dude, you date?...your profile says IE...not the same as dating kiddo! I want compatibility, along with appealing to my eye and great personality, of course a good libido...isn't that what all it all comes down to for happiness and contentment, for either gender?

Oh Divine!!! That's not how I boil it down. It's a very individual thing. So many factors. Compatibility, appeal, great personality are individual tastes. Compatibility goes without saying. What about morality? Because we all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences to draw from, we will all see different values in different individuals. Remember back in high school how we judged others and then decided who we could date. It's different for everyone and that's what I'm talking about. It's constant often as we age - even though we may date more or less or for different reasons or make different choices, we often come back to our original values and morals that were instilled in us at a much younger age. Being on a dating site brings you in touch with people from all walks of life. Maybe if there was a section for 'where you came from' - we would get more insight than whether a person checks off smokes cigarettes or drugs and maybe is telling the truth. eg. One profile says DOES NOT SMOKE and in details says responding person must be a non-smoker. Ridiculous!!! lol This individual is a chronic chain smoker. What the......? You only have to see a few discrepancies to question the masses.

yes linnylou...I do agree that all are individual factors...I personally consider morals and values a part of compatibility... back in highschool, lol.. alot of teens judged others by who they were friends with...not just who they dated...judged thru association...still happens...adults do it too smokers shouldn't try to deceive non smokers. and vice verse..they are wasting their time...I smoke and I state that in my profile...I also smoke pot SOCIALLY (nothing stronger thanks) and I checked off "no drugs" only for the mere fact that my kids and their friends are on here as well...also for work purposes...however, it is the ONLY discrepancy in my profile and that tidbit of info is corrected to the dude in question before meeting ...he can make that judgement call then if he still wants to meet me or not...personally, I wouldn't date anyone who did hard drugs...another reason I debated with myself and chose to leave that out of my profile...alot of "druggies" search for other "druggies" on here ..it's a way of not drawing the wrong ppl to my profile

I saw the thread on what men really want so I thought, lets ask the same question to the women of POF? Is Chris Rock correct in saying "everything" I am curious to hear what women have to say on this topic. If there was an answer to either question ( what do men/women want ), then sites like this would have no reason for being. Chris Rock is a wise man. His new standup special is good.
