Posted: 7/17/2008 7:18:44 PM | I have yet to meet a woman in person who let's me control the kitchen. They say they like a man who cooks, but don't meet me cuz I live in a mobile home. I refuse to buy a half million dollar house just for me and 3 cats. I stopped driving my 4x4 to work and bought a scooter to save $225 a month on gas.
As for the other post, a whole pizza lasts me 1 meal. i make my own bbq sauce and sweet & sour sauce. Let that cook in the crock pot while at work all day. During the week I cook 1 meal a day as I eat at work. | |

I think as a guy I find it easier to throw a salad together with a bunch of precooked chicken or reheat leftovers because I'm not necessarily interested in how it tastes. Moreso just interested in satiating that feeling of hunger in my belly. However. On those said special occasions I do pride myself on my ability to prepare a well made meal, just as I think any guy would. And I'm not talking about boiling some premade pasta and sauce and throwing a candle on the table. I'm saying spending an entire afternoon preparing a high grade dinner, I myself for special occasions will make sushi for my guests. | |

It's not because I have to, it's because I like to. I don't enjoy cooking, I enjoy eating. I'd rather talk to someone or read the newspaper while a professional cooks my food, thank you. If a woman wants me to cook for her, I'll be glad to, but I'd really rather be going down on her while the chef and delivery men take care of the nourishment chores. I like to think most women would like that option. | |

I do eat at home more with all this craziness with the economy so I concentrate on meals that are healthy and simple, mostly fresh fruits, veggies and lean meats. I don't cook elaborate meals. If I want a quality elaborate meal I will eat out at a quality restaurant. That is what makes it a treat for me. I get something I could probably cook myself but I don't have to cook it and it is done by a professional.
I can cook rather well and if I enjoyed doing it, I would do it more often and get rather good at it. But I choose not to. Just as I choose not to get good at housework and have hired a housekeeper. Transferable activities, would I rather spend my time cleaning the house and cooking or doing something I actually enjoy doing. I vote for the latter. That is why I work so hard, so I can have the free time to do what I don't and hire for the things I don't. | |

Truthfully I rarely tell women this, since it seems to annoy women when a man cooks better then they do. Its not a competition after all -- but some women truly seem insulted over it. Sometimes it is better to plead ignorance on this skill set.

I have met a bunch of women that can bake like no other, but I would crush (visualize Dolph Lungren from Rocky) them in a cook off, respectfully.
I would bet that most guys just keep their cooking down to a minimum to avoid pandering! | |

OP, you find an easier, more effective Carp bait, and I'll concentrate on cooking for myself more. Till then, I'm just going to go the simplest route, like London Broil,7 Bean Stew, and Corn on the Cob , and the like. | |

I also like to make bruschetta but that's not cooking, lol. I love to eat it on WASA bread, but I'm always putting stuff on multi-grain WASA. It's not exactly normal bread though, it's like a super tasty, nutritional, massive cracker. I make it unhealthy sometimes by putting butter on it and then slicing some pepperoni and putting that on top, haha! The cats love pepperoni too, so they always force me to share when I make pepperoni WASA. :-) | |

He had an upset stomach that night and all the next day because it was not a smart thing to say, especially to me. Mostly though, I did it for nutrition's sake when I was trying to lose weight. No more Kraft Dinner and microwave dinners for me thx. About the fanciest thing I can make is spaghetti with homemade veggie/meat sauce, but at least I can feed myself without the nuker.  | |
