I love a good thunderstorm. When my kids were young I used to turn off all the lights and light some candles, and we would sit by the window and watch the lightning show. I always feel a sense of intensity when there's a good storm, I can't really describe it. It's exciting. I can feel the fury of the storm, it's energizing. Recently though, in one of the storms that we had this year, a house not too far from where I am was struck by lightning, and pretty much that was the end of the house. That is the unfortunate part of the storms.

I bet you get better storms than I do though sens fan, if you live so close to the river. A lot of the storms have not really reached where I live, I'm just that much too far from the river, and the good storms tend to follow the river more. Been bypassed a lot by the storms this year. I did go to Britannia Park though one Saturday, sat on the rocks by the water and watched it storm on the Quebec side. It was a very nice show in a very nice spot.

On the funny side, I worked with a woman who was absolutely terrified of thunderstorms. Thank goodness she had a good boss. She used to shut off all the lights and computers, unplug the phones, and anything else that was plugged in. Then she would hide under her desk. One day she was heading home from work and a storm started, so she ducked into a movie theatre to wait it out. Of course, she never realized it was over, she was so engrossed in the movie, and her family and coworkers were combing the route she took home looking for her. It took her awhile to live that one down.

I have seen a catogry 4 tornado, and I was in Florida when hurricane David I believe that wiped out Homestead. Let me tell you, It is no fun to be in the path of that. Wind is one of natures strong forses, but water is even stronger.
