Very family oriented.... not materialistic, and wanted to take care of me and make me feel proud of her. American women are rarely like this. They watch too much TV and get the idea that looking beautiful is what they should spend their time on. Not all American women are like this, but enough to make it hard to find a decent one. | |

Both of them received their husbands' money before their marriages.
The money was for their birthday gifts. Interesting thing was they never spent the money they received from their husbands. They brought the money to the U. S., which really touched their husbands who have truly had excellent learning behaviors... Men should be able to be touched by women's small good actions or learn from women's goodness... | |

Now I don't think my English is worse than many Americans. You should know that many American guys like smart, fit , and younger look foreign women...because they cannot find one with the same qualities in the U.S. or women with the same qualities in the U.S. don't want them...

I'm not against the whole "mail-order bride" thing. If fact, I think it's a great alternative to local dating sites like this one. Filipinas are good with money, I'm sure of that. I had a Thai-born and American-raised Hmong co-worker who went to Manila to train call center workers over there. On the flight back, he met a Filipina living in California on the flight back. Now they're married and have children. What's funny is I and his family kept teasing him about finding a wife before he went.
Part of the reason Filipinas are good with money is because many of them come from large families. And yes, they want a better life, not only for themselves but also for their family back home. While you're over there, you might want to be careful her relatives don't take advantage of you. When you're married and she's working, you might want to keep an account of where all of her money is going. It could be going back to her family in the Philippines. If you're not a rich guy, you might want to limit how much she sends back to her family. Remember this, a Filipina's family is always going to be more important to her than any American guy.
Generally yes, it's a bad idea to send money to anybody you're not involved in a real relationship yet. What I mean by that is don't send her money until you have gone to the Philippines and met her and her family. In fact, if you want to bring a Filipina (or any other foreign woman) to the States on a fiancee visa, you have to show proof you visited her in the past year or two. There are do-it-yourself fiancee visa kits, but it's best to trust an immigration attorney or Catholic Charities. You pay them and they handle the paperwork and the American legal system.
I had a Brazilian girlfriend for three years. I even went there and met her and her family. They were great people! However, my ex had a career as a high school Portuguese teacher. There, you go to some trade school for that, not to a 4-year university and certification. Besides, a job like that would be hard to find here. Once I let her know that, she didn't want to leave Brazil. So next time I'll look for someone who has a job or career she could easily get here. After we broke up, I did write to other Brazilian girls. One from Fortaleza even asked me for $200 for her home improvement project. Funny, first week was "I love you" and second week was "Send me money". Believe it or not, she was the only Brazilian girl who even asked me for money. Of course I didn't send her any! 
Yes, normally speaking, an American guy can get a young, hot girl from another country that he'd have to have great looks and/or money to get (and maintain) locally. In many cases you're not the only one writing to her, so she gets to choose too. However, not too many guys go to her country and meet her and her family, so if you do, you stand out. Also, you stand out if you speak the local language. In the Philippines they know English, but most of the time that's not going to be the case in Latin America.
Also, just because she's a foreign woman doesn't mean she knows how to cook. Having been a single guy for many years and getting tired of every meal coming from a restaurant or a food from a box you take out and stick in the oven or microwave, I've learned how to cook some. I know how to clean house and do my own laundry. A pet can be a decent companion, but you're always cleaning up after them. Plus, having a pet in your bed isn't the same as having a living, breathing woman in your bed with you.
Funny thing is, years ago on a Russian mail-order bride site I saw a quote: "It's much easier to teach a Russian woman English than it is to teach an American woman how to be a good wife."  | |

She seems great. Has anyone had any experience of scams and con artists communicating with Westerners to try to rip them off?
Chinese women don't like to hold any debt and one of them can talk to you by using English. Before worring about if a Chinese woman is a scammer, you should think about how smart you are. What do you have for her to rip you off? Normal American guys are poorer than well-educated Chinese women! | |

As time passes, onoe by one, these woman blled the guy dry, get him in trouble with hiswork and the law claiming abuse of one kind or another, divorce him and get a big chunk of his check. Of course after hey have brought most of theirfamily here. I know how I sound making a generalized statemen like this, but I can only g by what I have seen and I have seen thisplenty of times.
" there is a dowry from the Groom's family to the Bride's family" says alot, the samming starts with the family pimping out the daughter like a whore. That should tell you alot about the moral fabric se is raised with.
If I were you OP, I would be very very cautious, if she is that into you, let her make her way here and if it works out and you feel a need to, reinburse her for the expenses later. | |

These girls threw everything there to follow these guys, but these guys abused them. I don't think federal laws help foreigners against federal citizens . These guys should be bad. I have communicated with so many American guys. Many of them are just craps... | |

But there is something to be said for Asian ladies. It's not all about money. There are rotten apples in every race, but I dated a woman from Vietnam for 2 years. We're still friends and I find her to be the kindest, most gentle soul I've ever met. Likes her toys (Lexus) but she herself works very hard for them and never asked anything of me except occasional kindness and affection when she's not working. We kinda fizzled in the romantic department but we still call each other from time to time and I have nothing but fondness for her, a truly great lady.
She's already a U.S. citizen though. I'd be leary about foreign girls using marriage to get citizenship. Find one who is already here and has her green card. | |
