Posted: 9/2/2008 9:42:59 PM | Haven't read the whole thing but wow, I think your dating misadventures really take the cake and make most of us pale in comparison.
Me, I sometimes think I'm the wrong sex because I could never pull off the lies and smoothtalk most other guys and my friends do. The reality for me at least is that I have very little in common with most girls, and don't date past 1 or 2 dates too often. It usually doesn't get past the initial attraction. I've been out with girls who have hit on me for looks purely before and even on here but really didn't consider if we had any kind of connection. It usually gets to the point where... yeah I could just tell them what they wanted to hear but that's not me.
It's lonely being honest. I think its the opposite in your case, the more you're hurt the more you're opening your heart each time and wanting to finally trust some more. Dating sucks, love sucks but I think instead of openly accepting each and every declaration of love you get (I envy you, you get a lot lol) , stop and examine if there's anything really there. You also might be a victim of "practice" which sadly, guys have to go through in order to become that "perfect man" that many women will only go out with. Girls, next time you do come across the smooth, charming perfect man who does everything right, think of how many women he's had to fail at to get there :) | |

And i dont even live in the same country!! Must be a planetwide thing!
Babe, the fact that you have survived all this, AND all these hostile posts mean that you are a SURVIVOR.Making yourself vulnerable to people means big risk these days. But im sure you have learned heaps by now. i raise my glass to you with a big hug and a smile from another insane dating country...Australia!!

So its not a problem of who your meeting. You just need to listen to your own intuition and start calling a spade a spade. The lies pile up quickly and this is why most people are so harsh when they discover even small lies. | |

had a date last night... and thumbs up so far. Went to a pub, played a few games of pool as he was an ex county player too... (beat him 3 - 1!!) went for something to eat. I picked him up on the way, and dropped him back. Went in for coffee... NO FUNNY BUSINESS... place was definitely a woman free zone so that was all good.
Seeing him again tonight.
Just wanted to say, I've taken on board all your advice... and am crossing fingers!! | |
