Posted: 9/11/2008 4:45:55 AM | Muslims do not hate non believers. GEEZ. I have many Muslim friends whom are warm, loving and kind to me. They are no different from me. In fact, because I don't drink, smoke, do drugs....well I have more in common with them than most Christian friends. One of my very best friends is the most respectful, intelligent, amazing men I know. I would have married him, but I felt he was better off being with someone of his faith. Even thought he can marry women who are Christian or Jewish. My best friend from high school married a Palestinian she met in college. They have been married 20 years and have three beautiful children.
Muslims believe in God (Isn't that amazing?) ...Allah in Arabic. If you study a bit of religious history, you'll find the three major religions are very entwined. There are Muslims all over the world but the ones we have the most problems with are the ones of Middle Eastern descent, so the issues begin there. Maybe too because we support Israel wholeheartedly. The Jews after WWII were sent back to Israel, kicked the Palestinians to the curb, and set up shop. And everyone expected the Palestinians to be thrilled that they were kicked out of their lands.
People who degrade Muslims, well I wonder if they personally know any Muslims. and I mean those who are devout and follow the true teachings of the Koran. | |

Actually it's not myth. We have a lot of options here to go mostly independent, like natural gas, solar, wind and nuclear energy. The problem is we are way late to the game and it will take another 30+ years for it to hit mainstream use and that's if we start now. Now I agree that going fully independent is a myth, that's never going to happen. We dont' have enough energy resoruces in the country to do that even if you combined natural gas, solar, wind and nuclear energy together to feed the needs of all 350 million people living in the U.S.
The main problem is that the U.S. gov, the U.S. automotive industry, and the U.S. oil companies are all to blame for high gas prices and no alternative solutions. Both the gov and U.S. automotive industry didn't do anything after the gas crisis in the early 70's, because both of them were in bed with the U.S. oil companies. So the U.S. gov and U.S. automotive industry were getting kick backs from the U.S. oil companies to not raise standards or research alternative fuels. So they just went along on their business as usal for 30 something years never really trying to improve fuel efficiency or come up with alternative fuels. I mean, it’s pretty pathetic that the Ford Model-T that was built in 1903, got 25mpg and ran on ethanol fuel which got better mpg’s then most cars did in the 1990's that ran on regular fuel. But now all of a sudden the U.S. gov is raising all these new 35mpg or higher standards by 2020, due to consumer outrage over rising gas prices. The US automotive industry is scrambling to meet those demands and while all this is happening the U.S. gov, the U.S, automotive industries and the U.S. oil companies are all pointing the blame at one another, but it’s because of all 3 is the reason why we are in this mess today to having to keep dependending upon foreign oil for our needs. | |

Fear is a conditioned response and the terrorist organizations know this, They gather the fearful into groups in buildings and spew dogmatic catch phrases to maintain an acceptable level of fear which can be later used to prevent logical thought.
Once their programed, it's easy to direct what you want of them as they've been conditioned into thinking their 'leaders' will keep them from the fear.
Outlaw all churches, synagogs, mosques, and public and private organizations that preach fear. Outlaw politicians that deviate from the issues and their proposals to fix the problems.
Get free psychological counseling for anyone that believes they must live in fear. | |

Osama is just upset that he didn't get a piece of that Saudi Kingdoms Pie. He was been upset with them for years, because the Saudi Royal family were getting poweful from Euorpean and Western oil interest and the Royal Kingdom was giving him none of that power. So in return he hates the Royal Kingdom and any europeans and western interest for that. This whole I hate european and western interest, because the toorps were there is a bogus excuse for him to attract more radicals into his hate. I mean how many people would have joined up with him if we was telling the real reason for his hate? Not too many. Yeah but if you recall the Saudi Royal family kicked Bin Laden out. He was part of The Royal family at one time, but now they want nothing to do with him, because he was getting too greedy even for them. A matter a fact just before he left for Sudan in the mid 90's the Royal family had a bounty on his head, because he started to threaten the Royal Family. So he had no choice but to flee the country or end up dead. | |

Charles, please provide some verses from the Bible that advocate the killing of everyone who does not believe in the the Christian or Jewish faith. Since the Bible is "full of them", it would probably not be all that hard to find at least a few -- correct?
I have never read any, but perhaps you have another "version" of the text.
Please remember that the Crusaders had had NO exposure to the Bible, as it was not available to them at that time. Please also remember that the Crusaders were in their OWN country defending themselves against invasion of mideasterners. Wars were fought quite diffrently in those times. Are you saying that they should not have defended their own countries?
Are you also advocating the killing of all Christians? -- that is about 90% of the US populaton.

if you are no different then now i'm starting to look at you with questions. radical muslims want to kill us all. christians don't, zionists don't, jews don't, buddists don't but radical muslims DO want to kill us. they have professed it publicly on many occasions. that's why we're in a jihad (their word).
i don't see the muslim community as a whole turning other muslims in or informing on them. they hardly raise their voices against it. so if you are not with us YOU ARE AGAINST US.

Posted: 9/11/2008 7:09:08 AM | You could make a dent , at least, in terrorism by settling accounts (so to speak) with regards to Iraq and Afghanistan, figuring out a way to begin maneuvering out of at the very least Iraq, ASAP; and making no further (unprovoked) invasions / occupations against countries that are Muslim countries (because such invasions only confirm radical Muslims' belief that you are an aggressor superpower bent on attacking Islam and Muslims).
Also , of course, the issue of Israel / Palestine simply must be handled and a two-state solution reached, pressure put on Israel to end their apartheid-like policies towards the Palestinian Arabs, possibly even get UN troops in there , even into Jerusalem, to oversee a two-state solution with an enforcement of the peace type of mission (because radical Jews would and will just as easily turn to terrorism when things stop going their way). It would be of immeasurable worth with regards to the US's standing amongst the Muslim countries to see a degree of (serious) fairness with regards to this issue, without the US always just backing Israel 99% of the time.
But of course many here will just say this is all just "appeasement" and nonsense, etc, and what the US gov't really needs to do is stay on the offensive, consider perhaps invading Iran now, and so on. That's fine. Continue down that path if you wish. Then if or when a building collapses on you or yours , or just on random Americans in general, one sunny morning, perhaps you will at least understand that it is the fruits of your own aggressive militant ways and you won't stand there wide-eyed and say, "Why oh why do they hate us ??"
Look at photographs of the carnage wrought by "shock and awe" (10, 20, 50 9/11's), recall the abuses inside Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, the daily humiliations of Iraqi males and females under occupation at checkpoints and so forth (& imagine how Americans, armed to the teeth and paranoid already, would react under a foreign occupation), look at the dead civilians buried all over Iraq and Afghanistan. Then tell yourself your mantra, once again, "They only hate us because we're so free, and we're doing Jesus's work, and we won't convert to Islam...".
