If you think that one was preposterous...This one must be for the connoisseur:

If I am going to the grocery store at 50 km hr four blocks down the street, and two hot women are heading to the same store at 60km/hr from the opposite direction to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables while I am picking up burgers and ground beef, how long till we meet? If 80% of my jokes are funny and 90% of people laugh at them what is the chances of me getting one of the woman’s phone numbers? Now given that there is a hotel two blocks away and a gas station (I need to fill up) with $1.35/ltr, and another hotel 5 blocks away near a gas station that is $1.40/ltr (with free condoms in washroom), which place should we go to? Or would it be better to go back to my place and risk them finding out I didn't need burgers or ground beef?

^Was that in response to mine (msg 55)? If so, that's not it.

If not, sorry for being presumptuous!

Hmm, the spacing didn't come out quite right in previous post..... I suppose it will add to the challenge.

WOW..... that was quick! That must have been too easy. I better put on my thinking bonnet on and find something a little more challenging.

Good job.

No, sorry. I'm not sure what yours is. You first posted it like this:

565
944
24

prompting me to believe there was a missing digit in a 3x3 matrix.

Now you have it listed like this:

5
65
944
24

Are these individual whole numbers? In other words, am I looking at 4 numbers, or 8 digits?

‘Leaves around the Bud'

‘Leaves around the Bud’.

I’ve temporarily changed the name of the game until someone figures it out.

There are no prizes, if you already know the game please keep it to yourself and give someone else a chance to work on it.

---------------------------------------------

The game is called ‘Leaves around the Bud’.

You need 5 dice to throw.

We’ll pretend here that we have 5 dice but it’s easier with real dice.

Five dice are rolled.

In our first virtual throw they land as:

4 5 6 3 6

The answer is 6

----------------------------------------

Next they land as:

4 3 2 1 3

The answer is 4

---------------------------------------

Now they land as:

3 5 1 5 6

The answer is 10

----------------------------------------

Then they land as:

1 4 2 4 6

The answer is zero

----------------------------------------

You need to know only 3 things:

1) The name of the game: ‘Leaves around the Bud’.

2) That the correct answer is ALWAYS even or zero.

3) That it's easier with actual dice.

Start throwing and tell us the dice and answer.

If you get an answer wrong I'll tell you the correct answer until you get every one right.

PS: You do not need a theory.

Super intelligent people may not be quicker to get the answer than the rest of us.

Thanks.

There is a very interesting story behind it featuring many famous people, which I'll link when at the end.

Figured out leaves around the bud.

Here's an old one.

A man is flushing his car's radiator. He needs exactly 4L of water to mix with the coolant. Unfortunately he only has a jug that holds 3L and a jug that holds 5L. He has an unlimited supply of water, and the jugs are oddly shaped so he can not eyeball it.
How can the man measure exactly 4L, using the 3L and the 5L jugs?

fill 5l jug
fill the 3l jug FROM the 5l jug this leaves 2l in the 5l jug
dump out 3 l jug
pour the 2l that is in the 5l jug, into the 3l jug
fill the 5l jug
top off the 3l jug from the 5l jug, this leaves 4l remaining in the 5l jug.
