Sheesh, there are behavior traits that indicate when someone's lying. Doesn't take psychic abilities just observation skills.

They're common, very FEW are good enough to beat a lie detector test, most not. One of many reasons they aren't used as evidence in court.

I am not certain how would psychic abilities would affect my relationship, since whether one of us or two of us have those abilities, we are still human, anyways. I thought last poster was hinting that having those abilities make you super human, or at least not human.

In fact I believe we all posses those abilities, but only few of us take the time to develop it, but it is far from unusual. As far as relationship is concerned those abilities don't help us to determine the future or the outcome of the situation. But we get that 'sense' of knowing what to do. I think many of us may deny that those things exist because we are not comfortable and afraid of unknown. I have had some glimpses into those abilities, that I knew were not 'an every day' kind of thing, it scared the hell out of me. I think at this point I probably shut it down, mind you it has been long time ago.

My point being is that it is not unusual but it takes skill to be able to navigate on different planes. I am not an expert, I tend to think it has got lots to do with our chakhras, because lots of information is stores in those centres, we can learn how to open the chakhrahs, but next step would be to be guided by someone who helps us to navigate through those planes. I have met those people, there was nothing unusual of different about them, they still had their learning to do including their relationship.

I'm not a "psychic" in the classic sense of the word, but after years of development I do possess a highly tuned sense of awareness. I can feel a lie, if you will. Throw in some common sense and instinct, and you're as close to psychic as you can get.

Granted, I also read Tarot, and am not ashamed that I have used them in the past to get answers or direction on certain "on the fence" subjects. They've come in pretty handy.

The thing is, if you have to employ your "psychic" abilities, or Tarot, or Runes or whatnot...then this kinda begs the question as to whether you have the appropriate amount of trust (I loathe that word) for the other partner, right?

If you'd be afraid of such things, then it's clear you have a lot to hide.

Sounds kind of like a cool idea --- he might actually understand what I'm thinking --- then again I quickly see a downside to that one

skaj: You're right. I dated one man for a year, after I left my ex, that had some of my ability. In the evening we'd call each other, say hello and then right away one of us would say "So, so-and-so decided to take you to lunch last minute, eh? Glad it went well.?" or he say "How's the oldest doing? I know she was sent home sick." We didn't live in the same city at the time. The connection we had and how we spoke to each other was totally different then a 'normal' relationship. It was by far the best one I've ever had. Yes, I knew it would end and I knew why but for the first time I wasn't alone, a freak, evil, or a lier. I was just me. I'd never been able to do that before. So I took a chance.

As for being in a relationship with someone who can't (or won't) do as I can, I make it as 'normal' as I can. I only let it show a small bit if I think it's necessary. I let it show a bit too much when my ex and I were first married and it made him nervous. So unless the kids were involved and it was something negative, I didn't say anything more. So, yes, good or bad it does make things a bit different.

As for arguing about whether or not I can do these things, it's ok with me if you don't believe. The world needs skeptics. :)

Yes; we all know that what we see on TV is so real. I mean there are now reality tv schools for people that are going to be on reality shows. I have a friend that is a producer and almost all reality shows are staged and retakes are done. People are so gullable.

I'm so sick of all this psychic stuff; its not real; give me a break.

I'm very serious; If you think you are psychic, then please contact me; I will start making bets on future sporting events and lotteries for us using my money; I will put up the money and you give me the winning numbers and we will split it 50-50. If we lose, then you admit to the world you dont have psychic powers and you pay me back all the money I lost.

People need to start being real and stop all this ridiculous crap.

I come from a long line of people with...abilities. Mostly passed down through the women on my mom's side. Both my parents have spirits that hang around them, as do I. Yes, I can communicate with them. I can also do other things. I do not read thoughts per se but I receive flashes of pictures and emotions. I can see the past and I can see the future. I can also feel energy and can tell things from that.

My thoughts on psychics...
It's like being in an apartment. If the radio is off in your own apartment, you can hear the neighbours...

mthomjmark: Well, of course 'reality' shows aren't reality lol They're one of the reasons I rarely watch tv. Good, I'm glad you don't believe. There are too many charlatans out there that prey on people and if more were even just a bit leary, fewer people would lose money. That won't happen to you.

m_church: That can be it, yes lol I had to learn a long time ago to shut things off, or at least quiet them down or things were kind of noisy.

I agree 100%.If any of these people could predict anything they would be hitting the lotto every other month. These people are only good at predicting human behavior an actions. Nothing more, nothing less.

Could being psychic affect your relationship?

Been a long while since I posted but couldn't resist this one.

There are many different 'types' of psychic gifts, they are all not all one and the same, just as the 5 senses we are more familiar with... sight, hearing, taste etc. are not.

If you equate the unseen or the non-material or even the 'spiritual' as psychic phenomena, then it absolutely must and does exist. Isn't praying a type of communication (on a telepathic level) with one's own God, using a spiritual 'medium' of communication to do so?? Therefore, using that analogy. we are all mediums to a certain extent. Even Christians have to admit there is a spiritual realm, angels, forces, etc. I personally just think of the spiritual as another dimension. Some people are more aligned than others (or more 'tuned into' that frequency or vibration) of dimension than others. Some are sender/receivers.... think of it as being a hi fi radio transmitter, receiver...

When I was younger I was extremely sensitive to energy. To the point I could walk into a room of people and know immediately who was going to eventually end up with who (sometimes it might take a time period of 5 yrs for those people to get together, sometimes even marry!) who was having an affair with who, who was going to break up or divorce and so on. Due to my sensitivity and lack of experience of knowing how to 'buffer' myself from all this information, I purposely shut it down and shut it out.

However, in EVERY relationship I have ever had, it has freaked out my partner just how 'tuned in' things can get. In fact, before getting too involved I tell a prospective partner, please do not ever lie, or bullshit me, cos I will know...

Of course, they take it with a grain of salt at the time, till errr, things come up, lies may be said or worse, cheating may happen. I find out EVERY TIME. And it freaks them out. So yeah, being of a 'psychic type' can affect your relationship.

Two examples: As a 17 year old I had a much loved boyfriend. I had to go into hospital for 3 days due to a severe chest infection, so didn't get to see him for 3 days. The MOMENT he came to see me, to give me a big hug, I jumped back in horror. I 'sensed' his energy had changed and I KNEW he had slept with someone else. Telling him this, he was shocked!! How did I know?? I said I don't know, I JUST KNOW (actually its a literal energy change in their aural chemistry, they vibrate at a different frequency... my body acts as a very sensitive radio receiver of these frequences and so, I FEEL it in my own body, that is HOW I KNEW) and I also told him who it was. The guy really freaked cos there was NO way I could have known otherwise. These kinds of occurrences have happened time and time again, though lying and cheating are not of course, indicative of the incidences involved.

In my adult life... a year or so ago I broke up with a guy... then had a dream about him, that he had joined one of those phone dating sights. I even got his personal code number in my dream, I'm not kidding, soooo... next day I rang the number of the dating service, punched in the number I had in my dream and voila!! there was his profile. He was seeking to meet other women, whilst at the same time trying desperately to get back with me and telling me I was the only one for him!! I told him to go to hell. And he was very *issed off that I knew bout his phone profile LOL.

As for some very serious events that have happened over the past decade... Princess Diana's death, The Thredbo disaster in Australia and the horrible Tsunami we had a couple of years ago... I had premonitions of all three and indeed I dreamed in 1st person the accident that Diana was in. I 'Felt' in 1st person the crashing of the car... and saw the interior of the vehicle etc. I actually thought I'd dreamed my own death till I woke up the next morning and turned on the tv to find out about Diana. Many of these types of things occur in my life, though I have no control over when I get the impressions or how they may come to me.

If anything, I still dampen these impressions and feelings and intuitions and 'energy' pickups... I do not seek to develop them or seek them out. However, I also know they are very natural, in no way spooky and there are very sensible and scientific reasons for them. Some people have a talent for art, some a talent for the 'other or interdimensional' communications.

One of these days I would like to write a book of the things I know about the 'other dimensions' I am aware of.

Sometimes, just to entertain myself, I can 'tune in' to one or more of these dimensions and have a ball there, its great fun.

And no, not weird LOL.

Anyhoo, they are just a very few of the experiences I have. Everyday occurrences

there are behavior traits that indicate when someone's lying.

That would be incorrect just like paranormal is "spiritual". Detection of deception is one of the most sought after solutions. Researchers have used attitudes, behaviors, eye movement, facial expression, voice intonation, etc. none of them predict liars.
Meta-Analysis of Honest Tests. Barrick and Mount. 1994.

very FEW are good enough to beat a lie detector test, most not. One of many reasons they aren't used as evidence in court.

That would be incorrect. Everybody who takes the test beats the test because the test isn't worth shyt. That's why it is not used in a court of law. There is zero reliability between polygraphers. They read the lines differently unless they were trained at the same polygraph school.

The only reason polygraphs are used at all is as a proxy for asking questions and often law enforcement gives bogus feedback to try to entrap alleged criminals.

Wow! I haven't been on this site for a long while and go figure, It was the question I was pondering this evening. I am a professional psychic. I am told by my regular clients that I am "never wrong". I also have communicated messages from the dead to the living. To be honest, I am still amazed at my own accuracy. My grandmother was an intuitive.
Being psychic ABSOLUTLY affects all relationships. I have to tell the truth so sometimes I say nothing. The last relationship I was in, I knew he was lying...all the time. I chose to ignore myself. NOT A GOOD IDEA.
I will never do that again.

Yep. If you know something the rest of the world doesn't, don't ignore it. The last person on Earth you wanna put on a "block" list is yourself ;)

For years I thought I was just an odd ball--then my mother found an article in the paper that a local university was testing for psychic abilities and I went to find out if I had any and yes I did. I can't tell the future or the past or talk to the other side, but what I can do is to read your mind and know before you open your mouth,---- what you are going to say. Not good when a guy is involved. I've always known when a guy was going to take a walk--and when I say that in the first minute of meeting someone, I know if a relationship will ever work out. Sometimes it's a blessing and sometimes it is not.

Are you psychic? - and is there anyone in your family who is? -Finally do you think that there is any truth in communicating with those who have passed on?

Friendlyidentity,

I do not know if it is true that one can communicate with those who have passed on. Passed on to where? And are "passed on" ones really dead?

However, some professed believers might allow what is written to guide their thinking as to whether it is appropriate or inappropriate to communicate with spirits.

"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer." Deuteronomy 18: 10,11

"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun." Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 (KJV)

Callwilliam 2 Relates to the bible in order to give weight on the prohition on communication with those not living.

Firstly, should we live after life - surely it is only because of God's blessing - if we can communicate and bring loved ones back together in order to give comfort, then God will have provided the means for us to do so - for surely we cannot do so if there in fact there is no life after death?

Everyone is different just like with everything else in life. Being pysicic is a blanket statement differnt people can communicate with the dead or live people in different ways and some people when its to close to them it doesn't work because you are emotionally envoved.

I told my ex to man up I knew he was cheating. He didn't mean to end our marriage but I told him he did that the moment he let her in.
We all have some degree of ability some of us trust and listen to it some don't.

Normally you could get away with harmlessly looking at another woman for a quick glance - not with a psychic girlfriend ! The moment you notice anyone you find attractive you are busted !

i don' t need to be a psychic on this one...my bf tells me all! he'd even go to an extent of saying, "if i was single, i'd totally bang her." which is something i really would rather not hear, but meh. i don't find it a threat to have my bf check out other woman.

as for having a psychic bf...that would be awesome! atleast he'll know if i'm pissed already! sometimes, some men are so insensitive and just can't clue in on things

I've met psychics and frauds. The frauds pull a good show, while the actual psychic tries to be rather honest and what they have said in the past has been right on the money. Now here's the thing, and it's the same for instance when someone does a Tarrot reading. If you do them all the time it deludes the message. If you are in constant contact with that person they have a harder time to sense anything different or strange.
