| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 9/23/2008 6:45:30 AM | What I find is a nice refreshing drink is grapefruit and soda
I usually make it in a pint glass, 50% grapefruit, 50% soda water
If I am drinking a lot, U usually lower the juice to water ratio as otherwise the acid in the juice starts getting to me.
But served cold I find it a real thirst quencher

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 9/23/2008 4:38:34 PM | Talking Rain has a water drink out called Twist - artesian water with a twist of juice. Peach is my favorite
It's not sweet at all - really delicious. Not so easy to find though

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 9/23/2008 5:36:14 PM | | and yes I have been tested to the rude and off topic of diabetes...no, I don't have diabetes. The opening post was just a figure of speech and hypothetical. | |

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 9/27/2008 3:26:36 AM | Just to quench your thirst, any of the OP's 3 would do :) If I got that thirsty however, I'd go water for sure. Rain water for me! It's fresh as ever where I live. I agree with the posts saying bottled water is a waste of money. | |

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/8/2008 6:42:44 PM | Water. Mostly I drink water. If I'm going to be sweating a lot or I'm dehydrated, I'll drink Gatorade. But really, drink water. Squeeze a little lemon or lime into it occasionally for some flavor. I have a Brita filter, keep water in the fridge. I like it cold. (Screw those people who say cold water is bad for you. I like it cold. I drink more if it's cold. My people came from mountains where the water is *cold*!)
I rarely drink juice, except sometimes tomato juice or V-8. Too many calories that I don't need. And I drink about 6 cans of soda a year. NOT artificially sweetened. Yuck!
Water is cheap and the best for you. No calories. Essential for your hydration. No artificial cr*p in it. Pure & simple.

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/9/2008 10:13:14 AM | | I had three sips of a coke can last night for the first time in awhile. Ick. Pop doesn't agree with me anymore. So yep it's water and green tea all the way... and sometimes wino with dinner lol....still gotta have my coffee in the morning. | |

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/12/2008 6:14:48 PM | I like getting organic orange juice in the morning, about a cup will do it for me- it helps to wake me up in the morning. I love drinking water throughout the day, because it gets rid of hunger pangs that are really just thirst pangs. Result? I end up eating the correct portions, but peeing like I'm preggers.
Surprisingly, Beer, after an insane workout, is good for you. It replenishes electrolytes or something like that. But its good. Just don't overdo it
I prefer drinking water and when I can get away with it orange juice or even an orange.
I'm not a huge pop drinker- it's really TOO sweet for me haha.
Just my two cents- Sarah

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/13/2008 1:33:42 AM | Why not just drink some water or even Gatorade (G2 is half the calories of original by the way)?
For my soda jones, I usually just go downstairs to 7-11 and mix 2/3 diet and 1/3 regular soda. That said, that's only for the taste, as soda is horrible for quenching thirst.
As far as juices go, I just eat fruit and will sometimes get a smoothie from Jamba Juice.

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/13/2008 1:59:53 AM | It depends on my mood and why I'm thirsty. After working out in the heat and sun for several hours, I've already drunk so much water I'm sloshing, so I'll usually grab a cold diet coke and sit somewhere cool for awhile.
If I've been rollerblading, or playing some sport and sweating a lot, I'll grab a sport drink. Here in Houston, you can dehydrate very quickly.
Hour by hour, I usually drink water. I have one of those cooler things that hold great big bottles of water. If I'm going somewhere, I fill up a smaller water bottle and take it with me. I'm kind of a greenie, and all those little plastic water bottles in our landfills bother me.
The only time juice comes into play is for something alcoholic. I've somehow convinced myself that if I drink mixed drinks with fruit juice, I'm at least getting some kind of benefit.

| Quenching your thirst... Posted: 10/15/2008 8:53:04 AM | | Did I mention Nestea Zero?? It's not bad, an acquired taste, but hardly any sugars, 0 calories...better than normal iced tea....and yes still lots and lots of water. Down 43 pounds since I gave up pop! | |

I've been drinking it - diluted, of course :)
