Posted: 1/16/2009 12:31:20 PM | | Ok I pondered taking the plung and going from my natural auburn to blonde for over a year. I finally gradually did it over a year ago and this is my experience. I get noticed more by men, maybe not approached by, but I find more men looking at me when I walk in to room or when I driving. I think it's akin to driving a red car it is more noticeable. I love being blonde. My favorite reason is that I don't have to dye those few grays I have and because "people put lower expectations on blondes" which is just a relief lol. The only issue I have is keeping it up. I ususally have the darker roots and let them go as long as possible because of the cost involved. I also think I look slightly younger with blonde hair. I know I am not "fooling" anyone cause I have brown eyes. | |

With that said, I don't think hair color has anything to do with intelligence, nor beauty on any scale, and I'm open to dating women with any haircolor (except maybe bright green or halloween orange :). At the end of the day, it's more who someone is that makes someone attractive or not. | |

Any guys who say "I don't date blondes because they are dumb and brunettes are more 'mysterious'" are also dumb brunettes themselves for actually believing hair color determines intelligence. I'm sure smart blonde women don't have any problem with a guy that dumb not wanting to date them. | |

Most blonds are not real blonds. I've come across brilliant, MENSA-minded blonds as well as dumb blonds. But the exuberant golden color definitely draws ungodly attention. Hey, have you guys heard the "FOOTBALL AND THE BLOND" joke?
"A guy took his blond girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. 'Oh, I really liked it,' she replied, 'especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents! Dumbfounded, her date asked, 'What do you mean?' 'Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!'

I've observed myself and noticed a definite and puzzling preference for dark or 'red' heads...I fight it on occasion because I feel strange observing myself passing perfectly lovely people by simply due to hair colour...but the preference is definitely there nonetheless... | |

Womanoutsidethebox, its the dropping 80 pounds that's the key to getting guy's attention, not the haircolor.
I guess the only way to know is to dye it brown and tally the results....Something I've been meaning to try for a little bit now, just haven't wanted to dye my hair. | |

Posted: 1/23/2009 6:57:16 AM | Hi OP,of course blondes are NOT any more attractive than anyone else,its just that the blonde colouring is more noticeable than brunettes etc so many peoples' eyes including women are more likely to notice them first.
Most people favour one or the other but I have always been attracted to brunettes.
Why do women with blonde hair dye their roots black ?....only joking.

As a real blonde, I used to tell my friends that I was too real and maybe guys would notice me and think I was hotter if I dyed my roots black. | |

Posted: 1/23/2009 3:48:12 PM | | my experience is similar to that of sis4sweet, I've spent most of my life with brown/brunette hair and over the past couple of years have gone progressively blonder, I definately get more attention as a blonde! men stop their cars to let me cross the road, allow me infront of them in queues etc etc, stuff that never happened when I had dark hair. Ultimately I may not have had more dates as a blonde, but its definately more ego boosting being blonde!!!.....well for me any way | |

Much the same as I do in men, Do we have preferences? sure, does it mean most of us would count someone out because they didn't meet all of those preferences? I'm sick of being asked if I'm a natural blonde. I realize they are trying to figure out if the rug matches the drapes. God that's crass.
I now say, if you have to ask then I don't need to tell. Stupid really because my lashes and eyebrows and arm hair is golden blonde so....go figure - yeah my pubes are BLUE of course duh.
Oh yeah and of course I'm dumb. Really dumb...of course, I have to be right?
The whole stupid blonde thing was probably made up by men who hope you are too stupid to reject them and women who are jealous of the attention you get. | |
