I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I am thinking of scheduling a trip to DC in late January. . . I want to be a part of history. . . the day America forgot color. . .

Do you mean pasty white? McCain's the whitest white boy I've every seen, and that will be the color we're seeing on January 20 -- unless he picks a black VP, and I don't see one on the radar.

All the "political" stuff here is pretty meaningingless, the truth is in where these Republican administrations have gotten us and we are in deep shit because of the neglect and idiocy on the domestic side. NONE of the major problems we face at home has ANY solutions on the horizen, where we are is in DEEP DEBT and in two WARS and an economy in shambles because big business has had its way with it.

You guys went into Iraq and tried to impose your wet dream on it......."privatizing" it under Bremer, importing just about everything while snubbing Iraqi workers, trashing their culture while jealously guarding their oil, a military that completely had its pants down while vast stores of missles and bombs were unguarded and people just walking off with them.....a joke.

I've had enough crazy Republican crap and don't want to see any more of it for a long, long time. All you do is give to the rich and powerful and SCREW the general population..........enough, already.

"Trickle down" is a good idea if it means new factories and jobs.....the problem is, though, that the new factories and jobs being created are in INDIA AND MEXICO AND CHINA with our tax money. Time for trickle up!!!

McCain has NOTHING TO OFFER. ZILCH. NADA. And it is the damned truth, it would be FOUR MORE YEARS OF BUSH AND YOU KNOW IT.

GO AWAY!!!!! GET LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Color is not an issue anymore.... everyone has the same opportunities now....That excuse is no longer valid at all....

We do forget about color... cept when Obama himself or the Jesse Jacksons, some rap music, etc. keep harping on it. Geez. Get over it.

Unfortunately in some sectors of our society racism, sexist, religion still shape the opinions of quite a few. My oldest sister (16 yrs older than me) is a Texan through and through, and as she said to me, "I'm not just not ready to vote for a black guy as President." She would have voted for Hillary though.

You have absolutely no idea how racially judgmental that sounds do you?

McCain's skin is like that cause he spent 5 1/2 years...blah blah blah

He could always pick Alan Keyes to run with him.

What? McCain's not going to pick Hillary! I thought with all these republican commercials featuring Hillary that they were going with her for VP.

Biden is up for re-election but another Dem will likely win his seat.

I actually think Biden has a 10 times worse personality than John Kerry. Biden is really really obnoxious and he's a guy that loves to appear on the sunday talk shows and tell everyone how much smarter he is and knows everything and how loud he can talk.

It would be a miracle if he can help in Virginia and if Obama can't win Penn on his own, then he deserves to lose the election. I think Biden will likely say something really stupid and deep six the ticket.

AMEN, wanabfre!!! I agree that the Obama/Biden ticket is outstanding! Obama shows excellent judgement by picking Biden, a good and honorable family man who has much international experience to complement Obama's strong domestic experience. Both Obama and Biden are good men and they will bring our country back from the damage that Bush and its cohorts have imposed on our country.

McCain's choice just makes me ask: What the frack? What an irresponsible choice to leave a "hockey mom" with way less experience than even Sen. Obama had (President Lincoln had the same experience level as Obama has today and was one of our greatest Presidents) to run our country! Obama cares deeply about our country and wants a good man in charge of our nation if God forbid Obama got sick and died. Anything can happen--my Dad died of cancer when he was only 54.

GO OBAMA/BIDEN!!!

Yes, designingwoman. McCain making a very irrational choice truly makes me question his judgement. I do not want him to be commander in chief with my son in Iraq. I do not desire her to be second if she is a Rambo woman. We need a level headed person and someone that knows his way around congress and the world.

I agree with your comments. Biden was a great choice. He has years of experience that you need in these troubled times. Just compare the qualififcations of the two VP's and it is no contest.

Betting on intrade is up to 14 on that. (betting 14 bucks will get you 100 if it happens).

Place your bets early, the odds will be less generous tomorrow.

It is really looking not good. They just stated that Bush endorsing McCain supports Obama's more of the same theme, and a questionable VP. They found out her husband has a DUI not DWI and her mother in law spoke poorly of her. They have sent a team to Alaska to investigate. McCain made this decision alone. No one in the inner circle new her.

I would have loved to have seen my guy, Bill Richardson, on the ticket...but America is definitely NOT ready for two men who are half NON WHITE to be in the WHITE House....

I didn't know much about Biden til recently, and I'm impressed with him...and I can certainly feel confident that if something happens to Obama...since we have so many damn crazy racists in this country.....that Biden can run the country.

I should pray every day nothing happens to Obama. If something from some racist were to befall him that would possibly tear this country apart. It would resonate on a level we've never seen before and it would be global. The world would see the ugliness of who we are full front and center. Credibility would be out the window for an extremely long time. BUT... I don't think it will happen.

What I'm fascinated by is the people who are disgusted that choosing Biden in some way shows that Obama has backtracked on the subject of change.

I don't read it like that at all. In order to pursue change, he has to get into the White House in the first place. So, he picks a VP who balances him well, especially in his weaker area (like ANYONE has ever really had the right foreign policy experience before becoming President! And does being a former POW really count?), to appeal to those Democrats who are a bit nervous of Obama.

Once he's in the White House, we'll soon see whether he pursues the change agenda as previously outlined. But, seriously, people, could anyone make Bush's legacy to the world any worse than it currently is?

I don't envy whoever gets into the White House the job of clearing up GWB's vomit.

AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!

Seriously Biden's international experience nicely complements Obama's domestic experience. They will make a great team. I hope and pray nothing happens to Obama, but people have died suddenly of natural causes at young ages. One of my father's friends died young while he was jogging. The man was very healthy, and there was no indication of anything that could have led to his sudden and unexpected death. Obama is wise to consider having a good man in charge should he die suddenly. Obama also shows his love of this country by picking a man who can take over at a moment's notice if God forbid he has a heart attack or dies in an accident. McCain shows not only poor judgement, but a callous disregard for our country's future by choosing this woman who would not know what to do if McCain died suddenly.

These veep picks definitely reveal quite a bit about McCain and Obama. Obama has the sound judgement to lead and make sensible decisions. McCain is irrational and unable to make reasoned decisions and should not be our next President.
