| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 6/25/2009 6:20:35 PM | Tonia,
You have received some very precious gifts to help you walk the right path. Do remember that it's not a man/woman thing when it comes to badness, heartbreak and such. It's all about maturing and adopting the right values. Go see what cinsav had to say. These days, we've got to travel through a swamploand full of filth, snakes, gators and critters. That's a figure of speech just to say, let's get though it without forgetting that people were created for one another. We just have to learn to treat others right. So, when looking for a good match make sure that you treat others well and that will attract the best people for you. Otherwise, you're stuck in the swamp with all the evil beasts and horrors to boot.

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 6/25/2009 9:39:43 PM | | I still have faith in love...sometimes. I lose faith from time to time because of the men I attract. They have no concept of the word or what it means. They only seem to think that it is something you should say and not something you're supposed to feel and mean. I keep hoping for the day that it finds me. | |

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 6/25/2009 10:13:00 PM | You know, sometimes I feel like you do, but then again and again I kept falling in love and gave it all, all over again! I don't want to give up, because that passion I have gets me so high when I am in love (though when it hurts, it's so much more painful!). Don't get me wrong, I don't give my heart away easily, but when I do... | |

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 6/25/2009 10:25:17 PM | Do I still have faith in love? yes, or else I wouldn't be here. ;-) I don't believe in the overly romantic "love conquers all" that's depicted in novels and movies. But I want to believe in mutual attraction, respect, bringing out the best in each other, and being happy by making each other happy. It's worked for my grandparents. They've been happily married for over 70 years! I'm sure it hasn't always been a bed of roses, but somehow they made it work. So have other couples. Why shouldn't we be able to, with the right person? Now, I, for one, need to reconsider the type of man I fall for/let come close! Obviously, I've been doing something wrong there, 'cause I keep getting disappointed. But realizing I have a problem is the first step in fixing it! | |

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/20/2009 10:06:36 AM | I have faith that I can find a woman to grow old with and find immense joy in each others company. I do not believe though I can find some childish idea of a soulmate in my 30s that will give me the same "butterfly" feelings of too much hormones in the blood stream like when i was 17. Neither would I really care to feel that again even if I could emotionally. My only real issue with this site is most women I contact on here seem to have the notion of love as the latter and not the former. | |

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/20/2009 12:51:53 PM | I still have faith.
I'm still dealing with the aftermaths of a broken heart. I loved this girl so completely, so intensely, and truly, that it actually repaired my faith in love even though it didn't work out.
I came to realize that true love isn't just a feeling. Or an infatuation. Or sexual and physical attraction, or intellectual connection. It is all those things and one other.
It is a decision.
You have to decide that it is ok to fall in love. You have to decide to put all those chips to the center of the table and go all in. You decide to trust. You decide to share. A lot of the other things, those warm fuzzy feelings and attractions, those things we can't control. That is our primal, animal, sensual side. But the decision to love is what makes us human.

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/20/2009 8:22:58 PM | Well, I have a sister who has been married for 30 years and she and her husband have the greatest marriage I have ever seen, they absolutely adore each other and if you ever saw the two of them together you would know love exists.
Have I ever had it? No!
Do I have faith in it? Not I don't, I really don't believe it exists for me anyway I hold no hope of ever having it.
I have only truly loved 2 men and both of them were not worth loving and I got very hurt as in the first one told me how much he loved me but yet failed to tell me he had a girlfriend, the second guy, well , we were supposed to get married,I went to see a sister who had cancer, I came home he was oh so in love with me , he missed me soooo much, I went to work the next day I came home from work and all my stuff was on the lawn and his ex wife was in the house.
If that's love I want no part of it!

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/20/2009 8:52:56 PM | I stop believing a while back. Too many scars from women with fickle hearts. It seemed like they were just trying me out and then discarding me like a pair of running shoes. One girlfriend I lost to a friend because he lusted after her. She was later discarded by him and we became friends but never tried to be in relationship again. I couldn't trust her that way ever again. Another gf left me for a richer guy. I don't have any expectations anymore, and I lost faith in any notion of love.
I'm starting to realize it's a matter of tolerances. Most couples I know dislike each other to some extent, but they tolerate each other. The complaint I get is that I'm too nice, or I treat my girlfriends too much like a friend (I open up and tell them my feelings and such), for some reason that's a bad thing. But a friend told me something that which I now think is true, girls want a mystery. They love what they can't understand, they don't want communication, they always want to be guessing because it's all apart of some sort of stupid game that I don't understand. I guess this is where the term, "the game of love" comes from... completely stupid, and I can't play the game because I don't understand the stupidity.

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/21/2009 4:28:45 AM | | You're girlfriend is SUPPOSED to be your friend, the one you can share your hopes and dreams with, the one you can and should trust with everything, including your heart. AND someone to give your love to. | |

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/24/2009 1:44:22 AM | | It may be naïve of me, but I still really do believe in love. I believe that there's this invisible connection between certain people -- soulmates, if you will -- and that no matter how much you go through, love is still alive and real. Love is truly the hardest emotion to endure, and I have to believe that it's worth it, or else why would people feel it? | |

I really just feel like I will never meet the right guy and worse still I'm not even willing to give out my heart again any more. It sounds depressing but thats really how I feel.
Anybody feels the same way? Do we or shall we still have hope?
I feel exactly the same way. I know I'm lonely. Guess that's why I check out these boards. But I'm not willing to put myself out there. It's just a waste of time and I've lost hope.

| Do you still have faith in love? Posted: 7/24/2009 5:49:31 AM | | Absolutely, I do believe in love. The key is to remember the difference between love and being in love. Being in love is self serving/selfish. Love is sacrificial. Both are wonderful, but different. Don't confuse them. | |
