Posted: 8/15/2008 12:28:43 PM | Yes there is a 16 step (it is more commonly called the Rebel Strut) and is a bit of a challange as you change directions so much, you forget which end is up, which side is next and when the is down i n Georgia, the music, is being used, it really gets hectic at the end.

A 'Wrecker' wouldn't be the same if it wasn't at the Road's, Papabears specialty event.
Way to go for others in planing another event at another location. It is doubtful that I would attend if having to go downtown (unless traveling with others) or to the Ranchman's. You cannot dance much after 10 PM at the Ranchman's without tripping over purses and running into those drinking on the dance floor.
Now for events out at a small town, you bet..

I'm not trying to offend any of you who like that bar, but I know a lot of people find the dance floor way too small, the bands are not of quality, the sound is poor, and the music too loud.
Even though, I'm not a fan of rodeos I'm interested in more info about the Charity Rodeo in Millarville....thanks in advance. | |

There is a very cool rockabilly band playing at Mikey's Juke Joint tonight - I am not sure what the cover charge is, but there is a couple of people I know going, Look for me around 9ish.

Posted: 8/21/2008 4:07:37 AM | I am quite a social butterfly and am not uncomfortable making new friends or acquaintances, I really am not that shy and I like to think that I'm pretty approachable. I think that cliques are just our own interpretations/expectations of a social gathering.
If you try to be open to meeting new people, I find that new people are open to meeting you as well. I try to attend events with the mind set that I'm going to talk to at least 10 new people - regardless of age or gender. Being confident in yourself is also a huge factor for how people react to you.
I promise that when the wrecker is held and we're both there, you can come and chat with me and believe me...I don't have an entourage that you'd be intimidated by ;)

Mostly, I find women, in general, do not like talking to me because I have an inadvertant way of stealing their thunder/attention. I don't mean to sound conceited or anything like that, but I find men will talk to me more easily than women will in a large group. I don't have any girlfriends, and it would be nice to have a couple to hang out with now and then. I mostly hang out with guys, partly because I am interested so much in male oriented hobbies. I didn't plan it that way, it just sort of happened.
I just based my message on previous experience with past POF functions. In reading a lot of these forums, I can see that most of the people on here have done a lot of other things together as a group, like Sunday breakfast, etc.
So, Alluria, I plan on visiting with you for sure then. Especially since you will be new to Calgary. I myself have only lived here for 3 years, but have learned a lot about how to get around and things to do for fun. | |

As for me, POFers aren't stuck up. The very few POF'ers in my umm YEARS on the site that have been stuck up got unstuck pretty good after a few drinks.

It's all about your attitude. Expect people to treat you poorly and that's why you'll find!
Sassy is one exampe of those stuck up Pofers!!! LMAO
oh and all this bickering about where to have? Why not fight about who will be the DD instead of discussing where to have it?
Gosh, folks these are bars not resorts!!! They're pretty much all the same!
