Obama and camp were so h ell bent on showing how they could diss the Clintons and not put Hillary on the ticket. They were determined to not look like wusses. Especially Obama. He, himself, admits, least it was demonstrated in his Bio this weekend, that he has a super ego. It got in the way and they ignored the stronger ticket with Clinton as VP.
Huh? Please decipher? | |

Well, as of this moment Obama has increased his lead to 8 points according to Gallup. And no one has even begun to dig into Palin.

Looks like the country is a little less impressed with the McCain movement day by day. That's a good thing; :)

Who doesn't have a super ego at times. If you say you don't, then you are lying out your damn teeth. I'll admit it I can get a super ego at times, epsecially when I take my friend to the cleaners in Madden 2009.

| The Democratic Party Has Healed were do WE go from Here! Posted: 8/31/2008 5:39:04 AM | The dems are clearly split , Hillary should and could break away and start a completely new Independent Democratic party , because she and he hubby are center walking democrats.
It is the left wing who has placed 3 of the last 3 presidents into running , from gore to Kerry , to Obama , and in doing so have run over a huge part of the democratic party .
If ever a team was divided , it is this party , and I predict Obama will not only lose but lose convincingly and with him the Pelosi and Reed left winged aspect of your party will take a beating from the rest of you.
I also agree Hillary should have won , and she would have most likely won the office of president, the sad part is your party has been hijacked , twisted , forced to march to orders not all agree with and this will continue until NOV 5th when you awake to see President McCain .
The left has already started to Trash another woman , and many of you knowingly or not are going along with it , what you forget is that trashing McCain's VP will only push women voters away from your party, You can not attack 2 women in one election cycle and think women are going to stand by and watch .. Maybe in NY you can get away with it , or California , but to many small states have the Regen democrats and this group will slaughter your run for president if you continue to attack another women .

The Democratic Party Has Healed were do WE go from Here!
Onward to victory in November ?
The left has already started to Trash another woman , and many of you knowingly or not are going along with it , what you forget is that trashing McCain's VP will only push women voters away from your party
Look towards Hillary to be leading the fight against Palin, who some are claiming will woo women voters towards McCain. If you truly supported Hillary for what she stood for, then you cannot in good conscience vote for McCain simply because a woman is on the ticket. In doing that you will directly oppose all the things Hillary stood for by that one act.
A woman's right to choose, health care reform that protects all Americans , these and many other issues separate Hillary from Palin in a dramatic and totally opposite way.
Simply thinking that women will vote for a woman only because she is a woman, and not on the issues that concern women (and all of us) is a very cynical view of politics, indeed.
If you line up Palin's view on women's issues, they do not reflect the views of the majority of women.
The poll finds that 53 percent of Americans think abortion should be legal if the baby has a fatal birth defect, including 26 percent of those identified as pro-life, and 30 percent think it should be illegal.
The highest number — 73 percent — say abortion should be legal if the pregnancy puts the mother’s life at risk, and a sizable 70 percent majority thinks it should be allowed in the case of rape or incest. A smaller 56 percent majority of Americans says the procedure should be legal when the mother's mental health is at stake.
About 4 in 10 (39 percent) think that abortion should be legal if the pregnancy is simply unwanted, while half (50 percent) say it should be illegal.
Overall, 48 percent of Americans say on the issue of abortion they are pro-choice and 37 percent say pro-life.
Democrats (62 percent) and independents (52 percent) identified themselves as pro-choice, while Republicans (56 percent) identified themselves as pro-life. Slightly more women (52 percent) than men (44 percent) say they are pro-choice.

Compare those numbers to Palin, and her views, and also add the fact that McCain is also on board with the same attitude Palin shares.
This means the choice of Palin ( as opposed to a less staunch "pro-life" supporter) will mean that McCain may increase his base, but will be unlikely to increase his support outside of it by any great numbers as people realize the implication of a double bill of hardcore "pro-choice" candidates that are seeking to restrict that access to abortion in significant ways as a part of their political platform.
In a worse case scenario for McCain , as Hillary leads the attack on Palin, she risks actually worsening the problems for McCain in attracting Hillary supporters over to his side. Hillary has many reasons to do this, both on a political and personal level.
If the Democrats lose the election, she has less power.
If Palin somehow becomes empowered by riding Hillary's coattails to power, then she becomes a direct threat to Hillary in 2012.
That's more than enough reason for Hillary to start the attack, after the initial grace period of welcoming her to the battle is over.
So this selection by McCain may prove to actually come back to haunt him, as the party unites to attack both of them in a big way, with that struggle naturally falling to Hillary as it's main focus when it comes to Palin.
Trying to leverage her supporters to win is a HUGE Hail Mary pass, and I cannot see it working in the long run.

| The Democratic Party Has Healed were do WE go from Here! Posted: 8/31/2008 1:19:58 PM | The democrats had their dispute before the general election. The republicans are going through this during the general election. There is a big difference.
This is the state championship and the democratic have been arguing for months over who will be the starting quarterback. Will it be Biden or Clinton, since Clinton was not chosen for the coach. But, right before the championship game they have a week long pep rally and Clinton decides it is OK for Biden to start this time. And though she feels Coach Obama has not been fair she will do whatever it takes to help her team win the championship. The democrats enter the stadium ready to go!
The is the state championship and the republicans have a strong quarterback named Romney with a good string behind him of great replacements. They have worked hard, sweated and know that Romney will probably start out in the game against the democrats. Then the principal announces right as they are about to enter the stadium and have just finished the prayer that Coach McCain has chosen an outsider Palin to be the star quarterback, because he met her a couple of times and feel she is the best to start during the championship. Thank God there is a big storm coming to interrupt the game. The republican team was just about to step out on the field.
Now, even though the democrats have fought (like any team) they are ready for the big game and united. The republicans on the other hand are trying to get to know this new person and understand exactly why she was chosen over the team members that have been practicing along side them the entire time. What strategies will they use. But, worst of all the game is to start in less than five minutes.
Yes, the democratic team is talking because they are shocked at what coach McCain has done. They are all waiting in the seats and ready to go, but the republican team is asking for a time out before the game so they can sort things out and blame it on the weather.
Just a thought. (Note: I am not belittling the hurricane by any means purely using a story to tell a story)
