I have to say for me, turning 40 was quite significant - especially as I threw the biggest house party that I ever had in my entire life....I must admit it did change me though - I stopped procrastinating for a start.....started doing all those things I kept putting off. Hence, I have made many changes that I will never regret.
Mind you I won't be announcing my 50th with a big bash - think I'l just share that with close friends....I know it's just a number but I can wait..

Posted: 7/25/2008 4:32:33 PM | Got 3 years to plan mine and i'm looking forward to it as I now see it as just a number and nothing more. I did have a huge problem with hitting 30 though as I thought that meant I was old haha what a fool I was as it's no big deal.

i planned mine for ages and it was the best day of my life. got up and ready and went out for breakfast. then went to the salon to get my eyes and waxing done. home to pick up case then away to check into the hotel overnight. my friend who is a hairdresser came to the hotel to do my hair. my nail girl came to do my nails and makeup. only surprise i didnt know about was pals picking me up in a pink limo for a drive round etc on route to my party. party was amazing although i didnt want "me in the middle" kind of dances/songs. i did have a raffle to raise money for cancer.
back to the hotel slightly worse for wear and off to tenerife for a weeks holiday 2 days later to recover.
cost me a fortune but worth every penny.
its been the beginning of a new era for me definately.

Each birthday means you are a year older not neccesarily wiser however people spend their biorthdays the way they want to. Im 45 now and have decided that when i reach 50 i wont be having a party wont be doing any "special" and why because ive been there and done that just hope ill be able to spend the night in with someone special snuggling up on the sofa peace and quiet just 2 of us. Yeah i know IN MY DREAMS maybe a takeaway chineese/pizza. Ok thats the wishfull thinking done with for today back to the real world. | |
