seriously, though, okay, maybe only half serious--
the reason why you don't see a woman over 30 in the bars is because she's taking care of herself. she's not waiting on the knight, she's working on self-actualization. which, means being whole & complete on their own. what a freakin' concept in this world of c0-dependency...
btw--i'm not joking about the biking--i'd even take you along, but you gotta promise me up front that you won't whine when i drop your old ass... :P

Totally agree. Women in thier 30's aren't hanging out in bars mostly because we've been there, done that and if we wanna get wasted and embaress ourselves, it doesn't help our cause to do so in public nor to take care of our friends who should know better by now....
But to go out and have a few****ails with some company or a group thing? We're there.

You may have me at monthly moments on the bitter thing, but never vindictive. Its called 'not trusting scum'. I'll see your hard body cause around here I don't hardly see any 20 year olds with a body like mine, and my 'fat ass' has had two kids. But I raise you a sexy naked man past 30. I don't think you can come up with that......

the bar/nightlife scene with younger crowd is not advantageous for them - many don't feel comfortable, feel too old among "hot younger chicks". many also dress more conservative, more classy, and are often embarrassed by extravagant dresses of their younger rivals. | |

I'm very much all about the cold approach (and I do it a lot), but it's pretty much a waste of time approaching women out with their work-mates. NO women will show any interest in any man who approaches her in front of her 10 co-workers because she knows that if she's nice to him, she'll have to hear about it at work for weeks. If she's rude to him, she'll get high-five's from her co-workers for weeks. That's the anti-male, feminist culture that we live in, like it or not.
Someone asked where is guys can be found... here is what I do and the average ratio of SINGLE males to SINGLE females in the 30 to 50 age range:
Computer/Internet related seminars: 99:1
Road cycling clubs: 99:1
Hiking (with various groups): 4:1
Happy hour type events: 4:1
International group Travel: 10:1
Kayaking: 4:1
House Parties: 5:1
Just walking into a random upscale bar in San Diego: 15:1
Cruises (including the upcoming POF cruise): 4:1
Skiing/Snowboarding trips: 10:1
Are you can see from the numbers, most women in the 30-50 age bracket simply don't leave home. Granted this is "Man Diego", the worst possible city for a straight single male, but I understand the ratios to be similar elsewhere. | |

I am a proud 33 year old, I have done the twenties and now I know who I am and what I want in life. Okay, so I am currently sitting on my couch...........but I do have kids at home. But, I like to look at the brighter side of things which means that 2-3 days a week I have free over night babysitting and I can do whatever I want!!! If I want to go on vacation, I drop them off with their dad. I don't do this often, but it is in option for me. I try to meet people at church or school. I do go out occassionally with my girl friends but I hate the club scenes. I date regularly on POF. So, guys.............this is why this site is here, all you have to do is ask. We don't bite........unless you want us too. | |

Posted: 7/28/2008 6:28:30 PM | I have always thought a good place to meet women is school events. But for those of us that don’t have kids that live in the same state. It is impossible. LOL I have even tried kidnapping my nieces and nephews, but that didn’t work.
Cant use Friend sent 90% of them is family. And I must have the most ridged family out there. The only person in my family that is willing to help is my mother, and those choose are not what you would expect of a mom. lol. Let’s just say most guys would like to have a mom like mine when it comes to meeting women. In other word it’s not someone you would take home to mother if you get the picture. God I hope my older brother never gets divorced or widowed, he is so ridged he will never make it. My other bothers, one has tried, but just didn’t work and I think he blames himself. I don’t know what to say of the other one.
Oh and before someone says move to the same state my kids are in; I don’t feel like moving every 2 to 3 months.
Church makes my skin crawl, so it is out.
As far as writing women here, I quit. At least my e-mail all got read before they were deleted.
OK what I want to know is; how do you pull off the Super mart/ laundry/ Subway. Talking is not the problem; I guess closing the deal is. I know how to talk. It is when to ask for a number?

church groups

pick a hobby....explore the net...see what's available in your area....

So its easy guys, go out and get a little bit of You-Know-Who in you, and head to the sanctuary.

Overall I don't think many here go to church, maybe 1% of the population? The other thing is that I'm not superstitious, and would have a hard time doing bible-speak with a straight face.

I move through my day hopping from location to location until all "tasks" are completed, then head out with my ever dwindling group of friends. *lol* This is why I never complain about being single. It's my own fault. :)
When I was actively looking, these were the best places to meet people:
Art gallery openings: Free wine, free food and easy conversation pieces all around you.
Dinner Parties: Mingling, activities and food. Food is always good.
Festivals: A diverse group of people attend these and people tend to be nice and relaxed.
I thought about going to a few POF events, but everyone who was attending was 40 and over. The same problem with attending single meetup groups. Most people my age are married around here. :(
If you have friends that are very outgoing and know a lot of people, ask them for some help in setting something up. I used to have a girlfriend that was a master at setting up fantastic dinner parties. She's married with a child now, but those were good times. :) | |

Don't get me started on cooking classes, which have nothing but single women looking for love and single gay men looking for fag hags! It's so sad. You show up for a Chinese cooking class and the only man in there is all about your SHOES. | |

They don't have what I have to offer and maybe I don't have what they have but anyway, I just go to dance and I go with gf's that love it too and I don't pay anyone that much attention but I still get hit on by guys all the time and if someone really cool came along then I'd be open to it.
No shame in that. Now if I could just find a guy that loves to dance too then .....
I refuse to feel I can't go somewhere because it's not "age appropriate". I hate that expression anyway. Since when did people stop loving to dance and goof off after a certain age. I love pop music, trance etc and I will never give it up.
If you don't love to dance why would you go and if you do you aren't paying much attention to picking someone up so...what does age have to do with that??
I'm English and I'm totally at home in a neighbourhood pub but prefer to go with a gf. There tends to be people of all ages there too. I always have a blast when I go out and I don't need to get drunk and act stupid, just act natural, chat with whomever, don't be a snob and have a fun night socialising. | |

I dont like to go to Duke's Road House too much simply coz that place is laced with cops. | |

at the bar but not looking so high maintenance that she must have lot of time to waste,
bookstores-flipping thru books seeing which will keep her company when she's not out,
working out at the gym, enjoying her eye-candy and wondering if he's interested bcoz he's looking her way too!

...so when you see us sitting there with the girls stop by and introduce your5self......there has to be one of us that is interested.
