Ive never been to an event where it felt like a meat market, maybe itsdifferent over here in the west. Or maybe Im biased because I organise events haha | |

Small group BBQ's are a great way to meet new people and yes they are very welcoming. Look to see what other people post about those who are running them, I would never jump in feet first if I wasn't comfortable with the group of people that were there.
I trust in my intuition if it doesn't feel right well, no show.
New friends are a bonus in these gatherings. | |

Posted: 7/12/2008 7:00:09 PM | mainey's right - you're very lucky in queensland. seem to be events happening all the time. a couple of we sydney siders tried to get one going a few months ago but the lack of interest was deafening.
yes, i would feel shy and nervous but i'd still be there.

It took me a bit to get to a plenty of fish event, brought my housemate with me.
We both were made welcome and have been to a few now and have met some awesome people.
Its all ages.

Even if its only a few of you, maybe doing a BBq in the park ( family friendly)
Word gets out and your events will grow.
Dont give up the first time.
Time to step out of your comfort Zone
