IDK, SEEMS LIKE IT'S GONE FROM BEING A MEET AND GREET FOR POFERS TO ENJOY TO A "BOOST YOUR EGO & BAR TAB BY HAVING THE LARGEST GROUP OF PEOPLE "PARTY.

The post for the contest was meant for everyone to bring SINGLE people with them, but I can't single them out, because EVERYONE is welcome to come!
Everyone who is part of the Meet and Greet Party will have a name tag and Mardi Gras beads to let everyone else know that they are participants. If your married, I wouldn't suggest participating in the Meet and Greet ice-breaker activity but you may if you like. The game "Secret Movie Star" is to get SINGLE people to mingle and meet/chat with each other.
I saw many negative posts about all of the "SIGN UPS" but "NO SHOWS!" that I decided to try the contest. We have 2 bars side by side, plus we have a very large patio area outside! I think having 300-400 SINGLE people LIVE and IN PERSON together in a safe atmosphere is AWESOME!
I'm sorry if it's too crowded for you, and we hope that you change your mind!

I've been reading and paying attention. Some people are just trying to lighten things up & don't mean to offend, while the offended react on emotion immediately. Take a breath, try to think of the others perspective, and simply state what the percieved problem is. This is really not the proper forum to air any greivences, our gracious hostess has already stated that our POF names will be on our name tags. My suggestion is to make note of who's name offended and discuss it with them there (off to the side to avoid problems) or, better yet, simply avoid that individual all together. Remember, opinions mean nothing to anyone except the person stating it (yes, this includes me & my opinion).
With that being said, lets remember what we are here for. The best meet & greet possible and, more importantly, to make new friends at a great PARTY.

We need to lighten up a bit, which is part of the problem we are all having with the opposite sex. I believe it's called "COMMUNICATION"! True, not all of us will jive....but you never know, until you meet someone in person and start learning a bit about one another. Isn't that the purpose of a "Meet 'N' Greet". Earlier, someone posted that we should wear our best scales to the party. Since we're going to be packed in like sardines, perhaps a second coat of deoderant wouldn't hurt either : ) Being crowded will make "getting to know one another" even more fun...if we keep an open mind and an adventurous spirit. I look forward to meeting new friends...both male and female...and if we're lucky...we might meet someone special. Thanks for putting together such a great party....i look forward to being a part of more, in the future.   | |

I just returned from touring the Candlewood Suites with management. They are very excited to have us! So excited in fact, that they have reduced their rate another $10!!! Rooms are now $75 per night!!! Anyone who has already booked will get the $75 rate!! These are standard queen rooms. You may upgrade to doubles, king, or 1 bedroom suite with a fold out couch for $10-$30 extra. Every room has a kitchenette in it, complete with dishes! Each room has a large flat screen tv with dvd player. They even provide DVD movies for free! They have a gym for those who want to work out. They provide FREE washers and dryers! They have a very nice picnic area with a new gas grill ready for your own private party!! They even provide the gas!!! This is a brand new hotel! This place is awesome! I wanted to move in!!!
Please read all of page 1 in reguards to hotel information. Please make your reservations now so that if we need to add rooms to our block we still we can. There's a MS/TN home game that weekend and rooms are booking up fast!!!

I've tried to send emails to everyone from out of town in reguards to hotel information. Sorry if you recieved two of them. I had no idea this party would get this big and didn't know we would need so many rooms!
For the people staying at the hotel...there's a very nice patio area behind the hotel, near the pool, with a new, large gas grill ready to be lit! If any of you would like to get together for a BBQ while your there...just post the time on the party link!
Again, all of the new hotel information is on page 1 with the party information.

Posted: 10/1/2008 7:39:02 AM | Okay, so this is what I'm doing. I've checked out local taxi service and to no suprise their prices are outrageous so I've decided to be a DD for my fellow pofers!!
I will have to charge though. I can pick you up and take you to the party and bring you back to your desired location or just take you back from the party. Whatever you choose. From Brackins Sports Bar to the airport will be $15 and if you're in Knoxville that's okay too, just send me an email and we'll figure something out!!
The po po is really bad around here and the cab fares are ridiculous so I'm just trying to help. So, just dance and drink and I can take you home.

And, although I do believe in the more the merrier for a party, I just have to wonder how effective it will be for 'locals' to actually meet (I live in Knoxville and work in Maryville) and get to know one another. Would it be fair to ask that everyone include where they are from on their nametags? As a social event, of course, that isn't a deciding factor... but, some people may want to know upfront where the person they are "sizing up" is from lol
Seriously, it may even prove to be beneficial for the out-of-towners because they may see someone at the party that they assume to be from here who is actually their neighbor.

It will be just like a taxi except it won't cost you as much! PLUS, I don't have crappy stuff all over my seats from all those nights of sexy strangers getting freaky in the back seat!!
I'll come up with a schedule once eyerybody gets with me and let's me know what time they wish to arrive at the party and will be able to provide, to you pofers , a prompt pick up time.

TO EVERYONE THAT IS BOOKING A ROOM AT OUR HOST HOTEL...CANDLEWOOD SUITES ...
I'm making a list of everyone that is staying at the Candlewood Suites. This list will be sent ONLY to each person that is on it, and ONLY to those that have booked at this hotel. This might make cab sharing , grilling, party, etc easier.  
If you would like to be included on that list please email me directly. If you are comfortable with posting that information, that's fine too.
On Oct 14th I will send the list to everyone that is included on it. This will give each of you 3 days to email anyone directly that is staying at the Candlewood Suites to make any plans, arrangements or just introduce yourself.
Feels to me like this party has already started!!! YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!!

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THE CUT OFF DATE FOR THE ROOM BLOCK IS OCTOBER 10TH!!! After that date our blocked rooms will be released to the public! It's a home game weekend and the hotel will be full! If they have any rooms after the 10th you can still get the $75 rate  but you are taking a big chance on getting the room! PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW! If we see that we will need more rooms we can still get them!
Again, please read all of the hotel information in page 1 along with all of my to stay current with this event!

Looks like this party just keeps growing. I just made my reservations at Candlewood Suites and i look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
I'll be coming in from East of Knoxville so if there is anyone from Cookeville on needs a ride let me know ok. I have room for an additional 3-4 people in my car and i don't mine getting some of you to and from the hotel, I consider myself a very responsible drinker and driver and will stop any consumption way before time to head to the room.
So lets all have fun and please leave any drama at home........

This is the funny part I actually had typed West in the first time and said heck no it's East (duh) I actually had in my mind I was heading East so thats the mixup. Ok I'll hush now before I confuse the rest of you all including me and head South .
