Posted: 7/18/2006 4:47:01 PM | | I've met I think 2, both seemed really cool when you were talking to them over an IM system, but as soon as you got into a room with them and met them face to face, they were boneheads (you know who you are) whp just wanted to get in your pants (not that it's a bad thing, but some of us on this thing still have morals) that has kind of made me weary of meeting people.. Plus there are some people who use other people's pics so you never really know what they're like... | |

Posted: 8/11/2006 9:44:02 AM | i've met more than a handful thats for sure, maybe more than 35 even, i woulnt be able to remember them all cause ive found that a lot of people ive met off this site usually is from accidentally bumpin into them on the streets/club. i however never recognize them or know who they are but they seem to recognize me, even the ones that never even written to me. this site must be big.
but ones that i purposely went out to meet must be around 15 or so and every single one of them have been nice and i have no regrets :D especially no regrets in meetin this one guy, he was so much hotter than his pic and his personality could not have even been shown thru the internet, im glad i got to see him in person. he was so amazin...my dream man, too bad we are both such stubborn people :( | |

The other was flaky, but I got out with just one beer.
I think it's a waste of time on POF. I usually have better luck in a bar. Somehow, being a nerd inside, I just feel more confortable in front of a computer than talking to strangers face to face. | |

I am supposed to be meeting with another soon and will see where things go from there. I have not made that special connection with that one special person yet but have made some great friends and am still hoping the next one will be my keeper.  | |

We met at the wharf and then went to the beach... no one was around except for us... it was late afternoon... We sat on a blanket and listened to the waves crashing in. Afterwards, we took a drive to my old house where we decided to camp out. We sat by the crackling fire in the fireplace and talked for hours. It couldn't have been any more romantic, I tell ya.  | |

One from another site, who traveled a great distance to meet, after months of e-mails, IMs and phone calls. It was really awful! 
As a result, if a face to face meeting doesn't happen reasonably soon, I tend to begin pulling back,, I just don't want to invest too much emotionally.

Posted: 8/12/2006 2:12:35 PM | I have met a dozen men from this site; not counting the two no-shows. I enjoyed meeting all of them; four of them in particular were very interesting. Several are still friends. I have been to two of the POF events, the first dinner at New India in June and one of the POF brunches at Fresgo's in Surrey in April. I have chatted with lots and continue to but have changed my status to looking for friends because I am currently involved with someone that I didn't meet online and I don't believe in multiple partners.
I find the forums fun - for the most part they are a laugh, but every once in awhile I find one that is interesting. | |

Two meets were just as friends, one I thought would be more but it didnt work out that way
The other 2 ..there was a mutual connection, started to see them, wanted it to continue but I am not sure why or what happened exactly.
The most recent I hope the friendship lasts.

Posted: 8/12/2006 2:52:56 PM | Met 1 and he almost tried to rape me in the parking lotand talked to another guy once on the phone for 2 days..and by the second day he started to tell me that he loves me and being very werid and I went out with my sister to Wal-Mart and he started to call me like 62 times on cell phone yelling at me that im cheating with on him with another guy when I was with my sister at Wal-Mart I told him hes scaring me and told him not to call me ever again..then he somehow got my moms and grandpas home phone calling them every 5min to see if I was home ans to see where I was..of couse he still called my cell phone and my sister got pissed and told him to leave me alone that I don't want to talk to him he called her a b1tch and to back off thats in none of her bunisess...of course he wrote on PoF while I was @ Wal-mart and wrote 6 times..saying hes gonna come buy and that hes sorry and he really needs to talk to me that its imporant and and also said hes callin the cops lol I dont know for what..anways he end up callin my moms again while me and my sis got there..cussed and told hes gonna shoot my sister in her face and made all these threats to kill my family..well I told him that I had the whole convo recored(which i was lying) im callin the cops..and tried to call his cell phone 2 mins later to see if he would stop and what do u know it says hes cell phone has been disconnected:p and he never called me again:D...Y do I have bad luck:( lol I guess dating sites aren't for me

There is less presure and everyone always has a good time..Plus..You can walk away and end the evening anytime you like.
I highly recommend meeting people like that...
Meeting someone special is an added bonus....( right sunshine??) | |
