| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 3:57:11 AM | Dig a little deeper for the fire that burns within You have the keys to my soul so take it for a spin Make sure you keep the fluids topped and not a lot of gas Last time you wore me out and burned rubber off my ass
Let me check your dipstick while you oil my gears Put the pedal to the metal before I get on in years I’m a classy old chassis in need of some serious lube My tires may be saggy and flat but I see your lovely tube
Pump me full of the good stuff baby and rotate me hard Stall me by the side of the road but leave my CAA card Make me a sign that says “vegas or bust” before you peel away And hope some lonely trucker wants a fix’er upper today

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 5:20:35 PM | Howdy all. Again, this is the week from hell. So, it's a post-and-run night tonight.
Miz...sorry to hear about your bronchial tubes. Get well and keep the wet coughs down a bit.
Okay...here it is:
=================================
Relational Freedoms
Struck dumb in the grocery store, I realized I can buy crunchy peanut butter again And not worry about what someone would say About how they don’t like it No more low-fat cheese No more one-percent milk No more low-sodium crackers I can get and keep whatever I want Cinnamon-flavoured toothpaste Raspberry jam Any type of ice-cream I ever wanted Sour cream that doesn’t taste like latex
I was struck dumb there, between aisles 5 and 6 Considering the possibilities The combinations The total effect on my soul, never mind the chequing account I seized the Breyer’s Extra High Fat Chocolate And walked, emancipated To the checkout
======================================
Guess what's for dessert?
Heh heh. I may even roll in it. Yum.
See you tomorrow, eh. | |
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 6:19:00 PM | Sausage rolls are a weekness for me Not the ones with beef inside The Pork filled ones Lotsa Lard Cos it's the fat that gives the Flavour That exquisite taste That I savour
Cottage cheese on the other hand Should be banned Tastes like milky turds Nasty little curds That stick to the roof of your mouth And GROW It is SO Gross

|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 11:12:38 PM | Nice poem Dave!! Janine sounds like a dream! ;~)
Pickles, I'd like cottage cheese on my sausage roll please, mmmm love those cheesy little curds, wonderfully soft like albino turds,MmmMM!
THE WRITING ON THE WAll
A soul reunites within flesh, Simlar in energy and life expression As itself in a past dimension. Born in a different land and time. A new experience with hurdles to climb. Drawing from records so deep within, Unable to know from whence to when. Accepting ignorance is bliss sublime, It gives life freedom, unveiling the blind.
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 11:35:19 PM | Inside the 4th of july, freedom rears It's Bombs.
Fireworks, a celebration of an untruth Like Bombs and Missiles I hear Through the walls. Wars rage, the usa ignites, manipulates. Freedom? Human segregation, A touchy time for those who see beyond patriotism.
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 11:41:42 PM | Magic
I know it's precarious I hold nothing tight. Open my fist it's only slight. What exists? T'was dark, now light. I don't see my doubt, I don't feel I know. Elusive love. An intangible show.

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/27/2005 11:51:10 PM | Straight shooting armies of tedium, Leaping up beside me the spirit with flimsy receptacles.. | The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/28/2005 12:09:03 AM | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I love the look upon your face. The way your body moves with grace. So deep within, the passion you send. still shuddering with delight. I can't imagine a better way, to spend my nights. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/28/2005 12:20:46 AM | Ah! Newness, limbo, I know you my love,.. in our way. Our space is between two worlds. Worlds that overlap, already splintered, with loves from our pasts. It is a narrow road, barely a path. Overrid, the weeds touch our toes. How far is the path? I don't know. Tread it too much? Worlds collide. Not enough? It's gone bye bye! When does a tiny river meet the sea? Only when steady currents are behind thee.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/28/2005 3:54:28 PM | money
green greadily gobbling dollars shot callers, every day mallers shoppers, pickpocketers, on strike picket line breakers are all takers, they want me, got to have me hookers, pimps, playahs and hustlas,drug dealers, crooked cops, jagged politicians, titheing sinners, boxers throwing fights for mobsters, bank robbers, stock brokers, paparatzzi poppin pictures I make them all act funny, theyll do anything for money.

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/28/2005 8:15:18 PM | Howdy all...another post and run kind of day.
Here we go:
============================
It’s Kinda Like…
Snow, wet snow Sits on the ground today Like a damp badger Like a wet sleeping bag Like a real disappointment
I know they promised its coming Like more bad news Like the Inevitable Presidential Message Like the telemarketer's call in the midst of dinner
The temperature dropped a lot Like Nortel shares Like David Caruso's career Like well-buttered toast on the floor
I sure hope it won't stay long Like a bag of Doritos in my cupboard Like toilet paper on the roll Like a new pair of sunglasses
The end of April in Saskabush is Like flying a kite on the dark side of the moon Like playing a kazoo with your ass Like a series of natural disasters
===============================
And here I go...sorry I can't stick around tonight...later, eh?
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/28/2005 8:52:57 PM | REVELATION
Schemers who on their deathbeds whispered take me O God away from this cursed sod in Your creation I'll deal instead
Foundlings no more they rub hairless chins forever and ever lambs float by leaving no calling cards gone is the sty gone are high clouds the ones they sit in
Recall thin wafers the wish-granted pious had on dry tongues at home now the endless day they roam but where could He be where is the Highest
Back on Earth for the second time to pick a horse with four sound legs He shakes His locks while gawk the dregs to have gambled back then on calculating slime
Untransformed rocks meanwhile gather quarries are formed on the shifting floor many now look for a hopeful door apogees all to the vacant Father

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 4:52:39 AM | morning breaking... colors ever so slowly rising above the horizon... bright colors...gently bringing light to the darkness .... revealing the cracks in the sidewalk... egging on the birds in their singing..... showing the movement of the cats around the houses ever so quietly stalking the trash cans put out for their weekly pickup.... dogs out for their morning walk..... owners not really quite awake yet...that semi lucid heavy footed walk of the one pulled out of bed only because the thought of cleaning up after the dog was worse than getting up.... newspapers laying on porches..... traffic barely starting to congregate... an apple...eaten amidst all the action....it core shared with a squirrel.... | |

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 5:05:29 PM | Great images in this barn..... tis another day in the ole eatery.....
Brain fog
Windows Fake marble tables Coffee in a paper cup Spinning pine stools
Cardboard bartenders Listen to your cries Passing drinks smelling of stale rags Kicking horse the taste of the day
Wrap around scarf, woolen mittens You are ready to face the night Though you’ve yet begun the day One more sip, you’ll emerge from the daze
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 6:32:05 PM | Indeed, Breathing...you are no exception.
Another post and run...drive-by poetry...vroom vroom...

A Fervent Babble From Another School
I wish I had a handful of fish Or if they were placed on a dish And arranged just so To let the Feng Shui flow
But is a dish of fish An appropriate, aesthetic wish? There are better things to want Some to make me fat or gaunt
But there’s something about fish eyes Never blinking, open to the skies It’s you they look through As you attack them with a fork or spoon
Taking their patient lashes As the fork the spoon gashes Or as well as one can gash with a spoon It’s a blunt tool, you bloody loon
Patience will get you a long way When you eat fish with Feng Shui But it’s well worth the cost To drown it in HP Sauce
=============================
I may be back later to kibutz a bit, but we'll see how the evening goes. Later, eh?
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 8:28:22 PM | Nope. no kibbutz tonight. Sorry.
I'm taking my tired ass to bed. G'night you poets and lurkers and thinkers.
|
| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 8:44:32 PM | To kiss a fish is just a wish (doobeedoodoobeedoo) And when I kiss a fish (doobeedoodoobeedoo) I just seal my lips (doobeedoowahwah)
Cos a major fishy kiss (doobeedoodoobeedoo) Can play havoc with the lips (doobeedoodoobeedoo) Make 'em feel like they've been stripped (doobeedoowahwah)
So when you kiss a fish (doobeedoodoobeedoo) Lather lips with major goo (doobeedoodoobeedoo) Do the kisses on the cheeks (doobeedoodoobeedoo Your lips will thank you (doobeedoowahwah

| The Poetry Barn and Eatery Posted: 4/29/2005 10:35:36 PM | Hi Everyone. Im a little vicodan'ed up so im gonna keep this brief (fixed the toothache problem today) I just got my first poem from my son, out of the mouths of babes they say....this is what he wrote me...
"if love was a line mine would go on forever."
blew me away...anyways, it inspired this poem...by the same name.
if love was a line, mine would go on forever, forever and ever, stopping, not once, never, bounding outwards at the speed of light, Im free as a bird and you give me flight, the wind beneath my wings, the voice inside me that sings, no matter what life or death brings, know, you are my everything. I do it all for you, so you can walk in shoes, bigger and broader, that walk farther than mine do. the storm on the horizon, Ill bear through it for you, my son every battle that Ive won, you have just begun. but Ill be there in your corner, dont worry, yer a quick learner. Im always on your shoulder, your love makes me bolder its not just because im older, that im wise. I have you also, in my corner in disguise as a little boy, but I Know, your almost a man. If life was a sport, I'd be YOUR biggest fan. I love you Trey.
1luv peace th30ry
*gnite all, I might stick around for awhile, but im beat....ill holla more tomorrow,(like anyone cares :P ) im such a baby when im in pain....buh bye*
