Have to second missdennisen3's assertion (sorry if not spelled exactly right) that the OP is not "all that" to some people... 
And I will go on record here and declare, I have been guilty of wondering this myself a few times. I say a "few" because I agree, seeing a lesser attractive (to the beholder) individual with someone more attractive is the exception, rather than the rule. Whenever I have observed what I felt was a disparity between attractiveness I would do a double-take and ask, "How on earth did she land HIM?" And, it must be noted that it is usually a chunkier woman, with varying looks of, in my view, prettiness, with a hotter guy (ie. great body, really handsome face...). The unspoken question then, is naturally, if she can get a guy like that, why can't I? 
But it is not a question which continues to vex me. Obviously as I get older, I acknowledge the many nuances that make up "attraction". What does it for her does nothing for me, and vice versa and blah blah blah...
Though, I must admit, when bestowed with generous flattery by someone I perceive as quite attractive, I often wonder, "Are you serious? What is it you're seeing?" Logically, I can attest to my attractiveness, but when I succumb to those ^^ type of inquiries, I know it is merely my insecurities rearing their ugly little heads  and that is something deeply ingrained and hard to overcome, grrrr... | |

Posted: 11/11/2008 8:36:15 PM | I have seen both, where the woman is "good looking" and the guy is "so-so looking" and the woman is "so-so Looking" and the guy is "good looking". And yes I have wondered why is the "good looking" one with the "so-so looking" one and have felt, why can't that be me.
In high school I have seen guys, treat girls like crap, and they would have girls hanging all over them. I would be nice to girls and no one would give me the time of day. Why? I also seen guys who were smart have girls hang all over them. I have seen guys who were dumber than a door have girls hanging all over them. I have even seen guys who were very obese have girls that looked like models as girlfriends. I have seen almost every sort of combination imaginable, but yet I have yet to find someone for me.
I guess I will never understand women!!

"Babes" date guys who are secure, have their shit in order, and know exactly what it means to be a MAN. Confidence, social awareness, health, and security are all well above LOOKS on a scale of what a woman looks for in a man, moreso when the woman is considered attractive, because they tend to have high standards, and need more of the important check-boxes ticked, looks not necessarily being high on that list.
Men are the visual creature of the species, not women. Technically, we're the shallow ones, it's just the way we've evolved, dating back to prehistoric times, when tribal leaders (with... surprise surprise; confidence, social awareness, health, and security) got to choose their mates, usually the best looking females of the group. It's been hard-wired into our DNA and it's programmed the way men and women choose who to be with.

Why would a babe date an ugly guy? sometimes for money I can understand, though not in this example. pity relationship? maybe, but for how long? getting nasty with an attractive person vs. an ugly person is a different experience, especially in the long run... if this guy is not completly fat and completely balb now, he will be in a few years. cause he has a great personality? again, that goes for a little while, but long run?

Have you ever met a "Fox"that didn't know she was a "Fox"? ~ While I admit , it's rare ~ but I have several times ~ little country girls mostly ~ you want to find a "darling" ~ start looking 150 ~ miles outside the big cities.
The understanding of and value of currency is regional. ~ In some circles, pretty tatoo's hold as much value as pretty teeth.

Or, for a man, it's a nice shirt and solid, pretty horse and personal good manners. ~
