| Sarah Palin Thinks Iraq War is a Task From God Posted: 9/8/2008 7:05:12 PM | The impression I'm getting is that the People of America are fed up with most of the media. Statements are being misinterpreted on both sides by the Media. It's chaos in the media world right now. As someone on the news said...they said Media is going through a phase of 'no holds barred' .... in a messy state of transition... and one day will emerge on the other side of this 'dark ages' period.
If Sarah Palin believes the Iraq war is a task from God, then, each Voter will form his/her opinion of that statement, analyze it ... or not.... and vote accordingly.

| Sarah Palin American Taliban Posted: 9/9/2008 3:09:01 AM | Cncgandolf mentioned this way back in msg 35... and I've got to agree... I'm pretty much a 'left wing' person... and I really do think Palin is a nightmare... But watching her give that speech in her church... about the war... I really don't hear her saying that it's a mission from God... I hear her saying that they need to pray that it is God's mission... pray that it's God's will... make sure that they are on the right path. It's a call for a prayer for guidance... for the leaders and the soldiers. Doesn't seem 'fair' to portray it as something it's not... even though I do think she's a zealot and needs to stay where she came from.
I saw Rachel Maddow arguing with Pat Buchanan about this tonight and it's the only time I can remember being in agreement with that silly man.
The bit about praying for the pipeline though... that's kinda whacky.

| Sarah Palin American Taliban Posted: 9/9/2008 3:55:18 AM | I see the title changed. Bu please do not offend the taliban that way.!!! The same way she offended the pitbulls when she compared herself to them. DOGS DESERVE BETTER..!!! THEY DESERVE RESPECT!!! Where is an animal rights advocator when you need one....???.... I AM CALLING THE ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY..!!!! | |
|
| Sarah Palin American Taliban Posted: 9/9/2008 4:29:39 AM | I don't think people who have been attacked by pit bulls are thrilled with her comparison.
Pitbulls get a lot of grief for the people raising them to attack and kill. They usually end up being put down if they hurt a human.
With that in mind......well you get my drift.

| Sarah Palin Thinks Iraq War is a Task From God Posted: 9/9/2008 8:26:17 PM | Well At least you served,I cannot understand all the monday morning quartebacking from these people. And you should be so against this type it isnt even funny, they are the ones that spit on you when you came home you know.By the way whether you wanted to do it or not , you did what was required of you and thats more than any of these jokers will ever do in a million life times unless they grow up. Now as far as the oil, well I didnt see one oil field while I was there, not one. What I did see is a people that had been mauled by a regime and had absolutely nothing. The worst ghetto in america had better living conditions than some places I saw in Iraq.I did see us trying to help get sewage systems back working that saddam had neglected since the 70s, I did see us build water treatment stations trying to help bring clean drinking water to people, I did see us give seed and fertilizer to farmers that otherwise just had to hope that conditions for a crop were right, I did see medical care given to people that had had no medical care.I saw alot more as well, and as far as killing Iraqis (the origional poster made that brilliant statement) most of them were killed by sectarian violence.Basically, what I saw and what you all are being told here by the media are two very different things.A fact you should be aware of from your days of service. And as to Iraq, being vietnam II I see 2 similarities, 1) we used to clear an area then move on and the enemy rolled right back in behind us and 2) some people in washington with no military experience at all (not a day of it) making decisions (ie. most of congress). Please dont take this as a gaff at you, Im just pointing out where we disagree is all,vet to vet :) | |

I mean just because you have the trophy doesnt mean you didnt use the meat as well.I agree hunting for sport is really nothing less than murder, but if you eat or give what you kill to someone that will eat it then I am ok with it. Now as to the baby being a sad situation.... uhm I would more call it difficult rather than sad, the girl had a choice she chose to have the child,I am sure she has weighed the consequences, and personally she has shown more backbone than women that just go get abortions. Do people that support abortion think every unplanned pregnancy is unwanted after it is discovered or that everyone that gets pregnant accidentally automatically wants an abortion?

| Sarah Palin Thinks Iraq War is a Task From God Posted: 9/10/2008 2:10:13 AM | To be very honest, this choice of Palin sealed the deal for me for McCain. I would rather poke my own eye out than vote for hot head McCain and nut job religious Palin. Task from god? What the hell?
This may be controversial to say but what the hell is the difference of saying a war that is killing thousands is a task from god than saying Allah said to kill thousands in X city? If she happened to be non christian she would be called a terrorist. But because she is "on our side" and christian she is a rock star. What the hell?

If it wasn't for men like you this country wouldn't be here today. You bring along with you a very proud and honorable long tradition of men and women that have fought and died for this country so that we are able to continue to keep our democracies and freedoms. You got my upmost respect man and I thank you.

| Rose colored Goggles Posted: 9/10/2008 12:02:51 PM | | Palin "HOPED" and "PRAYED" that the Iraq War was a task from God. She literally didn't KNOW that the Iraq War was from God (She is NOT omniscient). I think it's a question of Semantics. Plus, it was done in a Church context not in a Political one. | |

| Rose colored Goggles Posted: 9/10/2008 12:34:45 PM | I really believe that if "god" exist, whatever his/her name is. wherever he/she is. He/she would not be too happy about yhat people are using his/her name to excuse the wars... People should have a litle MORE respect for our soldiers... | |

| Rose colored Goggles Posted: 9/10/2008 6:07:46 PM | A TRUE WAR STORY
He was 22, very happy, just married, still young. She was 21, very beautiful and deeply in love. But someone said he had to go away... and at dawn he took the train.. and somehow she knows that he is not coming back.
He wrote the first letter 4 weeks later, at the time she learned she was carrying his baby. It made her cry and he was not complaining... so she decided not to tell him anything..!
Time passed by and she kept waiting. He would be home by Christmas and that was EXHILARATING..!! She held up to her hopes, but couldn't start celebrating... Because somehow she knows he is not coming back.
He lays face up among bullets and fire... a land mine on the road took more that just the truck tires. At the airport she still waits, the arrival of his plane. but somehow she knows he is not coming back!
And then, she got the last letter.. dated two weeks before and stating.. "Hey honey, how are You..?? now, here, is almost noon... Please don't worry about me. I LOVE YOU...!! I'll be home soon..!!!"
This is in honor of all of those who give EVERYTHING ..!!! So to someone like me ME, have the opportunity to write something like this . I wrote it right after I learned of the death of one of my cousins. He died in Iraq. I know, sometimes I like to be a little funny and even srcastic. But he taugth me to look at things in a different point of view. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS YOUNGER THAN ME. He was wise WAY beyond his years. By the way, he was an "illegal" if you people happen to care. And if "god" exist, I sure hope He bless him, as well as the rest of them soldiers and their families. And I am NOT talking about the politicians...!!!. Do I need to say more..??? ..........

| Sarah Palin Thinks Iraq War is a Task From God Posted: 9/11/2008 7:42:13 PM | Hmmm, sounds like the []resident nitwit!
There are numerous instances where Bush's 'faith' (AND I USE THE TERM LOOSELY) has been shown to be at the center of his political idealogy. In the lead-up to announcing his candidacy for the presidency, Bush told a Texas evangelist that he’d had 'a premonition of some form of national disaster happening'.
Bush said to James Robinson: 'I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can't explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen... I know it won't be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it.'
Something happened alright! Under Bush's 'Christian leadership' the entire country (edit: and much of the rest of the world) went to hell in a hand basket. 'Christian leadership'
Be very suspicious of anyone who 'tells' you they are a Christian. Talk is cheap! There is no need to 'tell' someone you are Christian if you're behavior 'shows' it day in and day out. The fruit of the Spirit does not need 'telling', it's about doing and being. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance, the nine fold ‘fruit’, characterize all who truly walk in the Holy Spirit. They are the behavioral attributes of a true Christian life.
Lastly, be VERY careful about advocating a theocracy. It might be under the control of someone else's religion!

sigh. even Bush knows this is't true and he's barely sentient life. and this chick could easily have her finger on the trigger.
we're doomed.
Palin Links Iraq to 9/11, A View Discarded by Bush
By Anne E. Kornblut Washington Post Staff Writer Friday, September 12, 2008; Page A01
FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska, Sept. 11 -- Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."
The idea that Iraq shared responsibility with al-Qaeda for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. On any other day, Palin's statement would almost certainly have drawn a sharp rebuke from Democrats, but both parties had declared a halt to partisan activities to mark Thursday's anniversary.

| Sarah Palin Thinks Iraq War is a Task From God Posted: 9/11/2008 8:42:39 PM | Well said Serendipiteee and Bluesman! I also feel that religion is something personal, and I've noted that many (not all) of those who openly display their religious views are actually not the nicest people.
It's scary to have a VP that thinks the war in Iraq is a "task from God." She is one scary freakazoid.
Joe Biden on the other hand is a very sensible man and the kind of guy I would want as the second in command of our country. (Pardon the second in command expression, I was an instructor pilot for many years.) Barack Obama shows sound judgement by choosing Joe Biden for his running mate.
