sorry faith....Just looked it up at RCP and 4 out of 7 have McCain in the lead and the RCP average is McCain still up by almost a point nice try though.

By the way I looked at the map and the electoral map sits at McCain 227 to Obama 207
and to whoever posted that Florida was tied is flat out wrong as all polls show McCain up by 5-8 points there

The popular vote, albeit an important belwether measure, will mean SQUAT in November. While McCain is concentrating his advertising in key battleground swing states, for some strange reason Obama seems committed to some sort of 50 state strategy. I've seen polls showing NJ edging close to a dead heat, and that should severely concern Democrats (NJ is VERY blue). I think there is a bit of a spillover effect because McCain is blitzing Philly TV with ads.

Obama's last hope is that he's got to stop counterpunching McCain and being to deliver a coherent campaign strategy, and to do that in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. I just ran 5 simulations on 270towin.com. Here are the results:

McCain: 294 254 278 252 213 270 281 244 235 238
Obama: 244 284 260 286 325 268 257 314 303 300

Obama wins 6, McCain wins 4. McCain has less variance. 270towin's 1000 simulations indicate Obama 55%, McCain 45%, but McCain's median total is 273 (Obama is a 265).

The election is pretty much wide open. McCain's strategy of concentrating on the large swing states (MI, OH, PA, FL) is better than Obama's (winning everywhere). The election is really close. Michigan looks like a very key state too.

You can tell the Democrats are freaked out at losing.

Just look what they have done now.

McCain camp seeks investigation over reported e-mail hack

John McCain's campaign said Wednesday it has contacted "appropriate authorities" over a report that Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's personal e-mail had been hacked.

"This is a shocking invasion of the Governor's privacy and a violation of law," campaign manager Rick Davis said in a statement. "The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them. We will have no further comment."

The statement came hours after a user on the Web site WikiLeaks said he had gained access to Palin's Yahoo e-mail account and gained access. Screenshots of the e-mail messages and photos of the Alaska governor's family were published on that Web site and later on gossip Web site gawker.com.

FBI Spokesman Eric Gonzalez in Anchorage, Alaska confirms to CNN an investigation is underway.

"We are aware of the allegations and we are coordinating with Secret Service as far as the allegation that someone has hacked into Governor Palin's personal e-mail account," he said. "We are going to be working a joint investigation with Secret Service on this."

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

They hacked the account and posted her contacts, contact information and emails online.

Just goes to show what depths Obama supporters will go to win.

Disgusting....

On a swing through Pennsylvania last month, John McCain visited a Manheim Central High School football practice — not to ingratiate himself with the players, who weren't even old enough to vote, but to identify himself with the gritty, down-home, lunch-bucket values of small-town football. "This is a blue-collar town," Manheim's coach said in his introduction of McCain. "We don't have a lot of flashy athletes. We don't come out with a lot of flash." But the coach explained that his team works hard, plays with discipline and comes through in the end. "A lot like John McCain," he said.

I ran a few more simulations on 270towin.com. McCain is winning 58% of the simulations now. It's really a tossup. I can't see McCain hanging on to his current advantage with most of the media working against him for the next 7 weeks. It's going to be very unpredictable.

sanderick,

a shocking invasion of the Governor's privacy and a violation of law

Disgusting....

For the love of God, are you INSANE???????

A civil rights group filed Freedom of Information Act request seeking information about United States President's statement that he is authorized to open people's mail without a warrant, calling George W. Bush's record of violating privacy rights "dismal". The American Civil Liberties Union is also calling on Congress to exercise its oversight function and to require the Postal Service to report to Congress annually and publicly the number of times each year it opens mail without a warrant. "The President's signing statement raises serious concerns that the Administration's warrantless surveillance of telephone calls and Internet communications extends to the U.S. mail, as well," ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero said. "Given the President's dismal record of violating the privacy rights of Americans, we must question whether he is authorizing the opening of mail without a warrant in violation of the Constitution and laws enacted by Congress."

Just goes to show what depths Republicans will go to be fooking HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: You sir, are INCREDIBLY feeble-minded!

Once the debates start I think you'll see the gap widen.

I don't choose my candidate along party lines, race or sex....so being female or black or a WASP doesn't matter....I choose my candidate on their education level, and temperament, their platform, speeches, and how well they debate.

The debates help me decide because they're on their own. You get to see how quickly the candidates think , and how well they can communicate. After all, choosing a president isn't only about domestic issues, we're choosing someone who represents us to the rest of the world, and negotiates our interests.

I doubt Sarah is going to do very well...

If someone hacked into her computer account did they find anything interesting????? Not that we've heard of.
Have any of you seen last nights townhall with McCain and Palin? Someone asked her about her foreign policy experience (much more sappy that using just those 3 words) and she said "....if you want specific policy...just ask...we can play stump the candidate if you want to...and we are prepared to lead." McCain jumped in and started talking about her energy experience...and she never answered the question.
Boy the VP debate will be something.
Just heard that 33% think she's fit to lead...and 66% have serious concerns. You think.

That You are accusing people with out HAVING factual evidence of it.!! As a matter of fact, I AM SURPRISED IT DID NOT HAPPENED ANY SOONER.. After all the publicity that was created because of her. AND NOT BECAUSE OF HER INTELLIGENCE THAT IS FOR SURE.!! To tell You the truth, I don't believe " the opposition" did it. If You want to believe that, that is up to You. Probably a kid somwhere in Malasya is laughing at the whole ordeal right now. And of course, the media is having a lot of fun with it..

I don't know that I'm actually accusing them of anything...I'm just making a little side bet. Its called "a little friendly bantering". I'm not saying I know for a fact, I'm just throwing that out there. Nothing more.

So, if it turns out you're right and I'm off base, I will acknowledge that I guessed wrong. It very well may be a college kid.

Vulf...Dont use me as an example of what you think is the truth.

Let me remind you what the word 'lie' means. Its with the INTENTION to deceive others. What I repeat, I feel is the truth as I know it. Stop calling me a liar. To lie is to knowingly state something that is false with the intention that it be taken for the truth .

A lie:
(also called prevarication) is a type of deception in the form of an untruthful statement, with the intention to deceive others, often with the further intention to maintain a secret or reputation, protect someone's feelings or to avoid a punishment.

However, even a true statement can be considered a lie if the person making that statement is doing so to deceive. In this situation, it is the intent of being untruthful rather than the truthfulness of the statement itself that is considered.

Im not trying to deceive anyone. Im sharing the truth as I know it. Lets keep this friendly.

I heard a radio commercial from the McCain camp on the way home today. My question is how in the world are saying they are for stem cell research to combat (they listed a whole ton of ailments and diseases) and be against abortion. I though the other team was against all that...boy they change their mind daily.

Anyhoo...I heard McCain (with how many years in DC?) blame Obama (with how many years is DC?) for the latest financial crisis.

BTW....the last few days are just the tip of the really freaking big iceberg....
