| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/27/2008 1:28:39 PM | I don't know if I ever see myself as anything but me, I often feel emotions, I don't want to sound morbid but I have had several dreams about my deceased parents and sister, they don't last long and I don't ever remember talking to them, I read somewhere deceased people come back to you in your dreams, they are letting you know they're OK and looking over you.
Most of the other dreams I have are normal, sometimes I'm being chased by someone, others are X rated, some are just plain stupid, I woke up many times thinking, why would I dream about something like that. They always seem to be me, like I'm looking through my eyes when I'm awake.

In the few of dreams of mine about POF People whitefether, you are always the same age.
That was funny.
All except one of my dreams were first person - which makes them feel all the more real, so I have no clue what I looked like. The one where I did see myself, I looked my actual age at the time. My body was laying on an operating table as I hovered above deciding whether to return or just keep ascending through the ceiling.
I chased a bad guy down a dark street in a dream once and got shot in the process, blowing me backward right off my feet. It was LOUD and the punching-burning-penetrating sensation of being hit was so real, it jolted me awake and I looked at the clock - It was a few minutes before 8 pm. I couldn't turn over or move that part of my body without paralyzing pain and even breathing caused me to wince from pain. I lay in bed for almost half an hour before being able to finally sit up around 8:20 or so.
All gone - just a really intense dream! When I first woke, it took me 10 minutes before I dared reach over to check if someone really had shot me while sleeping. No bullet hole to be found - just wet. Was it blood? No, just pouring sweat.
I made sure not to chase any bad guys down dark streets that night at work. Later described it to a co-worker who really had been shot and he said that's how it feels right to a "T".

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/28/2008 11:07:54 AM | Not really on the subject, but I had a dream where I was some kind of very large animal in an alley. I could smell the grass and the dirt and my hearing was very acute. It was 1st person, so I did not see myself in the dream, but senses were soooo heightened that I know I was some kind of animal, not human animal.

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/28/2008 11:30:38 AM | Interesting question! I believe I must dream in first person most of the time cuz I can't recall seeing myself. Try DreamMoods dot com. I use it a lot for help interpretting dreams... when I remember them. | |

...Usually much, much thinner haha. Its strange but it seems like I am a spectator in most of my dreams...watching and observing. And no one is really dead... Shortly after my mom passed away she came to me in a dream.....I remember vividly hearing someone knocking at my front door, so of course I go to see who's there and when I open the door, there she is, my mom looking as beautiful as ever. So I'm shocked, I can't believe she's standing right in front of me so I say, " mom, I thought you were dead." and she looks at me with a puzzled look on her face and says, "don't be silly, do I look like I'm dead". And I accept that...and I'm happy...and we go on as if all were normal.

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/28/2008 4:21:25 PM | Interesting.
I had one dream where I think I encountered dead people - at least they appeared to be dead, or else they had very, very bad personal hygiene practices! However, I had no clue who exactly they may have been.
I don't recall ever seeing anyone I know who has passed as part of my dreams. I'm not very prone to believing in spooky/dangerous ghost types - wonder if that has anything to do with it?

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/28/2008 8:46:49 PM | | I'm always a scared little girl in my dreams, but sometimes just full of wonderment and innocence.....sooooo not like me in real life. | |

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/29/2008 6:28:33 AM | Well all my life, I've had a huge lion by my side and he's my guardian.
I think because I'm so confident in my waking life, that I push that little girl and her lion in a closet, but they escape at night.

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/29/2008 9:52:00 AM | Mine must always bee 1st person. I don’t ever remember seeing myself in a dream.
I've had MANY flying dreams. Think they started when I was a kid? Almost always start out in a field or pasture with me running and then just going airborne and flying around the country side. Flying down through the trees and stuff like that. Closest thing I could relate it to would be Mario flying around in the video game. I would attribute it to that except Mario and video games weren't invented when I started having the dream.

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/29/2008 11:21:20 AM | | My flying dreams started because of a nightmare I had had all my life. There were 3 men chasing me with knives down a narrow alley and I knew they were going to kill me but I didn't know why. I had had that same nightmare for as long as I could remember and I always woke up terrified before they caught me. One night years ago when my kids were still at home, I had my nightmare again, but this time I came to a dead end and there was no escape. I knew it was over, but the next thing I knew I was floating above a beautiful meadow with trees to the side and it was so peaceful. I never had my nightmare again, but I've flown in my dreams off and on since then. It seems that once you know you can do it, it's the most natural thing in the world to do. It's just disorienting when you wake up and realize you have to put your feet on the ground and walk to the bathroom. | |

| How Do You See Yourself In Your Dreams Posted: 8/30/2008 4:44:49 AM | | Often in my dreams I am just me. But, I read a lot, and I have dreams that are like novels or movies, and I am the protagonist or narrator, whether it be man, woman, or child. Also, I will often change character in the midst of the dream, in the same way point of view might change in a story......point is, 'I' in the dream am the one from whose point of view the story is being told.... | |
