Since when did quoting Bible scripture start offending??

Please tell me when l said that my views are the ONLY truth? l think u are putting words into my statements.

These are not my views... the things l said are exact scriptures... l never made them UP!

Wot are YOU so offended about??

God said out of 1000 men he could only find ONE that he could use/trust...BUT out of 1000 woman, he found NONE.

the things l said are exact scriptures... l never made them UP!
That's the point - you are quoting the bible as truth because in your mind, it is. I am okay with you having that view but it is the assumption that everyone else sees it the same way that is offensive. You might want to add "IMO" to your statements to acknowledge that there are others out there with different and equally valid views.

You are getting offended at Biblical scriptures, and l have to say that this is your problem and not mine.
The Bible is the truth, and you said l quote "YOU ARE QUOTING THE BIBLE AS TRUTH IN YOUR MIND". l dont imagine or make up these things because they suit me. It is not in my mind either.
It is in the bible...full stop.
If u dont want to believe it then that is your loss, but dont try to tell me that l cant put accross my view either.Or that it is a crime to quote scripture.

If it wasnt true it wouldnt offend you.
You should try putting IMO on all your statements as you are trying to suppress wot other people are saying.
l am not telling anyone wot they can or cannot say, so l suggest you dont do it either.
anyway this is boring me now.
have a nice nite.
and please let people speak in future.
You never know you might learn something!

*This is posted so that any others tempted to make similar postings will not do likewise. Offtopic posting of verses from ANY scripture are not acceptable. As to free speech, you have it...but as in any society that has Freedom of Speech it is not without limitations, even in the UK, it comes with restriction. This is also a privately owned and operated website in Canada and as members you tacitly agree to abide by its Terms of Use/Code of Conduct when you agree to become members and also to abide by its rules. Failure to have read the rules is NOT an excuse to break them. I have already posted links to the rules for these forums in this thread and will not do so again.

So as a matter of fact:

It IS against the rules to post scriptures that are not on-topic to the thread.
It IS against the rules to make statements of "exclusivity of truth" such as "my faith/beliefs/scripture are the one true faith/beliefs/scripture. You may say "In my beliefs we are taught that our beliefs are the only true way." The distinction is VERY important.

I expect any failure to adhere to these rules to be reported and they will be acted on severely and swiftly. This website and specifically the Religion/Supernatural forum is a multifaith/ecumenical/pluralistic forum where EVERY faith is given the benefit of the doubt and even the non-religious and not-sure are allowed in to discuss religion so long as they abide by the rules and keep a civil tongue in their heads. Rock the ark one too many times, and I will happily toss you over with the other people that laughed.* Noah...errr...TheMadFiddler - PoF Forum Moderator

The Bible is the truth

With only the greatest of curiosity, can you prove it? Many have tried, with the greatest of conviction, and have come up short.

But the title is "The Earth is our Mother", and has a Native American spirituality spirit to it. What about this line of thought is so contrary to your beliefs that you feel the need to contradict the basic premise?

In a nutshell, the Creator Father made the Mother to care for His children. Different words, but essentially the same premise as the Bible I think. Us Indians just take it a step further, and postulate that the Mother is a living entity.

Cheers, Raven

arguing is futile along these lines, vikingprincess. just do what the moderator said - read the rules - then you'll understand why you are breaking them. you also are highjacking this thread now by continuing to express your views on the bible in this manner.

can we please return to the subject now of this thread?

i have been aware the last few days the earth is soon entering the annual time of the equinox when the hours of day and night are equal and balanced.....for many, this can be a time of reflection, of taking stock before the winter sets in, soon to be harvest time and preparing the ground and plants by protecting them before the first frost. in judaiism it corresponds with their holiest days of the year - the new year and eight days later the annual day of 'cleaning your karma' - offering forgiveness, asking forgiveness and making peace with all you have hurt in the previous year...'atoning for your sins, as they put it'.

does anyone else do special things now in honor of the equinox and this planet? or does a particular state of mind enter or heart unfold at this time of the year for you? perhaps an extra sensitivity or empathy with earth now?

Good Morning all

WeAre1 this is absolutely my favorite time of the year. Not that I do anything special, but I do get up to the mountain more often. I love to see Mother Earth ready herself for winter. And the animals are scurrying to find a secure place to nest. It's just the best time of the year for me.

Plus walking the mountain gives me a sense of Peace that I cant seem to get anywhere else.

PEACE as always
