Posted: 10/16/2005 9:52:39 AM | __Hmmm.....Hundreds, in a large group get together. In small groups, 10 to 20 for our weekly coffee meet & greet. Dated one only, so far.
__We now meet regularly for coffee's on Friday evenings. These are a non stressful way to meet face to face with no string attached.
__We are planning some activities like walking tours, pot luck dinners, pool nights, etc.
__So ask me again in a few months, things will be different then.

It's odd because I have way better luck on Lava (I've met several people face-to-face), but there I have to pay to message people... So when I heard of this site I thought "Great, I'll be able to meet interesting people for free"... So far that has yet to happen 
Oh well, I guess I need a few more fishing rods to catch my ideal prize  | |

Posted: 7/18/2006 8:49:09 AM | Wow, I had to really think on this, but not too long...as I haven't been out of my house on any real dates this years... So it made it easy to figure this out...I wasn't sure what this exactly meant..so I after going thru the pages of comments, It looks like just going for a cup of coffee is considered a "date"? Well I have done this twice, but with the same person, this year.
Also I had another meeting at a coffee shop early spring, which was a complete wash out, we talked on the phone for a what I thought was a long time, 4 wks or so, and he was getting impatiant, with me for not meeting him. I didn't like being push like this at all. I wish I had had more back bone here, and told him to just move on...then when we did meet. He thought he was just really just too much, I didn't just see it. Him and his brand new Audi. Wow. It really wasn't worth the tip I added as he didn't leave enough.. or the gas I used to get there...lol..I think I did learn something though. Not to be pushed into something again..
But totally, I have met 3 people since last year, I dropped out for awhile, thinking I was out of this fishbowl, at least for dating, not for forums anyway, never!!...but my first date turned out to be one my best friends, and still is. He will take my phone call at anytime...if I need to talk to him.
Friends on here, too many to count.. especially in these forums,, what would I do without them. I come in here when I have nothing to do or no one talk to late at night, obviously...and I spill my guts. I get back-up from some of most awesome people from the most awesome places in the World, I hope I never lose them. The best FREE therapy in World. I hope Plenty of Fish, never figures out how much It's appreciated..or we might have to pay soon..huh? shhhhhh.. That one-eye moderator is probably watching me..
We are not organized enough and the area is so large in Pa for us to get something in Southwest Central for a gathering ... I wish we could get something started.. great idea....It's always over by York or Erie...that's really too far from us.. anyone with a good head have the time?? I have never heard anything that positive maybe if it's run with a good sponser... ehhh? Smile, sounds like you need a serious head on your shoulders to get it organized right? Rainbowfish**** we are posting at the same time and I am getting exactly what you are saying about the Cessna guy.. very funny.. you did the right thing girl!!

I know I met 2 people more than once, but not more than 3 times lol
Even with them stating friends, I seem not to be good enough. Tis a shame lol | |

you beat my record for meets... although mine were one to one..
about 200 and I must say I was not impressed with 99.9%...
so much misrepresentation on dating sites ( not POF guys but pay sites)
still....
wow girl you must have nerves of steel and a stomach to match
if you ran into anything like I did !
Had the strangest of people show up... often making me want to
run...
After awhile you learn to read profiles better.. as in between the lines and can avoid
so many of the bad surprises.
Still its hard to know if someone has drinking or drug issues until you actually meet
them.
One date I had.. the guy drank so much... he fell asleep under his cessna
and I just left him there.

I've met ppl in the bars but, not from POF. Maybe I should leave this alone for awhile.

I did make a couple of good email friends though. It's tough finding the one we know is right from the first moment. | |

One decided he didn't want to date someone with small kids even though it is posted on my profile and said that I was a wonderful lady and the other said he is not ready to date but I was a wonderful woman. What's up with having a profile on here if you are not ready to date? Anyway told the first one after a month just because a woman has small kids doesn't mean they are lookin for a dad. Mine have a dad. Mommy needs someone. lol  Anyway no hard feelings just need to read profiles before contacting that person so you know about the person you are meeting. | |
