Posted: 8/7/2008 2:53:27 AM | Well if no changes for the worse - I will be there for sure - a much needed break after the past couple of weeks. I have not packed but can do so quickly enough and will be coming up Friday afternoon as well. I too bought a new water pistol just in case - hmmm only to be used in defense you say Steve - well trust me - you'll probably be using it once this water fight gets underway! Hopefully it will be a hot day and everyone will enjoy a little cooling off! hehehe Everyone gets included in on the fun - and it is all in good spirits.
Yes - having a drink or two or three would be great - and if people's aims are worse then - that could be a good thing for all! LOL
One more sleep - hmmm - hopefully that means I will get home at a decent time tonight to get sleep and have time to pack.

This is going to be another great event, just look at the sign up sheet, and you can see that. Sorry you won't be able to join us bookkeepper and Wendy, but we'll have a toast for you.
Remember, we always need more wood for the bonfires. Can't wait to see everyone. It's still not too late to sign up, join us for a grand time. | |

Posted: 8/7/2008 2:03:19 PM | Hey all, a couple that are friends of mine, that met on here, have just given me the ok, to say that they are coming.. they are bringing a bar b q.. so hopefully that is ok, they are bringing food, just haven't given me an update yet.. they just decided due to work. I am getting off work early friday, and soon as i get ready, i will be on my way, i think i have 4 vehicles from this area convoying with me.. they're afraid i'll get sidetracked i guess.. i know people all the way down there in the small towns.. anyway, a good POF friend of mine from madoc, is bringing me in 2 truck loads of wood friday night to the campsite.. so that will help.. i think i am getting it together, hopefully have time to slip back on here, and catch the last minute postings... if not, everyone drive careful, be safe... we want everyone to make it for this, what i think is going to be a great weekend.. hey papabear.. good to hear your back in action again. Looking forward to seeing you. You know what my trailer looks like, so hunt me up... talk to, and see everyone, in less than 24 hrs...

Posted: 8/7/2008 3:02:16 PM | hey paul...is that rain shelter big enough to house all of us? cuz it's not lookin good babe. ugh...ye weather gods disgust me. madoc has a severe weather watch today, including t-storms, hail with ground coverage and funnel clouds. luckily it looks like that'll be all out of the way before we get there...but still says rain and t-storms all weekend. dagblasted!!! HOW CAN THERE POSSIBLY BE ANY PRECIPITATION LEFT??? after the winter we had and now all the rain this summer...is it really too much to ask for some hot dry weather? come to think of it...i haven't been to a pof campout yet where it didn't pour rain at some point. hmm...ok...patterns don't lie. who, in our group, pissed off the weather gods???
ok..i'm bringing stew. maybe warm stew will help take the chill off. on that note...is anyone bringing bowls? like paper or plastic or styrofoam bowls...and spoons? i have some disposable dishes and cutlery from last time out...but don't think i have enough for the big crowd we're expecting. so if anyone has extras of that stuff, that'd be great! | |

Okay campers....this is the last "sleep" before the party starts........I will be leaving Brockville around 2 with one short stop in Kingston to pick up another camper.....So those of you who make it there before me, be sure the beer is cold and the weather is warm....lol.....

Well for sure the weather gods have been unsure of themselves the last few months because everytime we turn around they have changed thier minds about what they are doing next ..... hmmmm ... kinda remides me on an X girlfreind  sorry the devil made me say that ........ I actually heard 3 different forcasts for Ottawa today .... guess what none of them were right on the money. We got a bit of rain .... well a small storm that lasted about 45 min and it is sunny again. More huff and puff than anything. You worry too much ....... 
By the looks of things the weather for the weekend is gonna shape up like it did last weekend ........ look outside your tent in the morning and see what we're gonna get ...... then forget about it because it is gonna change before the day is done. Don't worry Burnt Angle I have you covered. I'll through in the frame for the rain shelter just incase and have an idea. I will be there early tomorrow (10 - 11 am) and should have everything up by the time most people show up. Any help I may need I can get for a couple other fishies that should be there early too.
Now RideSallyRide ..... as for food your guess is as good as mine. I know some of the regulars and Steve will bring some bacon .... not sure how much so there is a thought though I think we are good there ...... if you are thinking of something for the potluck ...... Chicken drumsticks could work for the BBQ ...... or a fruit plater / salad thingie ........ a couple ideas ...... but like I said your guess is as good as mine ..... just bring something you are comfortable with.
Ok so I have to run and get propane and since I am not bringing the boat and may need the extra room I might swithch trucks and load everything in my other truck that has a bit more room. Gonna run ........

I figured we have had enough rain so the weekend should be good. Just doing some final packing and off to bed for one more sleep 
Paul: if you need any help, I should be up with hazeleyes early afternoon. I am getting up on time, whipping up a batch of home made bread and bringing it as well for tomorrow night.
Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and Saturday.

A perfect football game, yeeee haww, and I actually ended up getting the time off , so made it down just in time. Of course , I'll be driving back in the a.m. so I can still make it to the event. It barely rained for the game, so I'm sure our weekend will have just as much luck.
I've given up on the biscuits, so will be scrambling for another dish. We can always use more salads, veggie plates and as mentioned earlier, fresh fruit is always nice, for those of you who haven't decided on a dish yet.
I've still got lots of side plates and cutlery, and will be bringing them.
One more sleep, and it won't be a long one if I'm to get everything ready in time.

Now for the weather and the rain - whoever is ticking off the rain gods - needs to apologize because camping and rain should not be allowed in the same phrase! Otherwise I need to forget about buying tents and get a camper! hehehe
Nice to see so many new people and meet people from all over! Can't wait to see some pics posted - but of course NOT all of them! LOL  some just have to be sensored!

I was truly surprised wioth the turnout we had concidering the weather that was forcasted and about 50 - 55 fishies came out to play and initiated to our group of plenty of freinds. Allot of new faces and welcome to all who did decide to come out for thier first time, and hope you had a few good memories of the weekend. I know I did, the pics should be great though they will take a bit of time to gather ..... my camera ran out of battery and Welshgal forgot hers.
The weather turned out to be a little damp but with the exception of a little bit of rain on and off Friday ..... Saturday was nice with the exception of one little shower around 11 that put a little damper on things ...... though we did keep pretty dry through the minor interution to the evening.
Thanks to Welshgal and lady_linx for your hard and creative work, another great event and to homegirl and blondebabe for all the help. There are more that deserve applause for thier help as weel but .... dam my pizza is getting cold ...... Keep your eye's open for our next event which is in the works .... probably in late September. | |
