Posted: 3/25/2006 12:16:11 PM | Hi! You guys all crack me up!!  I fail to see the problem here aside for me being oblivious.
OT: Interracial relationships/ marriages are the only kind I go for as I am Canadian but my ethnic background is Chinese but born and raised in good old "conservative" Wpg. I do not like to date Asian men as I am "not enough" Chinese for their families as I am what they call "assimilated" in the dominant culture of being Westernized. I do maintain my Chinese roots to some extent but am not fluent in the language but can get by in conversation.
We learn from each other cultures the only true Canadians are the Aboriginal peoples and they also have a wonderful culture that we ALL can appreciate.
I never knew how to make perogies before or homemade jam, borshct, cheese, spanokopitas, Sachertortes, etc. I appreciate any European dishes primarily German and Italian desserts. Most of my friends are Caucasian with European backgrounds.
Growing up in a conservative town, yes there is prejudicism but learn to deal with it. Therefore I am extremely assertive and defend myself. I don't like to use my "trump card" to play discrimination that to me is really sad as people are not living life according to their own skill level/ social repoitoire. Just functioning on their own ignorance.
Interracial marriages/relationships produce the most beautiful looking children as I have 2 myself  
Half of my family have married outside of my culture (acutally an even split which I find interesting).
I agree that bigger cities do have more interracial couples as pple living there are more liberal minded as well as progressive. It's a matter of the willingness to go out of your comfort zone and pple are pple!

Posted: 3/25/2006 9:18:52 PM | LOL,......was keeping up with some of these comments in here, and pretty much is all good in replys,...on the other hand unfortunatly I do not meet as many nice people out in the real world as I run into racism everyday, and the majority of my girl friends have all been anything other then Native which I am so I too do the interracial dating thing,......... but ,.........lol.I have enjoyed some of the peoples comments in here which are good,....and I had added one of the females from in here cause her comments were very nice,.I thought it would be nice to have a live chat with her, so thus seen her online ,....IM'd her,.........she opens her chat box,...........and closes it right away,...LMFAO,..........so is she racist as well and calling her bluff in the forums BS'ing everyone ,..........which is possible.....anyway is all good,.lol ,.......a hint to her,....as she lives in the sticks too  | |

Sorry but this is something I can never get behind, I think we should all date within our race. I am all for live and let live, but I mean come on people, once you start dating outside you race, where will it stop?. Nope I will never condone it, Call me a prude if you must but I will stick to dating within the human race. | |

Mixing things up can be a lot of fun!
In my case, having an Italian mother and a Polish father was great but what made it even more interesting was being born and raised in Latin America.
I have tried, but my preference is a mixed man. Perhaps there is more harmony in having a broader perspective, or being able to be more expressive and less politcally correct! Oh and then there is the profuse affection thing...mmm-mm
Last but not least for me is the terms of endearment that exist in other languages...tresor...dulce...amor mio...carino...etc. etc. *sigh* I'm meltiiiiing!
