Andropause... The Male Menopause...Page 7 of 7    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
huh?this thread is about "manopause".you wrote a very long story about lost love and are most defiantly depressed.i was also told these long chapters are often a sign of being bi polar,at least to some degree.however, from a personal stand point,as testosterone level drop in men,we can become depressed, thus our little catch phrase, m a n opause.we are more talking about treatments and options, symptoms, ect.,in the hope that more men will seek treatment and thus live longer, healthier happier lives,or improve their quality of life!i mean, its a public forum, but you may benefit more from other post dealing with depression.i would also point out, this post is getting old,not sure if too many are reading it anymore.i for one will try to answer you,and am sure many others will too.but, hypogonadism and anropause is more of what we were discussing, and they can occur at all ages.

Andropause is a medical condition recognized by physicians, the Canadian and International Society for the Study of the Aging Male (CSSAM), the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM), the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as by a majority of ordinary Canadians.

It's the majority of ordinary Canadians that convinced me. I note that "International" didn't make it into the CSSAM acronym. Now if it were a majority of Chinese I would wonder if they took too small a sample size for the poll. I hate to ma(4) and I'll try not to go postal but either someone is smoking ma(2) or can't tell the difference between an old ma(1) and a dead ma(3). Is it broken down by demographics--you know age and gender? Or is this just a new name for "mid life crisis?"
Back to the neutral tone at hand. There are a number of aging issues that both genders go through that are not related to hormonal cycles and/or their ceasing. Naming them andropause I think would only confuse the issue.

I am sure that you really wanted to say something smart but what I cannot figure. Maybe the green beard distracts me though...

sure...such things as diet, exercise, environment, personal outlook on life, and ones knowledge about health matters...some suggest these are all lifestyle choices...any of them that totally misalign your health priorities will enhance your aging process...

with that green beard and doll on your lap,you must be going through something, but it ain't manopause there professor!ahahahahahahahahahah

I've told the story enough times I thought it would be in the newspapers by now. I lost a bet with my 16 year old daughter who has an IQ some 50 pts higher than mine. It was shortly before St. Patrick's day. I should have learned long ago, but seem to be losing my memory much to her edification.

I am sure that you really wanted to say something smart but what I cannot figure.

The full effect will be understood by those who are familiar with tonal puns in Mandarin. Its not a large audience here, but I was happy with the thought.
ma(1) = mother
ma(2)= hemp
ma(3)= horse
ma(4)=criticise
ma (no tone)=question

Prof
In Mandarin there are for tones for each syllable and they change meaning of the worlds when pronounced differently.

'' There are four tones in mandarin, and a fifth neutral tone. These tones dictate how the pitch of the voice is sounded by the speaker.

1. In the first tone, the pitch of your voice remains constant and slightly high through the syllable.
(listen to mā)
2. In the second tone, the pitch of your voice raises slightly while pronouncing the syllable.
(listen to má)
3. In the third tone, the pitch of your voice goes down, and then goes back up in the same syllable.
(listen to mǎ)
4. In the forth tone, the pitch of your voice goes down sharply during the syllable.
(listen to mà)
5. In the neutral tone, the pitch of your voice depends upon the word you are saying, but is normally said more breifly and softly than the other syllables. It kind of takes on a middle-pitch, similar to the first tone, but lower in pitch and shorter in duration.
(listen to ma)''

So Professor you deciphered it for us very incorrectly... Maybe it was just a joke which only you yourself were supposed to understand? God for you!

I might throw some hieroglyphs in my next post and then we will really UNDERSTAND each other and have meaningful conversation.

Yes they are a great source of joy
I am laughing out loud I love them soooo much.

Seriously it's a great gift.
Only thing that puzzles me since Prof has explained the green beard and a doll in his lap thingy, but what is the story about him hugging the big white bear? Another bet...he feels a strange need to show all his staffed animals (???) on POF.

Maybe his friend rocket scientist can read a date above that photo and give as his cool explanation.?

Now let’s be SERIOUS for a moment

PROF^^^^

You made as laugh, and laughter is the best thing for the soul, the best gift one can give to his fellow man, so it cannot be bad. Maybe we acted like obnoxious children (with the beard jokes and all…but fun is fun), therefore I just want to say, I red your profile, you are well spoken, seem to have a good sense of humor and have a real life – you are quite OK.

Laughter represents innocence and no insult was meant to you.

All the best

Anyone familiar with Wade Giles pinyin knows that (1) (2) (3) (4) are representations of the various tones. I appreciate your informing the alternative coding. I doubt we want to turn this into a discussion of various pinyin representations used in Taiwan versus mainland China.

I RED your profile, you are well spoken, seem to have a good sense of humor and have a real life – you are quite OK.

Darn, I was sure it was a BLUE profile. Thanks anyway.
Lol, don't encourage me, I'll start posting pics of the teddy bear that I sleep with.

Andropause; I'll have to google it, Never, until now heard of it. I don't think most men have, least ways if they have , it's not a topic that we discuss or worry about. I think most men don't really catagorize ourselves with something that we feel someone labeled us with / probably to sell us some miracle drug that will have a multitude of side effects etc etc. Iv'e always thought that the mid life crisis thing was more of a insecure thing, judging by the guys behavior and all. It's still nothing I'm going to make big deal out of, maybe buy a better vitamin suppliment or a natural hormone enhancer,
