Posted: 8/13/2008 1:04:01 AM | | life!! the people i love, climbing a mountain,pretty much anything that ive got to really push myself to achieve....! seeing new places and meeting new people....days like today...a crowded house full of teenagers and their laughter, and now its a bit quieter lol a good movie or a book and a warm fire with the snow falling outside....the cats and dog curled up with me....mucking around with the kids earlier playing with the horses-thats always good for a smile...the horses smiled too lol.....the days at work when i really know that i have made a difference.....when a kid says to me...thanks for always listening , even when ive been a little shit....lol that makes me laugh but its also kinda warm and fuzzy.....knowing that all these things will still make me happy even when life throws lemons!!! | |

when I see others happy, it gives me hope.
what makes me really happy is my daughter and I wish I had more but I am grateful for one that I have.
oh since you are asking and it might become a wish come true winning powerball tomorrow would make me and a lot of others I know Happy toooooooooooo
also poster 32 made me happy the moment I saw her username and what she said about her little darlings.
And one last one please... poster 33 being so happy seeing poster 32, that made me so so so happy that I nearly cried.

What makes me happy? To be back amongst my friends again. What the...? I thought I already got rid of you once? Moderator? Moderator? Where's that moderator when you need him?
I was really happy and just starting to enjoy the peace and quiet, but now...

Posted: 8/13/2008 7:58:16 PM | Watching my youngest son surf. If you knew the battle he had when he was a young boy to go surfing you'd understand. Going surfing with that same son. Him wanting me to go to Bali on another surfing trip. Both being adults and having a love of the same interest... My very stubborn son quitting his apprenticeship to go back to uni to do what he is most gifted at and being happy with his choice.
My eldest son putting his latest album in my room. I have a shrine of his musical achievements on display, along with the teddy bear he made as a 7 year old and his jiu jitsu trophy he got for 'most improved'; an achievement at a time when he'd been very sick. Knowing that people called him a bum for chasing his dream and not having a 'real job'. Me filling up at the garage, son walks in to buy chocolate and a stranger asking him for his autograph.
Finally seeing their father is getting happy.

Bike trip with cool breeze, warm sun, smooth winding roads and good company
You know, there are so many experiences that make different people happy.
Sometimes I think it’s really easy to get complacent and take so much for granted in life that you forget to stop and appreciate the little things. Creating this post and being reminded of the “little things” has made me feel pretty happy

also yesterday i went to a family funeral (my uncle) and this was the first time at a funeral for my children 19 and 17. they were unsure about going and reluctant to do so. i explained they didn't have to go - i would never force them, but it was times like these that family stay strong and stick together, and even though they had only met him once when they were very young and didnt know him well that he was family. he was the brother of their poppy (my dad) and it wasnt for me that they should be there but to support their poppy. and they did. i was proud and happy they way they conducted themselves, they way they stood by their pop and held his hand and comforted him at a very difficult time. and still managed to laugh when they worried i would trip up the steps to the alter or knock over the candles and set fire to the cloth drapped over the coffin when i had to take my turn at a reading. the little cherubs......
yes, i am happy they know the meaning of family (even if under circumstances that are never pleasant for anyone) and that they showed compassion beyond their years. | |

For me....when i get home, there at the back door is my staffyX......prancing, spinning around in circles and making silly noises (not those ones).
If only i could find a woman that showed even half the amount of interest when i got home........except she (the woman) wouldn't have to run around the back yard like an idiot with a palm frong in her mouth. | |
