 11:41:37 PM | Well its Monday and recovered nicely from all the dancing, had a fantastic night, great venue, the music was spot on.
Loved the venue, and even left quite sober lol, now thats a change lmao.
It was great to meet some new folk, and see old faces, big hugs to Zoe, Matt, Barb and Sparkles for the huge welcome.
A big hand to the organisers, great stuff.
So whens the next one, looking forward to partying again.

Posted: 7/7/2008 4:28:12 AM | Onto my shouts in a minute, but first off, gotta extend some empathy towards Mr Marvellous and his assessment of the meet. I gotta say that this was probably far and away the most enjoyable evening meet I've ever attended, I looked and probably acted pretty daft for much of the night (and that probably says more about me as a person than the drink I'd consumed!!), but I do remember my first few meets last year, and how things were very different. I was nervous, awkward and apprehensive, and it probably took until my third meet for me to relax and start enjoying these POF socials properly. I really hope you can make another one, if not one of the evening ones yet then maybe a mini-meet at some point soon 
Yeah, no two ways about it, this meet was fab! A really good venue, plenty of party people, and a quite incredibly friendly atmosphere. Credit goes to Barbelbil for setting this up - I really feel you've picked a winner with this venue mate - and to norty prefect co-hosts Sparkles and Misheru 
So many turned up to show their support for this event, and that was hugely appreciated. My lovely birthday girl Barberella, Midlandstaurus, Pinkgypsy (good to have you back!) and Ken (a great surprise seeing you again bud), Autumn Mist, Derbyminx, 22 Carrot, A Supermum, Amanibaby & Charley, Cheekyden & Jacqui, Clareep, Colmerry, DerbrA09, ExCon Notts, Klh123, Leo, Lush1964 (great to see you again), London90, Marky14 (cheers for the pint mate!), Ordinary Angel and Secondtimelucky, Shimmers4u and Lesleyy, Single Simon, St Rob, Suziewoozy (great to see you again.....with ya mad mate!!), and last but not least, d38ra, were just some of the faces I remember. Apologies if anyone's been missed.
Great to meet at least two newbies who seemed to be having a good time - CurvyPlus (who decided to come to the event at the last minute, hope we see you at many more), and the very lovely, slightly bonkers and probable future meet addict, the party animal that was Inuit 'Red Bull' Girl!
Gotta give a special shout out to Barbelbil for his tireless effort with the pics as well, however predictably suspect some of them looked, given the theme 
My only real reservation was when we lost the exclusivity of the room at 12pm and the remaining POF'ers (who were still in very good numbers, even at that point) were marginalised to a large extent as the room was opened up to a large crowd of non-members. Brilliant night though, can't wait til the next one  | |

BB - there dont seem to many local meets coming up. Ive spotted the Sunday 20th July one but apart from September cant see anymore yet. A definite gap in the 'meet market'. Do what you do best honey and make us love you forever! | |

I was forced to adopt 3 kids (U buggar Tracey)

Derby Zanzibar, Friday the 15th of August. Usual Disco format and times apply, with the added and equally free opportunity to meet the members of the once-popular band East 17. The group will be performing in the club on the night and any POF member or guest interested in watching them will be given the opportunity to do so completely free of the usual £5.00 per head charge.
