Posted: 6/18/2005 6:12:03 AM | I have been on this site about two or three weeks now. I have exchanged emails with many and spoken on the phone with three and met no one in person.
Right now I'm more concerned with seeing if I can even met any friends here rather then met anyone to date...

Met another and he had been in a horrible motorcycle accident five years ago. He now has a hip replacement, two new knees, aluminum jaws... he is having more surgery in a few weeks, too, to get some teeth because he lost his in the accident. His fiancee was killed in the accident, too. Needless to say this person had some issues. I understand why the photos and profile didn't reveal this, but there were more issues surrounding this person than I am willing to take on as a single parent. He turned out to be one of those people who don't take 'no' very easily. He called me three times in five hours to make sure I made it home... I live only ten miles or so from him, and answered the phone the first two times he called, so on the third I told him he was being too pushy.
So, I'm not exactly batting one hundred here on this end. | |

Not in that cute 'Freddy Kruger' kinda 'I'm gonna have a funny tag line right before I drive my finger knives into you' sorta way either. It was more like what I imagine it must have felt like for the boats pulling up to the Normandy Beach on D-day. Yeah, watch the first 10 minutes of 'Saving Private Ryan', that's it. That's my one encounter. I won't get into specifics, I don't want to hurt feelings, but...yeah. Bad, bad, bad. In Fact, I have several rules about dating that I have picked up over the years, based on bad experiences. Here is my revised top 10 dating No-No's:
10.) Never Date a Woman Who Owns a Pick-Up Truck
9.) Never Date a Woman Who Rescues Mean Junk Yard Dogs
8.) Never Date a Woman Who Has Been 'Home Schooled'
7.) Never Date a Woman Who Can't Spell 'Sixty'
6.) Never Date a Woman Who Has Been to a 'New Kids On The Block' Concert
5.) Stop Dating a Woman Who Cries After Sex
4.) Never Date a Woman with One Leg and an Eye Patch (Unless She's a Pirate)
3.) Stop Dating a Woman Who Never Wants to Have Morning Sex
2.) (formerly number 1) Never have sex with a woman who has had sex with a friend (no
matter how long ago it was)
And the new number one dating No-No: (drum role) Never meet a woman off the internet.
and keep in mind: these are all based on experience and are in no way inteded to insult any woman on this site (especially pirate women. Cause that's just HOT!!! I mean...C'MON!!) | |

Like, would he say stuff like: "I HAVE NOT tried to move out of my mother's basement" and "I DID NOT realize what a loser I AM being". All that AND you had a date with an aluminum man? How freakin' cool is that? You had lunch with a freakin' cyborg!!! that is cool. Hey, good stories if nothin' else (unless you have the slightest bit of empathy, which I don't, then...y'know, you gotta feel sorry for them...I guess). Man, sorry bout that. Thanks for the laugh though. Jesus!!!! A lunch date with "The Relationship Terminator", or, or "The Space Invader", or, how bout "Jaws" from the bond flicks? Whew. good stuff. | |

I figure that the people on match are actually paying to do this so they must be pretty hard up for a date( i was just using the free trial, lol) , POF is free, so people are more laid back, people are not wasting their money away to find "love" and your more able to meet people for the sake of just meeting them and making new friends not just a "lover" and I think that makes it much more fun. POF ROCKS!!!LOL. | |
