i get my fair share of females who are looking for some idiot to spend money on them and wine and dine them in hopes of a sleep over.
i am just on here for fun. if i wanted a sleep over i could drive 2 miles in either direction and get all of that i wanted.
i just have fun reading the emails and making friends. | |

Think of it this way, at least you don't have to pay here to take the abuse. Simply chaulk-it-up to entertainment, realize that 99% of these sites DON'T work for anybody, and you'll be OK.
It's easier for women anyway - guys are at their mercy here, and in the "real" world.
Is internet dating a joke ? Yup. Will you ever meet anyone here ? Probably not.
Sorry to burst the bubbles of all the Optimists out there, but that's life.
You're born, you live a lonely, sucky life, and then you die.
That's the end of the story for most of us.....

Posted: 9/14/2008 8:36:55 PM | I have to agree...you do take the good with the bad...who just said you even meet "freaks" face to face, not just online.....I recently met a man while on vacation, that ended up living pretty close to me, we spent 2 evenings talking, and he seemed great, we went on a date 3 weeks later, and he was a rude, disrespectful pig! No honor, etc....so you can get that anywhere!! I know plenty of people who have met their awesome loves online....it isn't for everybody, but it works for some....I live in the mountains, w/out many hopes of meeting tons of men....so i'm giving it a try....who knows what can happen???? I agree with Tee62,
PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND DEAL WITH IT!

Most of the women on here say they are not looking for marriage but they reject anyone who is not "single or not divorced". Operators of this site need another category for the profile. "I am not looking for marriage but I want to think I can do that if I change my mind and people who are not single of divorced are not available so don't bother to contact me". Also, pictures of the people are misleading or old and do not depict the current circumstances of the individual. The pictures are just bait. Thanks, but no thanks anymore. | |

Finding a lifelong partner is never easy, nor should it be, but I see too many people needlessly complicate the search by having unrealistic goals and too many boxes on their checklists. Oh well, if people are presumably that content to stay single who am I to force a relationship on them? ...lol
Another keyword I keep hearing over and over again (mostly from women) is not "settling". Apparently, too many use it as a convenient excuse to inoculate themselves from relationship happiness. Many are content to wait for their perfect match until h*ll freezes over or they die of old age. If that's your goal, again, who am I to presume to question your dating behavior? But you'll be just as alone when you're dead, so might as well find someone now while you still can.

I have been on here for almost a year..The first couple months I did not get many emails because I did not have a pic posted. Then in Feb 2008 I had some pic taken and posted. I was bombarded with emails..Most talk was about how soon they could have sex...Then I updated my profile and let everyone know I was a born again christian who believed in sex only after I am married. The the emails tapered off. I hardly get any now...Your are right sex seems to be the biggest topic here! What happened to and I quote: (I would love to meet a decent, honest lady with morals and values.) Did those morals and values you speak off suddenly go flying out the window just because I am a christian and now U want a Shady Lady! Make up your mind guys do U want decent or sleazy...I am still a very fun loving /spontainous / adventureous /loving person only more so because I get the most out of the life God as given me. I am an happy outgoing person. so I did not come on here to find someone to make me happy but to find someone to be happy with! God Bless U all and Good Fishin....  | |

Posted: 9/16/2008 5:00:47 AM | ^^^^ The BIGGEST problem on any Internet dating site is really not the fault of the sites themselves -- Distance. The topic has been done to death on countless threads so I'm not going to rehash things here.
If women think the second biggest problem is a dearth of quality choices and the lack of finding a partner with even basic moral principles, then you might as well stay single. Any Internet dating site, especially popular ones like this, is a mirror of the larger society around us, so there's a good possibility if you can't find what you seek here you're not gonna find anything better out "there".
Another observation I see from women is a lot of this "all I get are creeps writing me asking for sex...etc" complaining. Just how many guys are YOU writing to and seriously following up with? I see too much Little Princess/Queen Syndrome, sitting-waiting-hoping, pursue-and-catch-me-if-you-can crap.
If you don't take any initiative and proactively seek a "quality" choice yourself (that means using your OWN time, effort, and money), guess what? you get whatever comes your way instead. | |

When I'm on POF I try not to be locked in on finding someone but just having fun and if this is the intended medium for me to meet someone I will. Men are here to find a woman.
Women are here to boost their ego. Why? Because it is easy to sit on a website that girls KNOW guys come to to find women. They KNOW that guys are here for THEM.
If no guys came here, would there be women? What need for the shepherd when the wolves have all gone?
And putting up a picture does NOT always help you get mails. When I had a pic, I still
recieved NO replies. And mind you I was here for 2 years straight, awhile back, and NEVER recieved a reply.
I've done alot of study on this site...you wouldn't believe some of the results. | |
