~Men who hit on me in the midst of my workout

Tip: wear headphones, even if you're not actually listening to any music. Works 95% of the time, according to my girlfriend.

~Men who STARE at My butt when I am squating...or dead lifting...even worse when Im stretching

Not good if they are blatant or intrusive about it, but come on, you should feel fortunate that you have a butt worth staring at! (I'm one of the more subtle ass-watchers, ahem.)

sets the weights down, and proceeds with his workout, a totally different muscle group.
Not everyone subscribes to bodypart splits.

people who steal your weights/machine/bench right after you go to get water, never ask if youre done or anything
I have a pet peeve with people who don't "mark their territory" and walk away, yet expect people to know that they're "using" a particular piece of equipment. Applies to supersetters too. One of the best gym accessories that most people don't bring is a towel. Leave your towel, water bottle, training log, etc at the equipment for a minute or two and I will respect that. At the other extreme, don't leave your stuff on the equipment and walk away for long periods of time. On heavy days, I might be 5mins between sets, but I stand close by that station, keep my towel there as a clue, but always let people work in if they need to.

Also - folks who don't put their equipment away - if you're strong enough to lift it, you're strong enough to put it away.
Curling in the squat rack.
Guys (always seems to be the males) who have to do DB stuff right up against the mirror, thereby blocking access to the DB rack. Step back a few feet, buddy. You'll look the same in the mirror.
Grunting can be outright hot, if you're squatting with 600lbs on your back. Curling 30lbs DB's...not so much.
I don't really care if others have bad form. It just makes me look better.

Ok - hehehe - here goes I have to clean up after everyone after a long day at the gym!!! You haven't even seen anything until you've had to CLEAN the locker rooms!!!
* guys dried on, stuck on boogers stuck to the walls and floors of the shower stalls
* women's sanitary napkins thrown into the toitie for me to fish out
* dirty undies hanging so that I may dispose of them after someone's sweaty workout
* puke left in the "sanitary bucket" in the ladies bathroom stall
* not flushing the urinal & spitting in it - that stuff is too thick to go down!!! - guys you can point and shoot - hit the damn hole - that's what it's there for
* Men shaving in the counter sinks and leaving all their fuzz
* spitting in the sinks and leaving the stuff there for someone else to maneuver around!
* circuit trainers who insist they own the equipment and won't allow others to jump in - bad bad bad bad!!!

And believe it or not - that's only the small stuff!

Squat rack curlers and the bench press crowd(you always see them waste their entire workouts on the bench and never squatting or deadlifting).

The gym for me is old school...the weights room is the big boys room...we can sweet there...we can yell there...we can stack the plates on and there will be some there that will spot you and offer verbal support (spotting is something us old boys did before all the hydrolic, machincal machines come along to make your work out easier)

Dont get me wrong I am all for women in the gym and I always and I mean always afford them the respect of not watching their butt or other bits while they work out and I guess they would do the same...mmm no I have court them taking a perv at other guys in the gym when they can...we can all do it

I just want to say that if you walk into the mens lockers you should be prepared to see and smell somethings you may not like to see or smell...but if the weight room guys come out onto the bikes, machines then yeh fair enough put on roll on but not too much and of a scent that is exceptable and that towel should always be handy.

Gyms are there to be enjoyed and if they are not..then maybe you have pickedd the wrong pass time = )

Ok, seriously dude - I hope you're joking! First think comfort - how comfortable can one be squatting in jeans! LOL! Think about the "guys" and how they're feelin..... guess that's the idiots prob that wore the darn things!

Second, getting the vinyl replaced because someone was wearing jeans that scratch etc. If they want to pay for that stuff - heck have em give out their credit card and they can wear whatever the stink they want! It states right on our contract that you have to have workout attire on. One guy comes in with chains attached from his belt to his walled and leaves it hanging out to scratch everything up. DAH!!! He's been warned about 10 times. Finally had to tell him that if I saw it again he'd have to leave it out in the car. He's a little mentally slow, so we haven't pushed it, but after several months of telling him over and over - it gets old! What's so difficult about wearing shorts, workout pants, a t-shirt and tennis shoes to the gym!!! Why does one feel the need to wear jeans and a denim shirt & flip flops!!!

I have worn jeans during impromptu training sessions, or if I jump into one vehicle and my gym bag is in the other. I am not going to miss a workout just because I am uncomfortable, I'll just do something like chest or arms, something that doesn't require a whole lot of mobility.

Onto my peeves.

The crappy easy listening/dance/r&b music that most gyms play, I have workout partners so headphones aren't really appropriate.

When the gym buys yet another new piece of cardio equipment when we need heavier dumbbells.

People who suck at weightlifting, not new lifters, but people that have been lifting for a long time and still do things like lat pulldowns to their waist.

Bosu balls and the people who use them for anything other than abs.

Decline bench press.

People who do their stretching and/or yoga in the weight room.

People who don't lift heavy because "they want to stay functional"

People who don't put their weights away.

People who ask to work in, but can't do the same weight so we have to load and unload between every set.

There are more, but those are the main ones.

Im GUILTY !!! I LOVE doing squats on the bosu ball turned upside down!
I LOVE doing bicep or hammer curls on the buso ball ......I have to focus on pulling my abs tight and can't dare to think of using my back when it gets hard, or i'll lose my balence and fall off. The Bosu ball is Awsome !!

No, I'm serious... I'm joking!

I get peeved at people who steal from the gym. Last week ten two-hundred pound weights were stolen. Somebody just walked off with 'em... a big guy.

I was wondering the same thing.......sounds like a hell of a gym, but then again to NOT even notice someone stealing 10-200 pound weights... but I got a chuckle anyways.

The stinkin moron who parks in the handicap parking, comes in and annoys the bajeebas out of EVERYONE in the gym and then runs on the treadmill for 45 min!!!

If you're running on the treadmill - chances are someone else needs that parking spot much more than you - its probably his mommy's!!!

As aat123 has said earlier.

Lads who wear denim jeans and designer t shirts to do a session. They obviously feel they must look trendy for all occasions. Would be ok if the gym i train at was mixed. Idiots.

Most days nothing gets under my skin....but every now and again, the heckles on the back of my neck get raised by the following:
+The crash of weights onto a stack through them not being controlled properly
+Not so personal music
+queing for equipment really close to user still working out on it
+non observance of time limits for using certain equipment

....and in the swimming pool, lots of bad behaviour goes on which really irkes me:
+ soles of feet finger flicking
+ remaining in fast lane when skills clearly are best suited to slow lane
+ making a kick contact during breaststroke but not apologising

....and when cycling on the road:
+ sudden bursts of overtaking speed only when overtaken - despite maintaining a constant speed prior to having been overtaken

And another thing - whats with the grunting in sauna's - what's that about?

my peeves:

1. People who "use" the equipment for an hour or so because they're too busy talking to a buddy instead of finishing their workout so someone can use it. These people are usually metros, gays, or just out of shape gym rats who hang out there a few hours a day just to make friends.

2. People who use too much weight. These guys will have a stick arms and pick up 40lb dumb bells. They'll swing from side to side as they try to get enough momentum to swing the weight up so they can feel like they're working out when in reality they just look retarded.

3. Guys who drop weights. I understand if your pressing 150lb dumbbells its difficult to put them down gently, but don't freaking drop them from 4ft above the floor so they can bounce all over the place nearly landing on the foot of the guy next to you. If you can't somewhat control the weight when finishing your set, then use less weight.

4. Chicks on cell phones. These chicks will get on a treadmill or eliptical and walk at maybe 2 or 3 mph.....They'll be on the phone the whole time having some stupid conversation about bullshit that they don't even really care about but it doing this does 2 thigns for her. Her loud conversation gets her attention because ppl are looking at her and the second is she is subliminally showing off to her friends or a guy or whomever is on the phone that she cares about herself enough to go to the gym. These women are shallow and insecure and usually fat or prissy.

5. Stinky sweaty ppl. I know, its a gym, you workout you sweat. Hell, 20min into my workout my shirt is soaked in sweat. I load up on the deoderant though!!! I don't smell!!! I make an effort not to burden others with the scent of an in and out burger spewing out of my arm pits. If you're going to the gym, load of on the deoderant. Cologne doesn't count as deoderant. If you load up on cologne you're just gonna smell like a persian who works at in and out buger. Not cool.

6. People who don't wipe down the equipment when they finish with it, leaving it drenched in sweat......if you don't come with a towel, you seriously should not be allowed in the gym. I wish gyms would enforce this.

i'm gona leave it at that even though there are a few more things that bother me, but those are the majors.
