| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/21/2008 8:28:55 PM | | i know where they hang out - the same place single men hang out - in front of their computers surfing the net for a guy - the problem is they'll never admit it so they pretend they actually do stuff and have lives so us guys feel like losers for doing the same thing and never bother to contact them because we figure they're too good for us. | |

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/24/2008 4:26:36 PM | | Hanging in their homes waiting on a knight in shining armor to rescue them? If I barge into their house, in a rented suit of armor, they'll surely attack me with a wiffle bat. Coffee/Donut shops? When did 30+ women all start becoming police officers? Grocery stores.....one time, but she was ripping open the sandwich meat and eating it. | |

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/25/2008 10:28:08 AM | Why is this so hard? I mean meeting people in general. I am always on the go and meeting new people. I work a job where I am fortunate enough to be able to network. I go to listen to live music, go to eat out with friends, workout ect. If I see someone I think may be interesting in most any situation I strike up a conversation. You never know who you might meet, a friend, a potential date, or someone to help in your career. Men and women take a chance! You won't know unless you try and what are you afraid of, getting your arm bit off? | |

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/25/2008 11:51:42 AM | Ok, I was in the grocery store and thought about this thread so did a full inventory on the store.
This was a large Von's store, mid day Sunday, average income area. Here is how the person count broke down:
Very elderly: 15 Obvious families with kids: 35 Females, but clearly under age 25: 8 Single males: 12 (didn't check for rings) Single females age 30-50 wearing wedding/engagement rings: 4 Single females age 30-50 NOT wearing wedding/engagement rings: ZERO
This what I find pretty much every time at the grocery store... it is NOT a good place to find single women, sorry to bust the myth.
BTW -- a male friend signed up for a salsa dancing class a couple of weeks ago, and had to pay in advance. Someone suggested that to him as a good place to meet women. It's all single males and couples, and his is PISSED! Guys, do not waste your money, this is another myth!

Try a place where single people live. If you are a fan of Von's, there's the store at the foot of Market Street.
But Von's and Albertson's are NOT favored by single people. They prefer Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, in Hillcrest, or Henry's on Park Boulevard.

That's funny, I did the same informal experiment in the supermarket last Sunday. And the result - every guy I thought was attractive turned out to be there with a woman.
But that's pretty typical - every guy I meet off line, whom I think is attractive - and I don't just mean appearance, I'm including personality, interests etc - invariably turns out to be in a relationship already. It's like relationship radar. Call it relaydar.
And that's why it's easier to meet people online. Although the percentage of men here whom I find attractive is very low, at least I can assume that the few whom I do find attractive are not attached.

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/26/2008 10:17:15 PM | | GotFin~ I'm curious to know what day and time you did your shopping inventory. I typically don't go to the grocery store during the hours 35 families with kids would be there. You're more likely to find me shopping well after all those kids are in bed. There's no reason for me to stand in line behind people with cartfuls of groceries when all I have is a little basket! | |

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/26/2008 10:24:36 PM | | Yes, and a lot depends on the neighborhood. Trader Joe's where I shop is always full of shoppers who are shopping for one person, and the merchandise is obviously packaged with them in mind, not "family size." | |

Don't you get a kick out of the people who hustle out of the liquor store and to their car with the brown bag to try to avoid being seen?
I kid, I kid. | |

The sexiest women are 30 - 36, but you are correct they are hard to find. They have the perfect balance of looks, intelligence, and maturity.
I can only assume since they get hit on everywhere they go they tend to hide out in the basement of their homes and troll the net. Ladies please come out from the shadows and give some of us older men a reason to go on!
The early comment about them being bitter, well I have met a few. Wished they would stay in their basements. Approach one of them and you might as well be a rapist and child molester because you will be treated as such when you simply utter a hello and show some interest.

In general, 30+ women rarely leave home, as you've discovered. Read the profiles here -- they are seriously waiting for a 'knight in shining armor' to 'rescue' them from their couch at home.
That's the main reason why most of us older guys date younger women -- they still get out in the world.
Ha ha ha ha!!!!!
Oh, I had no idea that this is how my age group is perceived by some!!! I am rarely home it seems. I do go out and dance because i love electronica but i don't go to pick up or be picked up, I go because a dj i like is playing. I also don't tend to frequent the meat market type bars, i stick to more underground venues with good music. I also trail run, play ultimate frisbee, love love love snowboarding, hike, and generally like to be active. If I had the bike, i'd probably take up down hill mountain biking. I'd like to go paragliding or sky diving and i'd like to learn to wakeboard or kite board (?) In short i wish i could work less and play far more.
Knight in shining armour? The last guy i dated, couldn't keep up with me and his ego had a hell of a time with that, especially as he was younger and told me i was too OLD for him. Sheesh!
I don't want to be rescued, nor do i want to sit around. I can't wait to find someone who is my equal so that we can go have all this fun together. I'm not waiting around though, because life is here to be lived, and i don't want to look back in regret. I do things by myself, i don't need a guy or a posse of girlfriends to do any of it, but i enjoy and cherish the times that i have company doing the things i love.
I think you've inspired me to make a speech *blushes* ummm ok, i think i'm done. Honestly though , i really enjoyed these POV's for their humour content. I hope you guys are joking, for if this is really how it is I feel bad for all involved. I hope you aren't bitter?!
I have to admit that sometimes i date younger myself, or seem to be drawn to younger just because they tend to be very active and don't seem so set in their ways. I think the next generation is more self aware and open to new ideas and ways...

Just what's wrong with the 20+ women? Have you got something against firm breasts? Do you prefer bitter vindictive women?
Ahhhhh, yes, good point! Exactly... what's wrong with the 20 + guys? Do I have something against firm behinds, flat abs and bulging biceps? Do I prefer bitter stereotyping men?
...just saying. *shrugs with a cheeky grin*
Don't you worry, though all kidding aside, i think many men in their 30's and 40's are still plenty hot, intelligent, active and emotionally stable.
Labels and assumptions serve little purpose and tend to be inaccurate and negative, so why bother?
I think a lot of you guys may need to crack a beer and enjoy, perhaps go to happy hour with our OP and actually be happy!!! Seriously , do you guys really feel this way for real?

| Where do the 30+ women hang out? Posted: 8/28/2008 6:18:11 AM | I fit this category so I will tell you some places where I spend time.
Barnes & Noble - reading books on Home Remodeling
Grocery Store
Home Depot - I LOVE THIS STORE!!! Something in the house always needs upgrading. LOL
Starbucks
In the neighborhood walking the dogs.
Rennaissance Festival
The Docks in Annapolis
The Mall waiting for my daughter to finish spending my money on clothes. LOL
Online - because its less time consuming and easier to weed out the undesirables.
Mostly I am working and taking care of my family.
As a professional in her 30's, there isn't much time to "hang out"...mostly I have my friends over to my house for some fun grilling and watching the game. Network with friends and coworkers. Lots of them have single friends in their 30's. Plus you can be assured that they are at least a little bit credible if they are being suggested by someone you already know. Good Luck!

They have the perfect balance of looks, intelligence, and maturity. Well, I would have said 40 to 45, but maybe that's because I am old. A woman by 40 to 45 has usually figured out who she is. She has survived some life experiences and acquired a life story that makes her unique and interesting, with a personality for you to explore. She has endured some disappointments and healed some bruises and she now knows at last that life is not a fairytale so she is ready to encounter you as a human being, not just as a candidate to fulfill a juvenile fantasy.
Aristotle had something to say about sexuality. He pontificated that men max out at 18, women at 40. In principle, of you believe him, the ideal match for sex would be Dustin Hoffman and Mrs. Robinson.
The early comment about them being bitter, well I have met a few. Wished they would stay in their basements. Approach one of them and you might as well be a rapist and child molester because you will be treated as such when you simply utter a hello and show some interest.
Sure, there will always be some people who don't emerge happily from life's grueling highway with its challenges.
But it's the young women who still have not learned how to take care of themselves who are the ones with the problem of developing a healthy way to react to males. They are treated like bait by horny young men, and don't get enough respect as human beings. Even older men may perceive these young women as arm candy and a trophy rather than respect them as a human being. So they become suspicious and defensive, retreating into their self-protective posture rather than being open.
When women make it to forty they have probably learned all the skills they need to fend off the @rseholes among the males and move on. It takes some experience for a woman to develop her creep-detector.
The women who do make it to those later decades often turn out to be glorious flowers in the garden of life, and they are often fantastically wonderful people. They decorate they world just by existing, and a male who is lucky enough to know some of them within his personal social universe will get all kinds of rewards. Rosebuds are cute but a rose in full bloom is magnificent, a treat to meet. A mature woman can really brighten your life.
