Gauss is a measurement of magnetic flux density within a magnetic field. You are at more risk of becoming ill from sunspots (which interfere with the Earth's magnetic field) than you are from a microwave oven (which doesn't).
If magntic flux is harmless why did CRT makers greatly reduce emissions of stray EMI?

i dont think its that bad though, well, warming up the food in it that is.

| Is microwave cooking bad for you? Posted: 8/23/2008 7:28:26 AM | | Yes..microwaves are bad..unn kay. They are part of a Government plot to give us all cancer, and I have a suspicion that Orville Redenbacher was in on it (never trusted that guy, but that kettle corn is awesome). The atomic bombs they set off every week while our parents and grandparents stood out in the streets of Nevada and watched while a radioactive cloud drifted over the whole country had nothing to do with cancer increasing..it was those damn microwave ovens. I think we should all retreat to the woods and live in a hut and burn animal turds to cook with to escape the plot. | |

| Is microwave cooking bad for you? Posted: 8/23/2008 4:47:30 PM | My grandmother used to tell me back in the 40s when she assembled bombers for the military when they got one in the cafeteria. In college we talked about this and dave and who ever said it is radio waves is correct. Its interesting the new products that come out a lot are harmful and i believe.
A lot more technology is out there and the public is really stupid on using it. Microwaves were coming out and people thinking to dry off the poodle was a good thing.
Remote old style clickers used to give women headaches.
Plasma cutters at first introduced people dont know how dangerous they were.
First tests for the atom bomb the govts knew how bad fall out was and testing and they let it happen.
Hanford the same of one of two places Einstein visited during the creation of the atom bomb. They tested nuclear radioactivity on the public a few yrs later what towns where down south people started getting cancer.
Same thing with flouride they put it in the water table telling people it is good for them. Hitler did the same thing to his own people to make them more easily controlled.
A lot like that went on my through my grandfathers words he was in italy and germany during the war. Thing he talked about i have never seen in a history book.
Going over board just a good subject.
I think microwaves today are a good thing i mean we use them big ones to glue together wood and build with. And most people i have meet cannot cook out of a box. I look at the tv and see women cooking from a tv show to those playboy women their own moms cannot cook. A study two years ago said most men in a marriage cook today. I just remember it being high. I believe in the study a cook book i gave a good friend and his wife for a wedding present. Well 9 years has passed and two three moves it is still in the plastic wrapping.
I think of the old version the time machine when people have things given to them over things get so easy. I guess i am just giving my two pickles is it bad for everyone society.

Once the nuker stops beeping it's safe to open..Never ever open it before...You will go sterile...Apparently a hotdog tend's to hold the radiation so it's not recommended to cook em in the microwave..

You could also try this experiment with an egg. Even messier.
