Beached on a thought
stuck on an idea....
working so hard to get to an end that the means is lost
the things around you stand unseen..
.life passes by without meaning....
beached simply on that thought.....
days are lost ...
.weeks are lost ...
.years are lost.....
.beached on that thought...
the idea of what should be....
beached on a thought..
.forgetting to smile...to look....to accept....to learn....... to grow.....
beached on a thought......
why can't one see when they are beached...
.that they are not reallly moving...
why the illusion that all is well.....
beached on a though................t

La bahia Magdelena

a hulk of concrete
and towers obtrudes
above the sand gorse
unfinished

wavering dalliances
of un-named florets
amidst cholla
mammallaria

fish hook cactus
and temporal arrangements
of minute and infinitely
thrown rainbows
split on the sandy substrate
like snow lying everywhere
a litany of names
campanilla
yuca
calabaza
amargo
golondrina
cassia
chicaro
the garbancillo
casa de indio
ojos de pajarito
tabardillo

snapdragons
jasmin de la sierras

mangroves green
and daunting
bowers to
jade speckled
yellow tailed fish

a fishing hut hidden in the dunes nearby
fringe the arabesques of stems
flashing effect being in flower

it as though the rust bucket
truck is on a safari

like the flower meadows
in first bloom
of spring
you move the air
that pleases me

areoles
fleshy smooth types
erect

bed of straw
northern smooth flesh

Wow! Great readings here! Hmmm my Dittygoat's barn is getting full...time for a clean up now and celebrate the writings of many great people including goat himself. Oh by the way I prepared you your favorite meal today "Goat" fresh barley and hay and warm water! You stay indoors and keep warm while you fights that flu!

In came many poets
followed their hearts
And found this warm place
A place to drop in
And leave a poem
Cleans up their mess
And out the doors
They all ran
Our Ditty goat smiles
And says Welcome
Come again!
The door is swinging
Both ways now
People are dashing in to see
What our famous goat
Has written today
And of course
Many quiet visitors too
Hope they will post a poem
For us today!

sun shining..
gentle rays reflecting off the water...
insects in a flurry of excitement moving out of the way of the fish
moving out of the way of the ducks...
moving out of the way of the gator
the big alligator.....
coyotes...crouching stealthily in the bushes..hoping to get just one candian goose trying to seek sanctuary during migration.....
raptors, herons, egrets, rosesete spoonbills...eating resting enjoying the sun....playing on the water....
kingsnakes...red eared sliders.... snapping turtles....
learning...visualizing...seeing...smelling ...teaching.....
touching...feeling....

In China once I caught the Flu
Just dropped me on my Ass
So I know just how you feel
But even this will pass
I'm not too keen on doctors
So I made my remedy
Does'nt work for everyone
But it sure works for me

First you take some Olive Oil
One teaspoon ... Never more
Reach up for the Garlic
thats hanging by the door
Find that piece of Lemon
Thats hiding in the fridge
Go and raid the Herbs you find
In your neighbours ditch

Mix it all together
Add an egg or two
Now we're getting closer
We'll have a devils brew

Now reach down for the Bourbon
Thats tucked under the bed
Throw the other junk away
And have a drink instead

The Cave will never be the same Hope you get better real soon

Hello all. And I do mean all. Man, lookit all the poems here. I am surprised and pleased and well, I darn near wept like that little girl in the phone commercial...you know, the one talking to her grandpa and...and...

....gimmie a minnit....

(Erhum) Anyhow...it's good to see ya'll here. Some absolutely great stuff in here. Now I'm coming here to read what's new and loving every post.

Sukari...you know just what I was on about, huh? Been there, done that -- still doing it. Funny how the mind can leap and scratch and hang onto thoughts, almost obsess over them...yup. Thanks for that, Sukari.

Majoa...weclome to the barn. Man, does that flow...there are things I have to look up just to know what they are. I read yours aloud and I'm sure I botched a lot of the pronunciations...but it rolled of my tongue like a good yodel. Great poem. Thanks for choosing the barn to set it up in.

Charming...I'm still alive. The flu hasn't quite got me down yet. I even headed into work. I did stuff but I can't really remember what it all was. That barley and warm water sounds like just the thing to flush out some nastiness (and maybe create some more nastiness I haven't known about), Always love having you here, you lil' ol' ray of sunshine, you.

Longte...poetic master...good to see you again. I like your flu remedy and the poem it rode in on. I have a little head clearer recipe that consists of sigle malt scotch and honey -- heat it up in a microwave and pound it back. The sinuses just open right up and the eyes get heavy right quick. Works good. I'm doing good so far, though tired as all heck. It won't stop me from posting a reflective poem, like this:

=======================================================

I am a Gross Pig (no really, my friend said so)

Today I ate soup in a particular fashion
As my strength and vitality were crashin’

I leaned my face over the bowl of soup
My elbows maintained my eating stoop

The sound was between a slurp and a purr
The quickness made the spoon blur

Spoon to bowl and spoon to mouth
Was soup going in or falling out?

==============================================================

I eat like a cement mixer when I really get going. I kid you not.

Okay, I'm going to bed now...g'night.

PS: Love having company here again. You guys keep it up. You're all quality folk.

Pretend you have no arms ..... Then proceed to eat
You can finish many things.. But only pre-cut meat
Snuffling up Spagetti without a fork or Knife
Do the same with Icecream That can change your life
For then you see the matrons bedecked in all their pearls
Icecream dripping from their cheeks and smiles to light the world
Pass around the napkins and surely you will see
What was a Formal Dinner .. now ends in gaeity

Did this as a fundraiser for the Quadraplegic Ass.

Night

How I do love the night,
It brings me such pleaure.
The absense of light,
Is something I treasure.

The feel of the cool air,
With a little whip of the wind,
Take away my despair,
My troubles now rescind.

In the stillness I sit,
With ecstacy as such,
I never want to leave it,
I love it so much.

But there's a missing part,
Of my world of night,
Someone close to my heart,
My maiden, I her knight.

The darkness is best shared,
Where individualism twists and bend.
Two to one souls bared,
In life's journey, to it's end.

So in the darkness I wait,
Peace and serenity console me,
Til I find my soulmate,
To share the nights journey.

Evening all. More quality stuff being posted here, thansk to Kobold and Longte. Putting me to shame, fellas. All I have is this tonight:

===========================

Terse Verse, of Curse

With pen to paper and pen to hand
I try to think with my pineal gland
A curious sensation, full of plight
That creeps into my head tonight

O pity my poor tired brain
That resembles the wreck of a train
The effort to create coherent verse
Is taking a dreadful turn for the worse

So perhaps I’ll take the time to wing it
Play some tunes and perhaps I’ll sing it
But not to loud so as not to disturb the neighbours
And subject them to my poetic labours

=======================================

Yup. I'm tired. Sleep. Soon. Now. Probably. Yup.

G'night.

sound of words upon my ear
leaning gently trying to hear
what did he say...
did he want to play...
did he say he was shy
was it a sharp cry....
the sound of the beat
moving gently the feet
tap tap tapping
rap rap rapping
old words , new sounds
love abounds...
sharing experiences
so long seriousness
sounds of words upon my ear
leaning gently trying to hear

Sukari...that was lovely. A fine addition to the barn on a sleepy Saturday.

So...here's mine:

=============================

Rare Time

When time is rare, it’s always well-done
Or at least done well
I’ve had a day of tiddling around
Catching up on things
Thinking about stuff
Stuffing thoughts in places
For future reference
The afternoon is still new
As I ponder and wonder
Read old books, compose new words
Relate old ideas refound and refried
To old friends and new acquaintances
I’ve learned today, paused long enough
To smell the garbage and understand
It needed to be escorted outside
The cool air seeps through the open window
Carrying voices, sounds, smells
From places well out of sight, sought and step
Overcast as it is, the sun works its way through at times
And visits my floor

=======================================

That's all I have for right now. Later, eh.

Posted at the Dark Side, but I do so love being a part of the barn! Must be the animal in me-lol.

The Mist

Night breaks, as a mist creeps in from the west,
It glows lightly in several shades of green.
Everyone in the little town of Willow, at rest,
So it’s enemy will never be seen.

Nestled in their beds they dream,
They don’t heart it creeping,
All is at peace, so it seems,
But death has come reaping.

The mist now seeps into every little crack.,
In and under, through and around,
A silent but deadly attack,
It had covered the town.

Into each room the mist does fill,
As with some sort of purpose dark in nature,
Covering it’s prey as they lie still,
Taking advantage of their unprepared stature.

Lungs fill, swell and burst with a bloody spray,
Violently death throes, they choke their last breath,
The mist, in turn, takes each of it’s sleeping prey,
Each soul taken by this creeping death.

Sweet dreams, now gone, the town now still.
The mist recedes into the hills, whence it came,
There it will wait silently for it’s next kill,
At such time, it’ll creep down to do the same.

So when passing near the little, now vacant, town of Willow,
Look around and listen, take special care.
Pay attention to which way the wind does blow.
Because the mist is still out there, somewhere.

warm breezes on the air
gently flowing carrying with them memories
promises of places and things from a warmer time
promises of things to come again....
that mix of past and future that makes life so worth living
reminiscent of old....leading into new...looking forward to those new shoots
sneaking through.... flowers coming up...blooming...that wonderful fragrance of spring...
the smells the colors.... and best of all the memories...
places and times remembered so fondly... but don't despair...
for as spring before brought good things, bright things...happy things...
once again it will do the same...and this time...will do an even better job...
for with it , it has brought a wealth of new friends...to share the time with....

Hey peoples. Just making sure the barn is still warm here.

Kobold...nice addition to the barn. Thanks, eh.

Sukari...as always...well, I have no words for your words -- apart from these:

=======================

Afternoon Tea

Tea and silence
Creaking boards and trees
Bending with the wind and the weight
Of well-articulated quiet
We would sit, sway
The smell of the ocean so close at hand
The dog pads in, sensing communion
Content to flop on the worn boards
Sighing as tea is sipped
As eyes are met, briefly
Between long drinks of the sunset

==========================

It's back to the grind tomorrow...whoohoo...

Later, eh.

sitting on a porch...
gentle breezes blowing
thoughts shared aloud...
silence shared quietly...listening to the surf...
the smell of the blooming hibiscus...the roses drifting gently up to the porch
swinging rocking...the gently sway...
comfort in just knowing that there is someone there to share....
to listen to sit in that comfortable silence.....

Drops on any
reflective surface,
- plunk and ding -
sodden and sudden
- plink and sink -
they dissappear
leaving echo-like rings
outward radiating
little waves
undulating
and receding
into the still and far
off-shores

a strange cadence
raindrops
not like snow
or wind
which push
and cause
our eyes to blink
except in a furry
they cause too much
color like our eyes
white coronas
gardenias
violets she has them
and purple loose strife
to accent her jubilent eyes

all a strange rythmn rain
on a day without purpose

then she ran aground
my sandals got wet
I tripped on a rope and
landed upside down in the reverse
position

Evening all. Nice to see Majoa and Sukari in here keeping the ol' barn

classed up. Bless you both.

I don't have a lot of time tonight, so I'll have to regurgitate a haiku.

=============================

Valentine's Day is
An interesting thing to
Wander through today

=============================

Timely and quick. I'll see if I have some poetry in me tomorrow.

o)--> As I Lie Dormant All Curled Up Inside My Head
Like A Seed Nestled In A Dry Flower Bed
Sitting Patiant 'Till My Heart Is Fed
With The Cool Wet And Warm Dry
Of That Which Lets Us Fly On Angles Breath And Heavens Eye
Lofting High And Higher Still
Around Me Creeps The Winter Chill
For My Soul I Need To Fill,
Search This Space And I Will Find
A Goddess So Lovely And So Kind
Who Makes Me Gaze Into Her Face
And Helps Me Blossom In This Place
Who Makes Me Smile If Just In Case
Im Feeling Sad Or Feeling Low
Torrential Downfall Waters Flow
Into The Earth And Make Me Grow
So Big And Strong My Roots Will Be
Something So Beautifull And Pure To Me
So I Can Be What I Should Be.

He Once Thought Tomorrow Is Dead
So Much Death Within His Dreams
As Color Fades To Black Across Expanding Skies
With No New Day, No Way To Fly
The Crack In Space, It Smashed His Face
And Blood Of Gold Splatter Staining Hope
Of What Once Was Lovely Was No More
Hanging From His Tree Of Love
Its Rotten Now And Full Of Hate
His Blood Dries On Sands Of Time
He Spreads His Wings
Fly Away
And Watch Tomorrows Death And Dieing Words
Of Lonly Journy And Meaningless Life
Which Can't Be Held Or Even Grasped
Speaking Sweetly While Eating His Soul
Tears Of Stardust Wet With Pain
Surrenderd Dreams Consuming Souls
So Leave Yourself And Go Away
--Kinda Dark Sorry--

I Lie Awake
Too Tired To Sleep
A Million Wishes
A Million Stars
Crash From The Sky And Drown In The Sea
I Have A Net Which I Swing Through The Air
To Try To Catch FireFlies Who Dance In My Eyes
Ive Cut My Feet From Walking On Glass
No Longer Afraid
Your Already Gone
Im Down On My Knees With My Face In My Hands
Pleading For A Flower And A Little Pinch Of Sand
A Tear Drips From My Eye And Rolls Down My Cheek
To Flood Mankind For All Time
Im Wanting To Leave But I Cant Take The Chance
Dancing Alone And All By Myself
Wishing At Least Someone Got Im My Way
And My Fingers Relax
And The Soil Of My Soul Plumets Back To Earth
As Blossoming Flowers
FREEZE UNDER SNOW
Locked Away. In Walls Of Glass
Im Open, Exposed, For All To See
But Nobodys There To Bring Me A Key
With So Many Backs All Turned Away
To Stand Alone It Must Be My Fate
I Cry Out From Within Myself
And Broked Shattering Glass Cuts My Face
Nobody Looks They Just Don't Care
I Smile
and Swallow And Burry My Broken Heart Deep Within
And I Fill Up Balloons Full Of My Pain
And Set Them Free
As Perfect Round Spheares Which Should Not Be Mine
I Let Them Go High In The Sky
So Delicate, I Sure Hope They Fly
For If They Burst Then So Shall I
All Of My Heart
And All Of My Love
That Has No Purpose Or So It Seems
Goes Misplaced To The Land Of Dead Dreams
Where It Cuts Me Deep And Makes Me Bleed
I Nurse My Wounds I Dont Think They'll Heal
As I Lie Awake
Too Tired To Sleep
I Hollow Void Aches Deep Inside Of My Chest
Crying To Me To Please Ease Its Pain
I Have Nothing To Fill
No Bandage Or Pills
My Soul Is So Tierd But I Cant Let It Sleep
-Depressing, Once Again I Am Truly Sorry----- (-:

Her Spirit Shimmers In Dark Effervescent
Smiles Upon Her Face
A Radiant Energy Deep In Her Heart
Her Stories Drip Brilliant In Shimmering Grace
Everything Her Kindness Touches
Arch Trails Of Spinning Gold
Rising Sadness Out Of Souls
Tenderly As Her Story Is Told
Offering Warm Sunny Ways

A Glowing Ember Embedded
Deep Within Glowing Woven Fibers Of Translucence
Forever Held Fast In An Orbit Of Bluegreen Vibrations
Forced To Exist By The Soothing Pulse Radiation Stripping It Down
Making Its Home, Settleing In
With The Power And Magnitude Running Its Course
As A Billion Stars All Collide And Collapse In On Themselves
At The Same Time All Trapped In A Moment Inside Little Glass Balls
As Our Captives Who Glow Deep Inside.
