So you can see what you will get in the divorce.
LMFAO rock hunter I was thinking it shows me what he got in his divorce....Not that I've been in many bachelor pads, but most tend to be remnants of their prior marriage.
I think most people have at least one pic of them taken in their home, as it is where we usually spend at least 1/3 of our time (even if it is sleeping).
They call out to you for your wisdom, your color co-ordinating talents, and your percale Egyptian cotton sheets from Martha Stewart's store. Don't turn your back on them, and let such a man's life be wasted.....duty calls you. I'm thinking of starting a telethon, or an "adopt-a-clueless-decorator-man-for-life " program. Monsteal Guy....I think some of us have already gone there. I just got a call yesterday from a guy I met on POF a few months ago. We're friends but not fwb. He wanted to know if I'd go over and look at his bathroom (bet you thought I was going to say bedroom, eh?) He liked what I had done with my place and he's clueless. I'm only too happy to help.
I've noticed a lot of women whose pics were taken at motels, and hotel /restaraunt lobbies, wooooaah, are they too embarrassed to show their living room
Well dang caskey, if all a woman had was photos in motels or hotels, you might wonder if she's a 'working girl' and those are her 'living rooms'.
I'll try the garden next time!
Do you mean like this? <<<<<<<<<<<<<
Everyone's tastes are different. If someone doesn't my pics, then they weren't for me.

I was able to snag the empty milk crates from the back of a local 7-11. And the cool part is, when I get bored of my couch, I can turn it into two club chairs with end tables, a chaise, or when I have people over to watch a movie, I can tier them for that theater effect......... BTW, any one know how I can hook up my beta machine to my 4.5" black and white t.v.??
I wonder if I'm out of the OP's league????

I may be in the minority here, but I kind of like the "sad little bachelor apartments" some guys live in. The ones with minimal furniture and nothing on the walls. I much prefer those to the ones who decorate their apartments like they are still teenagers with framed posters or stolen street signs on the walls.
I am pretty content in the idea that MOST men have no decorating sense and and MOST men have no desire to decorate. I'm totally okay with that. It just makes it easier for me to imagine forcing my decorating ideas on them in the event that the relationship should move on to that stage. And I'm REALLY okay with that as decorating happens to be one of my favorite things to do.
Ha ha ha, i like you already! I can already imagen how much you would love my appartment ha ha ha.

"...I can understand if your profile photo is of you in front of your motorcycle, sportcar or boat -- but why would you post a photo of yourself in the living room of your sad little bachelor apartment?! Do you have any idea how not-appealing this is? .."
Because if she and I become a "pair" she (and I) will be spending lots of "quality/intimate" time in that "sad little apartment", and especially on its bed! Not on a boat or hiking the Himalayas or scuba diving for the remains of the Titanic!
So, as other posters said, it weeds out certain types!

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/18/2008 12:40:34 AM | | Wow... I've never, ever even thought of where a guy takes his picture at. So what if he has a sad apartment? At least he's living on his own. That has to be one of the most shallow things I've heard! | |

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/18/2008 12:44:46 AM | Has it already been asked whether it's okay to take pictures of ourselves in strangers' apartments? Because I know some people that can help me do that easy. | |

Hey guys,
I can understand if your profile photo is of you in front of your motorcycle, sportcar or boat -- but why would you post a photo of yourself in the living room of your sad little bachelor apartment?! Do you have any idea how not-appealing this is?

I think the room depicted in my apartment looks rather festive...but then again, I could also give a rats ass if some skank on the internet doesn't like my walls, or even me for that matter.
Not that the OP is a skank, i make no contention either way.

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/19/2008 9:22:36 PM | Oh wow, this lady would just love my profile!
Honestly though, I don't take pictures in front of my cars because I don't want to seem like a show off. That and my computer randomly died, with the past 4 years of photos stored on it. So now the only pictures I have are ones that I have hard copies of, or photos stored on disk. Thus I have to take pictures in my pathetic, worthless sh*thole. You know, sometimes there are actually decent reasons behind the way things are. Not everyone that has a picture in their pathetic, unworthy home is a loser. Some of them just lost all of their photos.
It's amazing how shallow some people can be, although it really shouldn't be. Nobody even responds to messages on this website. The pictures in your profile are supposed to be about the human in the photo, not the surroundings. Granted, some surroundings could be odd. Seriously though, if it's a living room then obviously they wanted to be the focus of the picture rather than the background. Don't you have better things to nit pick about?

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/22/2008 1:28:27 AM | Re post 12 as it relates to the Opost:
How did I miss such a telling post?
"I may be in the minority here, but I kind of like the "sad little bachelor apartments" some guys live in. The ones with minimal furniture and nothing on the walls. I much prefer those to the ones who decorate their apartments like they are still teenagers with framed posters or stolen street signs on the walls."
Minimalism - "Spartanism" in home ec and deco is the way to go, IMO. For men and women. With economic and oil, cost of living, need for mobility, ease to clean the apartment, other demands on the life of a man or a couple (eg career).
"I am pretty content in the idea that MOST men have no decorating sense and and MOST men have no desire to decorate."
TOTALLY wrong, IMO. IMO many men have a deco sense, but it is a "Spartan" one!
:"I'm totally okay with that. It just makes it easier for me to imagine forcing my decorating ideas on them in the event that the relationship should move on to that stage." a) Kidding? b) If not, think again. Most men with Spartan deco philosophies will defend their deco ideas as valiantly as Leonidas guarded the Thermopylae, and unlike Leo, they will succeed! lol lol
"And I'm REALLY okay with that as decorating happens to be one of my favorite things to do." Applying this hobby on BFs or SOs with a Spartan deco POV in not the best way to apply this hobby/skill.
The "Spartan" deco style is here to stay! Cheers

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/22/2008 11:02:18 AM | Hmmm...I smell GOLDDIGGER
The guy who takes that picture probably is looking for a woman who likes his appearance, not a vette or mansion behind him.
I know some guys use things like the appearence of great wealth to bed women who are gold diggers. I guess women who take the bait get what they deserve in the end.

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/24/2008 9:05:40 PM | I don't understand the photo of men in front of their motorcycle, sportscar or boat. I assume the men in my age range own things. I don't really need the proof. Does anyone want to see a picture of me standing in front of my food processor or holding up a toaster?
If this a style question?
Really all I want to see is the persons face and to read a friendly and engaging post.

| Why a photo of you in your apartment?! Posted: 7/25/2008 1:13:44 PM | What if the apartment is all they can afford? At least they have a roof over their head, money to buy a camera and a computer to put the picture on. Unappealing would be if he were living in downtown Vegas as a homeless man in an old refrigerator box getting his picture taken by a tourist that felt sorry for him, gave it to him so then the homeless man can go to the library, scan, download and use the PC there for a few hours a day. Otherwise, I am sorry....an apartment is better than nothing....and what if he was at a party at a friend's apartment and the picture was taken? You don't see comments underneath saying "At my buddy's house - Would be embarrassed if these were my digs."
I don't mean to be offensive here, but you are being way too judgmental. If you are a golddigger, be thankful you got the pic with which to jump to conclusions so you can move on until you find the profile wherein he is on a y acht with a drink in hand (but then again for that go to sugardaddies.com). At some point, I hope you learn to give a man a break in life.
