| Is it just me, or is getting married and having children the most pointless thing in the universe? Posted: 6/11/2005 7:35:54 AM | Hey Sun, It seems you have a bleek outlook on life. People would be just as confused reading your profile, as you would be of them. But you have to think, luckily your parents did'nt think you were a waste of time. Or you would not be here to show your opinion of marrage and children. People should not have children if they don't want them. No child should feel unloved. I did not really understand children till I had one of my own. Then everything fell into place. I do respect peoples choices, if they decide they want neather. | |

When I was in my early 20s I might have agreed with some of this. After having my own, I am so glad I di. I filled my biological niche, passed on my genes, and am amused daily.
Did I need marriage to do that? Hell No. Wish I never would have made that blunder and just shacked up with her like the original plan.
And Salamander, what the heck is that ego stuff, LOL

Posted: 6/11/2005 11:26:39 AM | | I raised 3 that were not my own, all from different families, and no fathers involved either... One for 10 years (he is deaf)....kids that were no longer wanted....if you want one, I suggest doing what HB did, and pick one that's already here, that needs love....not 'procreating' to satisfy ego. I also suggest to anyone thinking of doing it, take a trip to Africa, or a third world country first.....
