This is shaping up to be a true billy belter at Zanzibar! 49 peeps signed up and we're not even into August yet, a great mix of POF party faithful and some new faces as well, nice to see Klh123 ably assisting this time, plus the chance to meet those, errrr, scrummy East 17 boys

This looks like a good night out so big thanks to the people setting it up Barbelbil and klh123 and anyone else involved! It looks as if the event is going to be a success already with 55 people attending, so i look forward to meeting some of you on the night and maybe making some new friends or maybe more 
Although i am a new POF member meeting that many new people at once maybe scary  Are these sort of events a regular occurance on POF?

To find out exactly how regular and to view all other upcoming ones scheduled throughout the UK, look toward the top of your inbox and click on the highlighted link that says:
**NEW** Local Get Togethers, Events and Discussions etc!
It is an active and underlined link that takes you straight to the events listings, where you can then click to view new events and/or the images from those having taken place most recently.
Then you have what we call the green events listings, which carry active 'green links' to the 12 most imminent ones scheduled in chronological order. These can be based anywhere in the country and you may note that a link to this party is currently included along with 11 others.

I have just noticed that this meet is just over an HOUR travelling time from where i live. I was wondering if it was any good? lol
Never been to the Derby one, I never was aware that it took place!
I am trying Wakefield next week too, Is the Zanzibar easy to find!?

In answer to your question yes the derby meets are great fun nights and this one even more so as East17 there and thanks to BB we get them to ourselves for abit...Zanzibars is easy to find...if you like could meet you in derby and we could go to pre meets together and then on to Zanzibar, feel free to message me if you would like
Looking forward to this night out, seems ages since our last one lol, nice to see Barb's lovely daughter soming along again, Mmmmmm have one by the pool for us please barb's lol

Thank you that would be great, I don't know the way yet i am coming from Denaby, nr Doncaster, in South Yorkshire. Let me know the details please and i will give you my number to make arrangements.
I don't know what the plan is do people stay over? All i know apparently according to route finder its 1hr 6mins journey one way. (after i started to send this message, i decided to email you on your profile, hope that is ok?)
I am going to attend this one at DERBY it sounds a great night. East 17 nice one, I think i vaguely remember them , being so young at the time :) lol
I don't know anyone else who is attending, so it will be great to make more new friends. 
I am getting brave wondering into the unknown territory lol
I am so grateful that at the other meets in Pontefract, Sheffield AND Wakefield( which i am trying 8th aug) that everyone was so helpful. It is great how so many people are so welcoming and accomodating to people that are newbies,. I am so GLAD i joined the site, My social life is starting to improve immensely as is my circle of friends are increasing too.

Posted: 8/3/2008 3:21:47 PM | OK, I'm not gonna churn out number updates every few posts, but having said that, the sign-up for this one could be the best ever for a Derby meet, as it continues to go from strength to strength! Great to see top party girl Aqua Eyes back (and no, I wasn't a closet East 17 fan ya cheeky mare, although gotta admit to liking a couple of their tunes!). Trishy, glad to see you've signed up and are coming to Derby again, great to have you back
Lynne, thanks for being such a positive and enthusiastic newbie, be great to see you there. I hope this doesn't come across as too smug either (although I'm sure that BB especially will agree with me), but I have heard it said that East Midlands parties really do have a special atmosphere, and that some other POF'ers do regularly travel from pretty faraway (and sometimes bigger) towns and cities, to sample the special atmosphere at the Derby and Nottingham parties.

Posted: 8/4/2008 9:25:00 AM | HUGE THANKS to everyone having signed up so far, including you newbies - all of whom will be fine come the night. Really, once you've actually made the effort to turn your signup into an attendance, you'll wonder what the heck you were all worried about in the first place. Said it before and I'll say it again, 'you truly have nothing to lose but your apprehension' and maybe an episode or two of those abysmal soap operas.
Now, for crying out load. All those of you still dithering above that signup button, get yourselves on the list, pop along to Zanzibar Derby on the 15th of August and have some good old rip-roaring fun well away from that 42'' wide-screen in t'corner o' your lounge.
MOVING TO A PLEA FOR ASSISTANCE
As my original volunteer assistant appears to have left the site (meaning, unless she rejoins, she could no longer help with POF events even if she still wanted to), there's a vacancy for someone to take over the role if they wish.
Please please please, however, do not fill those valuable promotional spaces on this thread with chat about absent friends or public offers of assistance. Instead, I respectfully ask that anyone who fancies helping out on the night sends me a private mail. Before you do so, however, please read the blurb entitled "Fancy Being An Event Host?" in the 'First Date' section of my profile. 
Absolutely any POF member who has regular access to a pc is welcome to step forward in view of being considered. It doesn't matter whether you've hosted parties of your own, simply helped out at previous ones organised by me or anyone else, or if you just fancy having a go for the first time. All confidential offers will be greatly appreciated and dealt with ASAP.

ok so my name is down ..wooo hoo didnt know if i would make this one but seems I can ..which is great .
Sign up looks good ..dont worry any new people as its a great night and a really freindly bunch ..you will have a great time ..
Alas the school uniform will not be out for me at this event but I think it had a fare showing at the Nottm one .I am sure most will be releived to know i do have normal clothes to lol
