| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 2:19:18 PM | I have symptoms akin to PCOS (although I do not have PCOS) and so I am happy I am now on the pill. I had considered an IUD but the risk of getting it "stuck" in the uterine wall and needing surgery (potentially) to remove it, is one I don't want to take. I've just had my last cycle; and I wish never to have another one, this was brutal. I honestly felt like someone was ripping my uterus out.
Some women never get cramps or pain; my mother never did. Some women aren't so lucky. And having my period has never - ever - ever made me feel feminine or more like a woman. It's the only thing where I can agree that if there is God, it is definitely a man because no woman would put another woman through what I've been through with my periods. When mine disappears for a few months at a time (when not using the pill), the next time it comes is so excruciating that all I can do is lay in bed and cry.
Women who only get mild symptoms, that are managed with over-the-counter pills, are lucky. Others, not so much.

| * for girls Posted: 10/26/2009 7:44:15 PM | I was one of the lucky ones who never got PMS at all. I never had cramps, bloating, cravings.. nada. And my periods weren't that bad either. I hated them but they weren't that bad. But when I was 15 I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts which they removed. When they were doing the surgery they found endometriosis and have since put me on the pill continuously. I haven't had a period in 10 years and I couldn't be happier! No more worrying about bleed throughs, spotting, pads, tampons, mess and able to have sex whenever I want. I never was a fan of having it when I did have my period.
I swear I nearly kissed my gyno when she told me she was stopping my periods.. BEST day of my life!

| * for girls Posted: 10/26/2009 11:15:17 PM | | ^^^^ it stops them and PMS for a majority of women (according to my gyne and endo). I have read the info on it and talked to my specialists about it. I have friends who have it and they too don't get a period or PMS. | |
