Maybe their moms were brunettes or maybe because there are more brunettes in the world and men feel they'll score more often if they say they prefer brunettes.
You may have touched on something there. I don't mean this in a strange way, but I think, in some ways, our mothers set certain physical standards that we adopt subconsciously. It could explain why some men cannot abide women of larger stature or women that are too skinny... (Or why they prefer those things.) Myself, a woman whose appearance reminds me too much of a family member, is not attractive to me; but, I do see the possibility that general type similarities are present for what a man can accept physically in a woman, and what his mother looked like when he was a child. I've wondered if this could be important in determining our personal preferences many times. | |

I prefer the Scandinavian and Germanic blondes, that have really light blonde hair and skin.

Posted: 1/4/2009 11:00:51 AM | | i think everyone looks best with their natural color hair. a true blonde is very often beautiful with the pretty blues eyes and pale skin. a brunette like myself looks washed out in blonde hair. i tried it once and it didn't work for me. brunettes have an intense, sultry look which goes with the strong sex drive many brunettes have. that's the latin blood. alot of women dye their hair blonde but they should play up their natural beauty rather than try to be something they are not. | |

better than a cold blond, i guess...
...everyone has their own preference... but of those i've heard state a preference in hair colour particularly, i've actually heard more men have a *thing* for red-heads than blondes...

Posted: 1/4/2009 3:54:27 PM | For some reason,most men I have dated had a preference for darker haired/foreign women. The last two only dated asian women. Other than that, I think most men I know personally as friends don't have a preference for hair color. I have never seen a guy attracted to a woman, just because she is a blond.
So no, not all men care to have a "hot blond" on their arm....but I think it def is a bonus to them if the girl they are dating happens to be highly attractive since men are such visual creatures. | |

Posted: 1/4/2009 4:03:25 PM | I have dated all kinds of women, in multiple shapes, sizes, and hair color, and found that it is all connected to that chemistry that is developed once you meet them and enjoy knowing them better.
I usually date more dark haired women, that are many times of mixed race, native, asian, or a combination of multiple backgrounds, since I am as well.
This does not mean that I do not find other hair color attractive, and I have enjoyed many a blond in my life as well as redheads, but overall, my preferences seem to send me back to darker haired women, with skin tones that are darker as well.
Being attractive is a state of mind with how one presents that package given to you at birth, what you have done with it over the years, and what that package holds when it comes to the total person.......inside and out......

As a real, natural-born blonde, I also have the right to highlight my hair without shame 
(and remember, there are literally hundreds of shades of blonde, not just toe heads). | |

Besides the guy that the OP mentioned is obviously a superficial guy that any intelligent woman would not date anyway. | |

I can't tell you how many profiles I've seen by guys only wanting brunettes. A lot of women who consider themselves intelligent end up dating these guys. Its such a dumb thing to require in a woman, very sad. | |

Posted: 1/5/2009 9:28:39 AM | From what I understand, most men care about her face, her figure, her personality, if she works, if she has kids, her style of hair (long, short, etc) and maybe after ALL that, her hair colour. At the end of the day, a hot brunette will always trump an ugly blonde, and a happy brunette will always trump a mean-spirited blonde.
So, it's not really that important to most men. | |
