Mine on the other hand is real...it's who I am and if people don't like what I have to say ...

Who wouldnt want a 8, 9 or 10 i dont think anyone would pass one up if they had the other stuff as well... but i wont pass up a 6 either if they have the stuff im looking for. Yeah but if a guy is a 6 and has the stuff you're looking for, and even though he's not the 8, 9, or 10, how many people would actually give that 6 a chance? | |

Maybe that's high but I think their are a lot of people using fake profiles or duplicate profiles to find out more about guys they like. I wouldn't be surprised if Markus Frind creates accounts to lure people into thinking women have interests in them. That just good business for a guy who makes millions in google dollars plus all the other site do the same thing (matchdotcom). Personally I'm starting think I have a better chance of finding someone on a paid site. | |

Posted: 6/26/2009 2:46:18 PM | Unfortunately, my experience here has been what many others are saying - lots of unrealistic expectations, and judgements based on a few criteria. Nothing makes me laugh more than reading all these profiles that say they "love to meet new people and make new friends," and seeing 'read deleted' from the hello I sent. All that tells me is that they're not someone I want to talk to after all.
I think the key is to take it all with a grain of salt and approach it from an entertainment perspective. It's difficult to judge someone's personality based on what's written here, so a lot of snap decisions are made on the superficial qualities... and that's just how it is. The ones that you want to meet are the ones that understand there's more to someone than what they see on these pages. | |

I'd rather post pictures of myself as I am, than fake what I look like. I want men to see me as I am, so that when, and if we meet, I already know that he liked what I looked like and wants to learn more about my personality. So, for myself...my profile pictures are true to what I look like. I think, and would hope, that most on this website are posting pictures of themself as they really are, but I'm sure there is the occasional female, or male that doesn't post a true photo of what they look like now, instead of one from years ago. But, I think that is more rare an occurrance. | |

I wrote it myself, I even take and post my own photos WEEKLY. I have met quite a few fakes...when I say fake I mean everything from men with older photos, lies about age, marital status , employment, etc etc. It is hard to detect ANY of that until you really meet and speak to the person...IN PERSON. Who knows if profiles are real or fake. I am looking for a variety of things. Sure, looks are important but there is A LOT more to accomany that. It probably will not be found on a dating site. | |

Another free dating website, I was randomly hit by a couple of ladies from Brazil and looking to move to Scottsdale, AZ. The conversation only lasted for the evening.
On one pay dating site, I was able to find several women who had their pictures under different profiles in different cities.
I try to look for people who have thier pictures taken outdoors. The ones who have the picture in the bathroom mirror, hmmm. | |

Perhaps I just found it, liked it, and adopted the persona and identity of the person it represents... Then again, perhaps I'm just the construct of a bored, or innovative/disturbed, author and the profile and the person it portrays, ie: 'me', are fictitious....
Actually no, come to think of it, I am real. I had a few beers at the local live venue in the city for Sunday nite musicality. And my profile is legit.
Just recently modified as a challenge of sorts.
And by the way, the average woman has voted my pic to be 1.7/10 while men give me a 5.5/10.
Go figure......

Did you meet everyone who's profile you viewed to confirm they were what they said they were?

A good rule of thumb is, look for what you can offer. | |

I think if you read carefully enough, you can figure out who's for real and who's not. This is the most "real" place I've found so far, although I'm sure there's a lot out there I haven't run across yet. Most of the other places I've roamed are so loaded with fake profiles and fake pics it's not even funny. | |
